Unbelievable! A very expensive steak house where the chef was not even close in correctly cooking our steaks! Three of us ordered medium rare (the menu specifically describes the inner meat color depending upon how your order it cooked) and what we received was one medium and two medium well!

The restaurant did offer to re-cook the steaks and one in our party did ask for another while the other medium well patron said he would eat it anyway (and eventually regretted it). DB did remove that steak from our bill.

Drinks were good as was the service. Valet had an attitude (don;t know why - we tip well).

For the money, I was expecting more. I don't plan on returning to DB - I will stick with Canlis, Mortons and El Gaucho.

Dinner is always fantastic at Daniel's, and of the 3, I love this one for the feel it has...it is like an enclave in this sort of forgotten Seattle neighborhood of Leschi. My wife and I had dinner Aug 26th and start to finish it was the best of dinners of 2009 for us. The Manager Ira is an amazing host, and always makes my wife and I feel like his favorite friends, the service is always superb (we had Bev taking care of us this time, and she is wonderful), and the view is simply the best in town?watching Mt. Rainer go from blue and white through gold and orange and Bellevue lighting up across the lake?WOW!!

I took my wife and infant son to dinner at Daniel's Broiler on a Monday evening (8/24/09). I didn't have anything to eat 4 hours prior or 4 hours after our $175 dinner. It was a nice view, but very overpriced and our waiter was a bit cold towards us. I have a really strong stomach and rarely get sick. However, I started sweating profusely and emptying my stomach of its contents just a couple hours after getting back to our hotel. After ridding the food from my system, I felt just fine the rest of our trip. Maybe the restaurant was trying to stretch out their mileage on the meat purchased for the weekend crowds or hadn't received their weekly shipment. Nevertheless, I won't be returning to Daniel's the next time I'm in Seattle.

Cons: Stuffy atmosphere, food can make you very ill

Between their two Seattle locations this one by Lake Washington has always felt classier, more out of the hectic flow than the Lake Union restaurant. That makes for a more relaxed dinner in my mind. The food and view is absolutely as good as it gets, and has been every time we visit.

I've been to the Lake Union Daniel's several times for HH and dinner. The drinks (martinis) are always superbly crafted, the HH food is OK (it's HH, after all) but the steaks we've had there have always been tops. I didn't realize how tops it was till after eating at Jak's Grill. Jak's was above average but Daniel's was even better. The only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars is the waitstaff which can be inconsistent in service depending on the crowds.

We went to Daniel's broiler and Wow - it was really good. We had steaks and baked potatoes, and it was cooked to perfection. The view was really great, and the wait staff was really great. The price was good for what you got. I would highly recommend going to Daniel's.

I love the food at Daniel's Broiler. I like how it is a fancy restaurant, but you get sides with your entree! Even the kids menu is tasty (i recommend teriyaki steak). That plus the beautiful view is a complete dining experience.

One of the best in Seattle!
My boyfriend took me here for my first time and I love it! I have to say, I had a better experience here than the Metropolitan Grill. We made reservations, and were seated promptly. We were seated by the window so we had an amazing view. The restaurant was somewhat loud but still romantic. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, and had to be one of the best steaks I?ve ever had! We also ordered the banana bread pudding which was very rich but tasty. Our server was very attentive and professional, always refilled our drinks without even having to ask. Although the price is somewhat high compared to other steak houses, it was worth it. I would definitely dine here again for future special occasions. You won?t be disappointed!

My husband took me to Daniel's Broiler for my birthday in January. I have to say it was the BEST filet mignon I have ever had. It was cooked to perfection. If I could afford it I would go once a week but I have to wait for a special occasion.
The staff were all so nice, answered all questions and very attentive to all our needs. On our way out a manager greeted us as we got our coats and asked about our expirence. This was a nice touch.

I'm a weekly customer at the Bellevue location, tho have been to Lake Union many times as well. And I've eaten in some of the best restaurants in the country. This is an excellent steakhouse. A mistake here or there is possible, but It's hard to imagine someone having a bad time here. The Steaks have a char on the surface because they're prepared gourmet style, in an 1800 degree broiler. The Char seals flavor into the PRIME (highest USDA grade) steak.

