I have seen Dr. Smart and staff for over a year for adult orthodontia. I have had some unusual issues, and they have ALWAYS made room for me right away in the schedule when I had a problem. I signed up for email reminders, and also always get an automatic phone call reminder the day before--a great service. I have never had to wait long, even if I were late (traffic has caused problems a couple of times). The staff is friendly and helpful, though I don't care for being called "Missy" by the receptionist (but I know she means well). Dr. Smart is a good listener and has gone out of his way to make the braces more comfortable for me and to explain what he was doing. He also worked closely with my regular dentist. He and his staff have integrity and skill.

I was referred to Dr. Smart by my dentist, and knew nothing of him before then. I had wanted to get invisaligns for about 3 years before I came to him, and after a consultation with Dr. Smart's staff, I learned that he charged less than a different doctor I was interested in.

But that isn't the only thing. Dr. Smart is truly a perfectionist, and does excellent work. To me, that is worth more than getting a cheaper price. I am so glad I asked my dentist (who is also a perfectionist, so I fully trust his opinion) about invisaligns also, or else I would have never been referred here.

Friendly, however not the most timely. If, as a client we were on the same time schedule as Dr. Smart & staff, as a patient I would be charged a no show fee. If I had known that this would be the case I would have probably done more research and found a more timely orthodontist - if in fact that is possibly. It would be marvelous if Dr. Smart or his staff would give reminder calls (as most other Drs.offices) even if it is no more than a message on a machine - you have an appt. Friday at 11 AM. Taking into consideration that some appointments are scheduled out a few months & it would be very easy to simply forget. Service is as expected. There seem to be just as many excuses always blamed on "the computer" wrong billing, no appt. reminder calls, waiting an incredibly long time past time of scheduled appt. - Seems if computer issues persist it is time to reconsider the feasibility of keeping that computer on board. I would be inclined to share with friends about Dr. Smart - however I would recommend that they opt for services with him ONLY if they did not mind continuously long waits - sometimes up to an hour in the lobby past the time of your scheduled appt. Upon speaking to both Dr. and staff about this, they relay that this is not the norm - however sadly, it has been the norm in my personal experience. Now I try to schedule for a time where I have nothing else scheduled for the remainder of the day - because I can't guess how long it will be. I wish that Dr. Smart felt his patients time was more valuable - and did not over schedule himself every 20 min.- if he isn't going to be able to see his patients in a timely manner.

I've gone here for years, first time I set foot in the office was with my friend when she got her braces, then it was with my sister and a few years ago it was for myself.
I remember how both my friend and my sister loved going, which I thought was odd until I went in for my own braces. The staff are one of the nicest people you will meet. They make it a point to get to know you on a first name basis and even remember that my sister went there (was over 8 yrs go at the point). And the added bonus, they are perfectionist! They aren't satisified with mediocrisy. I kept my braces on for another 1/2 year longer because my teeth weren't as straight as we all wanted them to be. :)
Not so surprising is the fact that they have a high population of adults that go to them. They are great with kids as well as with adults.
If you want perfect teeth, go to Dr. Smart.
Dr. Manke was retiring when I was going in there for treatment so he may already be gone.

I've been going here for half my life, and although the work being done on me wasnt exactly pleasant, the people were awesome and my teeth are looking 100% better than they were 9 years ago. The office is really nice looking, and the people do whatever they can to make you feel comfortable, especially when they're doing painful work. This staff makes a terrific orthodontic team.
