DR. KNOWLTON SHOULD BE AVOIDED AT ALL COSTS.

**PLEASE read this before you go to Westcare Clinic because I need to help other people avoid the pain and suffering Dr. Knowlton has caused me. If you'd like to read more about her, read other reviews after searching for Westcare Clinic on Google.

For about a month I had been suffering from increasing pain in my lower-left abdomen, even after I had just gone through a prescription of antibiotics for a UTI/kidney infection. I was nauseous, urinating blood, and in excruciating pain and the 1200mg of Advil I was taking was not helping me whatsoever. I have a history of ovarian cysts and given my experience with them- and the fact my antibiotics hadn't fixed the pain I was having, I was terrified that a cyst might have ruptured so I eventually decided to go to Westcare Clinic to find out what was causing so much pain.

I was checked in promptly and taken a room within 10 minutes of being there. Dr. Knowlton came in and began asking me questions about why I was there. As I began to try to explain that I had been in pain for several weeks and it's gotten increasingly worse even after a round of antibiotics, she cut me off several times asking me a different type of question which made me feel flustered. I was simply trying to explain the backstory because I figured that might be useful and because I was at an Urgent Care, I had an expectation that they'd try to narrow down what might be causing my pain because the medication wasn't helping.

After she was through asking questions about what my symptoms felt like, she asked me to go do a urinealysis because she thought I had another Kidney Infection. She did NOT give an examination and she wouldn't listen to me when I asked about ovarian cysts. She didn't want to hear what I had to say. After my urinealysis came back, Dr. Knowlton came in the room and said she wasn't completely sure what it was but she's going to treat me for a kidney infection anyway and handed me a prescription for yet another round of antibiotics. I asked her what I should do about the pain and she said I had to wait a few days before I could be out of pain and tried to walk out the door. When I tried to protest she said "Just take the medication".

I was furious, she only spent a few minutes with me, she didn't even ACKNOWLEDGE that I was in pain or give me a reasonable explanation as to why she thought it was a kidney infection again and she also refused to rule out any other causes which leads me to the hospital visit I had two days ago...

TWO WEEKS LATER I DISCOVER SOMETHING SEVERELY WRONG:
I was nearly collapsed in pain. It felt like my insides were going to fall out after imploding on the inside. I went to St. Pete's hospital where I was taken care of so well. They not only put me out of my misery with pain relief but they did tests which revealed something incredibly important and life-altering that could have been caught two weeks ago had Dr. Knowlton had the competence and compassion...

THE "KIDNEY INFECTION" DR. KNOWLTON DIAGNOSED ME WITH IS ACTUALLY A TUMOR ON MY LEFT OVARY THAT I NEED SURGERY ON.

All she had to do was give me an examination or imaging of some sort. This surgery will cause me to lose my ovary which will affect my chances of having children. It's incredibly traumatizing. All this pain and suffering I've had to go through is because of her. I hope that whoever reads this will please avoid her. I am not the only person who has faced trauma because of this incompetent "doctor".

Please Westcare, if you read this, take action!

I have been going to the westcare clinic for about 5 years now. Dr Julian rodriguez is very knowlegable and has always been helpful. Right on everytime. The entire nursing staff there is phenominal! But there is one person who seemed like she should find other work. Dr knowlton, in my opinion, is highly unqualified. She actually told me there was no such thing as viral bronchitis! That and I saw her for all of 3 minutes, she diagnosed and moved on.

I have been going to Westcare for over 15 years. Always professional, and never too long of a wait. We went in tonight at 8:55 with a child needing some stitches, and they took us in even though they had to stay late to take care of us. Waaaaaay better then having to go to the ER, Thank you Westcare!

Dr. Knowlton diagnosed me with 'strep throat' and prescribed antibiotics without any actual test or culture being done. 2 weeks later, I consulted another doctor who actually performed tests and determined I had mononucleosis which was accompanied by a enlarged spleen. Had I actually returned to work, there was a good chance my spleen could've ruptured as I occasionally do a bit of heavy lifting. Do yourself a favor and visit a different clinic which employs doctors of competence.

I just moved to Oly and was not feeling well. I found Westcare online, and called to see if they were busy. They told me to come on in--I didn't need an appointment. The wait was short, and the staff was very attentive. The doctor listened patiently to my complaints, did the tests, and then explained my situation thoroughly.
I now have a primary care physician in Oly, but I would not hesitate to return to Westcare if I needed after-hours care again.

Between the health care workers cracking jokes in the hallway about a woman in the clinic with Gonorrhea, being laughed at when telling them the specific medicine my wife needed for her nausea, and being completely mis-diagnosed and sent to the Emergency Room at another hospital based on incorrect information, I didn't have much time to take a step back and decide if this clinic was worth our $30 co-pay.

Do yourself a favor and find a better clinic.
