I am recommending this clinic based on their contact lens expertise and ordering experience. Richard, their contact lens specialist, listened to my needs and recommended several types of lenses. He have me samples of each to take home and try out for a couple of weeks. Ordering lenses through them is a breeze, just place a phone call and then either pickup or have them shipped.
I have seen Dr. Hovander for my eye exams for several years, and just recently purchased a pair of glasses from them. The selection is pretty good (I've seen both better and worse) and Paul was very patient and helpful to me.

most thorough and friendly eye exam ever

I've been to a lot of optometrists and have never had a more thorough exam. Dr. Hovander is extremely kind and soft spoken and explains everything he's doing and what he's looking for. I had tests done that all of my other optometrists neglected to perform. Also, I'm a horrible patient because I have a hard time telling if lens 1 or lens 2 is better and I feel extremely guilty about it. Dr. Hovander was extremely patient and tried different ways to make sure my prescription was right. He is just so incredibly thorough and knowledgable and nice. Richard the contact lens guy is also very friendly and really knows his stuff. Oh and the folks there know how to deal with UW GAIP insurance and file the paper work for you. I just can't say enough about University Vision.
