Worth Every Penny!

by K.D. B.

This restaurant ranks right up there with the very best in the Seattle-Tacoma area! The ambiance is wonderful, the food terrific and well-priced for what you get. It is a total dining experience that will keep you coming back. I highly recommend it.

Charged $140 for Ordinary Party Cake

by Tricia W.

I co-hosted a shower for a friend at Taste the Moment. I requested cake for dessert, and the restaurant accomodated the request by providing an ordinary party cake from an out-sourced bakery (quite a departure from the desserts typically served). However, I was charged the full menu price for each slice of party cake ($7 per slice or $140 total). I did not cause a scene at the restaurant, but rather discretely contacted the restaurant directly the next day to voice my concerns. I have posted parts of the owner's snide response following:

"Found your note today, and frankly am totally confused as to what exactly it is you want or expect of this Restaurant? Your note is indeed perplexing and disturbing. We are wondering how it was you made the decision to choose our Restaurant in the first place? Have you been here before? You would have seen all your concerns addressed on the printed menus, if you had.

You asked for a cake. Toni agreed to your request, however Toni had to take time away from the Restaurant to drive to our purveyor West of Boeing Field in Seattle! I wonder how many Restaurants would do that for you with minimum notice? We normally require the menu to be poured in concrete at least 48 hours before, but Toni wanted to accommodate you.

If you had a specific budget; It was your responsibility to work that out before your arrival; Not a day or so after the event! Regardless of what you expected; you are the one responsible for setting any limits. You looked at the bill before the party arrived and paid for it in advance. We could have very easily pulled the 2 cakes and served them at our dinner hour!

Remember; This is NOT Dennys! Your party used over 60 dishes, 40+ glasses, the Tea Pots were filled free of charge 3 or more times, and it took well over 2 hours to clean and prepare the tables for the next guests, do all the dishes and serve other people as they came in after you left. All in a days work."

Sincerely, Dick
