Purchased Clifford alarm with life time warranty from car toys. I lost the remote so I called car toys to see about a new remote. Was asked how old the alarm was. I told them 4 or 5 years old. I was then told that they would probably not be able to get a remote for it and I would have to purchase a new alarm.
I found that hard to believe so I went to Foss car audio to see if they could get me one. which they did with no problem. when the tech at Foss car audio went to program the new remote he found that the brain in alarm was bad so he pulled it out so I could take to car toys for replacement. ( note: he was an installer for car toys before going to Foss car audio ) so he knows the alarm well.
Went to car toys and was told that the warranty was void since they did not pull the alarm out. then was told that if i had Foss car audio put it back in then they would trouble shoot and remove it for warranty. I told them the car was in the parking lot and I could plug it back in so they could test it. was told I would have to make an appointment to have it looked at. ( don't know why since I was already there and the installers were doing nothing )
I left with the alarm and went back to Foss car audio to see about a new alarm. the people at Foss car audio said before we sell you a new alarm let me see if I can get the old one replaced under warranty.
All my car audio needs are now going to be at FOSS CAR AUDIO
check the prices at Foss car audio they are as good as car toys and the service is better

Very poor service after the sale. Very anxious to sell you something new, but don't really stand behind what they sell. I bought a high end Pioneer unit, over a $1000 when all was said and done. Had to take it in 4 times before they fixed the XM unit... which turned out to be a loose wire, near as i can tell. Now the screen has gone out, and even though I have an extended warrantly, it has to be shipped somewhere to be fixed! i am without a radio for up to 10 weeks! I asked them to put in the factory radio back in so I would at least have a radio while they tinkered with the Pioneer unit, but they said they would have to charge me! can you believe it? Do yourself a favor and buy somewhere else.

Basically what had happened is I bought a new car (to me) and was looking to put some 4 inch speakers in the doors by cutting my door panels. I was also in the market for an EQ and a 10" and 12" woofer combination. I have had a lot of systems in the past, but it has been a little while since I have been in the game although my friends call me a veteran and I install their equipment in my garage on the side. After a recent incident involving an installation I was working on, I deemed it best to see what other local shops could offer me. I came into the store on Tacoma Mall Blvd, next to the fence on I-5, and was promptly and curteously greeted by a shorter muscle bound gentleman who called himself Tristan the Finance Manager. I told him what I was looking for and he steered me in the right direction. He has a great, dry sense of humor that could be misunderstood as belittling, however he read me like a picture book. He continued to show me some gear and had a custom installer show me where the wiring and butt connectors would be installed. We got to the computer and the total was far more than I expected. After saving me over $152.63 on my parts charge, we agreed and shook hands. This has been my best shopping experience ever and I will not go the the B&I again even though I have used them for years! My only concern is that my invoice says that the salesperson was Dave, and Tristan was the person helping me out. I think the management should look into that. I cant seem to get ahold of Tristan to let him know he may not have gotten my commissions. Thanks Tristan and Tacoma Car Toys!!!

The sales staff at car toys was pushy not knowlegable and didn't seem to have time for me. I took my suv to them to have a stereo installed and the staff hardly gave me the time of day. I left very disatisfied and sore toward the entire corporation.

I went to car toys to find a good cellphone plan, and I needed some speakers. The gave me pretty good prices and helped me pick the right brands. I had an enjoyable experience. I found close well lighted parking. They also threw in some great deals for me. They schooled me on cellphones and the different plans and helped me immensely.

I went in to car toys trying to buy a new cell phone and look for a new stereo. The sales people took along time to come and help me out but when they did they knew what they were talking about and what would be the best. They have all kinds of stuff that is good for just about any car you could want. They also have a great stock to choose from.

Car Toys has everything for cars, trucks, suvs... whatever kind of vehicle you have. They have stereo equipment, dvd players, mobile phones. They carry top quality items. The prices are really low. The staff is always around if you need help finding something. They even do instalations for the equipment you buy.

Horrible sound quality for two months was first clue something was wrong even though car toys denied it the entire time....then found out my airbag system was shorted out and not covered by my warranty due to the dvd player installation mistake. Was told repeatedly there was no way this could happen because the wires for my airbag system are clearly marked where no installation tech would be stupid enough to splice into it. Guess what? Car Toys employs techs that do this....

Worst experience I have ever had. Ruined my new car, stressed me out when I was 9 months pregnant causing pre term labor concerns. Wrote to store manager and corporate office with no reply at all.
Don't buy here or have them install anything if you care about your car.

Would give them zero stars if the option were available.

They installed my own amp which was fine when I took it out of my other car an hour earlier. Told me it was bad and sold me a new amplifier. As soon as I drove away new amp shut off! Told me I needed a more expensive amp so I went to another store who showed me they hooked up my woofers wrong. They blew out my amp and had me by a new one. Now I am out 600$ becuase they screwed up my install! STAY AWAY FROM CAR TOYS!!!