Don't miss: The 3 cheese appetizer from the lounge (on a small slab of granite), the tomato and sweet onion salad, broccoli with Bernaise, wines from the cruvinet, and the Valrhona chocolate cake.

My husband and I just moved to the neighborhood and decided to try out some nearby restaurants. When we walked in, were were greeted like old friends and instantly felt comfortable. We didn't have a reservation, but they got us seated right away in a gorgeous window table. The ahi appetizer was fresh and perfectly rare, the steaks were the best I've ever had, and the service was impeccable. He even brought out a small scoop of sorbet for my husband while they cooked his steak a little more! The other customers in the restaurant seemed to be having a similarly good time. The ambiance was pleasant and intimate, the service just right. We'll definitely be coming back here a lot!

I went to the Lake Washington Daniel's Broiler this summer for my birthday dinner. I went with six other people. The service was good, and drinks were good. Nobody in our group ordered a well done steak, and everybody got at least a well done steak. I ordered my filet medium, and it was dry (b/c it was so done) in the middle. The waiter comped us for my steak, and would have ordered another, but after waiting 45 minutes for everybody to get their food, I decided to eat what I was served. I would not go again. I would rather go back to The Met or back to El Gaucho, neither of which have disappointed me in the past.

Cons: over-done steaks

The food is DELICIOUS and the staff have always been attentive and very pleasant. We eat at Daniels regularly and have never been disappointed! (The Met is a different story...) I never feel like I've over-paid for food even though i pay over $100 a person.

Pros: food, staff, everything...

Cons: kinda spendy...actually, really spendy

.

Cant beat the food here...juicy, USDA prime beef and 20oz Australian lobster tails, its pretty hard to go wrong. My boss took us here last Friday and we had a great time. There is also a great piano bar with live music on most weekends. This is a very popular hang out spot on most evenings as well...sometimes there is no seating. The service can be improved though!

State of the art food, service and prices - and odds are you'll be rubbing shoulders (or at least sharing the same dining space) with Bellvue's most powerful patrons. The steaks are top of the line, and so are the prices. A once-in-a-while sort of place.

We have been frequenting this Daniel's every weekend (sometimes twice a week) since our move to Seattle 7 months ago. Our experience is always top notch: the steak is perfect (and if there is ever a problem, they will gladly take it back and bring you sorbet while they fulfill your request), the service is courteous and pleasant and the restaurant is always immaculate. While the prices at Daniels are a bit elevated compared to some other steakhouses, it is certainly worth every cent. Oh, and the waterfront location (especially during the summer) is awesome!

My husband and I have always loved this place! Each time we go, we have enjoyed it. I finally decided to catch up on my restaurant ratings and rate Daniels. You won't be dissapointed. I have had their steaks, lobster, chicken dishes and all were delicious! If you have never been here, you need to try it! Service was great! I love good service. It makes your evening that much more pleasurable.

Very good service from the time you enter to the time you leave. The waiters coming over as a team with flashlights to let you check your steak is hilarious. We had basically one waiter for 7 people and he was excellent. The prices are pretty amazing and the portions large so don't fill up on appetizers. My only complaint would be that it is very noisy and not easy to hear people even right next to you.
Overall, worth the money.

I took my boyfriend to Daniel's Broiler for our anniversary. I mentioned that when I made the reservation, when we got there they treated us like we are royalty. Our waitress was very nice, answered all of our question. The oyster (I can't remember the name but it was something rocketfeller) was awesome! We both ordered medium rare filet magnon, and it was PERFECT! Best one I ever had. The view was awesome, very romantic. We both had a great time there, and will definately go again. Thank you Daniel's Broiler!!!

The server messed up our order. Wrong cuts of meats, wrong potatoes, etc. Was even going to switch food plates infront of us using the bread dish. You're basically paying for the view.

Out of all three this one is the best. It is much smaller, more intimate and not as noisy as the others. Went there twice, loved it both times. Will go there again. By the way, to those who complain: things can happen, even at the best places, if you are not happy about something resolve it right away with the manager. They'll try everything they can to satisfy your needs, unless you act like a spoiled jerk. I am taking about restaurants in general.

