Reviews for Petsmart

Ratings_icons Good prices, lots of stuff, not the best knowledge

Amber P.

It's kinda got that Wal-Mart value...not really high end and not the most knowledgeable employees, but the prices and selection are good.

I recently acquired a pet mouse from them; unfortunately, I am now finding some of the information they gave me was wrong (about bedding - turns out cedar is BAAAD but not because of mites which is the only comment made to me, food - a mostly corn pellet diet is NOT healthy, and about odor - I specifically asked if a male mouse would smell more; although assured he wouldn't, he most definitely does.)

On the other hand, I'm still going back for supplies, but now I'm doing my research myself.

PROS: good small animal selection, low prices
CONS: bad information

Ratings_icons Not the best for cats

May H. | insider Insider | Rank: 15,926

Pestsmart on Aurora is not organized. I went there to buy flea collars for cats or other flea products for cats and found very few items in the cat section. I asked a clerk if there was anymore cat product and she replied whatever is on the shelf is what they have. This was not entirely the case. I found many flea products for cats, in bigger sizes which means at times cheaper, in the dog section which I found by myself and quite on accident. So, if you happen to have a dog do go here because they sure do carry a lot of dog product.

PROS: A big advantage though is that Petsmart loves to give out samples. Dog and
CONS: Products not organized and lacking in products for cats.

We prefer Petsmart over Petco due to the prices. Bags of the cat food we purchase are always a dollar cheaper than at Petco. The cat towers don't cost as much either. The cat toy aisle has a huge selection. I don't like the smell of pet stores, otherwise I would give it five stars.

Ratings_icons fun cheap place to shop

These guys are great! I like the fact that I can bring my dog in the store. We always check out the toys and she gets to pick one that she's interested in. In the long run, that saves a ton of money because why buy something your dog will hate to play with? They've also got great prices on dogfood.

PROS: lots of selection; can bring pets in with you
CONS: easy to go overboard when you have money to spend

Pet's seem to be big business these days.
But not all pet stores are alike. This PetsMart
on Aurora is one of the best for not just
selection but for service as well.
