303 E Pine St Seattle, WA 98122If your looking for a gift that is a little out of the ordinary then I recommend supporting Lipstick Traces. It has that independent spirit I love to support. The owner is a young women in her twenties. This store seems to be doing well. I hope it will stay open for years to come. Also, check out the artwork from local artist. There is usually an art opening at the beginning of th month where you can chat with the different artists.

Lipstick Traces is perhaps my favorite store in Seattle to shop for gifts (for girls mostly). They are stocked full with unique, hip, often handmaid items that you wont be able to find anywhere else. Because some of the clothes items are a little to costly for me, I usually end up buying a piece of jewelry or one of thier adorable tricklets.

Lipstick Traces has an extraordinary selection of gorgeous unique/one of a kind/hand-made items. A wonderful store for the ladies- super cool clothing by local and international designers. During my last visit, I found some awesome note and birthday cards near the front. They were like nothing I had seen, so cute! Great clothing, accessories, art, bags, etc. Pricey for many things, but this stuff is handmade; well worth the extra quality and love! Definately neat things here that you would be hard-pressed to find anywhere else in town. I like to come here on a Saturday morning to browse after picking up some yummy coffee next door at Bauhaus.
PROS: Gorgeous and unique items. Worth a careful browse and the extra cost. Great place to buy gifts!
CONS: A bit expensive for most items, but worth it!

This eclectic, edgy shop is filled with alternative flavored items that make wonderful gifts for others or yourself. From one visit to the next you can never be quite sure what new treasure you will find, as the owner selects her inventory from designers of original goods from around the world. I can always find something I can't live without for the kitchen, bedroom or bath. Jennifer, the owner, has been exceptionally friendly and fun to talk with over the last four years since I began shopping at her store.
PROS: Hours: Mon - Sat 11 am - 7 pm, Sun Noon - 6 pm.
CONS: Anxiously waiting for the expansion of the website.

If one of a kind is what you're after, Lipstick Traces will satisfy you. The store features all sorts of cute purses, stationary, and other small items that are generally affordable and unique. That is a combination hard to come by nowadays given the mass producing economies of scale. The staff is also very friendly and helpful.

I love a great local independent fashion boutique, and Lipstick Traces is no exception. Their selection is versatile and can work for all types of ladies. The accessories are fantastic and super creative. Lipstick Traces is one of those stores whose fashion can be considered more along the lines of bodyart. The only slight disappointment for me was finding out the pieces I dug the most had been imported from New York.

What this place lacks in inventory is well made up in unique gifts. I have never failed to locate fabulous individualized gifts for all my alternative friends. The staff is friendly and not pushy in the sales department. The prices are reasonable and won't break your pocket book.
The invetory changes on a somewhat regular basis.

I enjoy getting gifts for my friends here because they showcase independent artists and have really cute, individualized items. You can buy one of a kind wallets, purses, stationery, cards, clothing, and artsy accessories here. The store is beautifully laid out and very colorful. They have recently moved across the street and a few blocks west of their other location. The are on E.Pine St. in Capitol Hill near Bauhaus. I have bought cards by artists Nikki McClure and Yoshimoto Nara there. If you like their art, you will like this store. If you don't know those artists go to Lipstick Traces so you can find out!