I went to Daniels on Lake Washington to treat a friend to a birthday dinner. The view was great. At the start we told our server we would have drinks and an appetizer, and to hold our dinner order. He brought the dinner entrees during our first round of drinks before our salads. When i told him we weren't ready for them, he said "Oh I'll just keep em warm for u. Just what I wanted, stale food kept warm for $100 a person. He never brought the wine i ordered and basically provided the worst service i have had in any restaurant in memory. The food was average. I told the host of our problems he just shrugged. A long letter to corporate was un answered. I will never go back and have told everyone of my experience.

Best filet mignon I've had. My friends and I ordered every dessert and passed it around. They were all good but the chocolate cake was the winner! Service was great too. It was at night so we couldn't really appreciate the view of the water but overall we were all pleased and very full. Price was reasonable to this level of dining.

Wow, I can't believe they came in second. I wouldn't even go back for seconds. I've been to Daniel's once and was not impressed. Their steak wasn't the best, nor was the rest of the meal. The service and everything else was OK, but if the steaks not great, what's the point in going to a steakhouse.

Four of us went to dinner at the Bellevue location. One of the people said the last time they ate at Daniel's they over cooked the steak but was willing to try it again. Two had Filet Mignon. They were both burnt on the outside. I ordered the salmon. I could only eat a few bites of the salmon...it was nasty. Very, very fishy. The worst piece of fish I've ever eaten...seriously. I told them that it was a bad piece of fish because I didn't want them to serve it to anyone else. No one else spoke up. Either way, that was our last dining experience at Daniel's.

Have a drink at the Met if you must, some like old brick buildings. If you don't want to eat a brick, go to Daniel's. Daniel's Broiler has never failed to offer a world class Steak experience. When ever I'm in need of a good steak house for guests or clients, I go to Daniel's and know I will get the best in town. The view, staff, surroundings and of course the food are all tops in the city. It's like being in Chicago with a great view! Keep up the good work Daniel's Broiler.

In my opinion the steaks here are the best I've ever had. It is definitely better than Ruth Chris, and is up there with Jak's. They gave the best service I've had in a long while with a comfy private booth away from the crowd of people. Very romantic atmosphere and I love the selection. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants good steak.

We had Thanksgiving Lunch at Daniel's. They had a four course set menu consisting of either Roast Beef, Turkey, Pork Loin or Salmon. We had Roast Beef figuring that all the courses cost the same, why not go for the most expensive one in the supermarket. The food was wonderful and with a corner table near the window and fireplace, the view of Lake Union was a touch of San Francisco.

My wife and I ate at Daniel's Broiler on Lake Union during the Christmas Season. We try to get out for a nice dinner at least once a year. We have young ones at home so it is difficult, which makes our experience even more disappointing.

We were greeted fantastically, that was the good part. The rest of the evening was a disaster. The waiter was rude, the food was average at best and they had brought us the wrong bottle of wine. I don't know wine that well, so I didn't know to refuse the bottle. I relied on the waiter, my fault.

After our experience, I wrote a letter to their management outlining our disppointment and describing our experience in detail. We were merely looking for an apology, we never got a response at all.

Pros: host/hostess, view

Cons: waiter, service, customer service

.

From when you walk in everything is first-class. The service is perfect. Steaks come right off the grill cooked to perfection. If you are looking for a fantastic steakhouse, try Daniels Broiler.

We had no plans and was our 16th anniverary. My wife directed us to Daniels a friends recommendation. We parked, walked in with no reservation, explained the "special night" and got a seat on the deck with a gorgeous view and impeccable service. The food was incredible. (maybe could use a little more garlic in the mashed potatoes) Steaks are cooked at 1800 degrees and are served PERFECT! It's now our new favorite spot and will go there regularly.

Pros: Free valet, excellent food, excellent service

Cons: expensive, desert took awhile

Every meal I've ever had at this restaurant has been great. The ambience, the service and the wine list all complete the best steaks served in seattle.

This place is two thumbs up! Great steaks, great service, and what a view. What other steakhouse gives you a combination of all three? My personal favorite was the filet mignon, my wife had the jumbo grilled prawns. We were celebrating our anninversary and were treated like royalty. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who hasn't been treated with great service and great food. What a treat!!!

Yup, good atmosphere, crowded and in general pretty good food to boot.
Yet, as for steaks... Daniel's has lot to be desired.
It could be that the way they prep the steak just doesn't sit well w/me. I've had many dinners (steaks) here, I would consider this to be an "average" steak.
