When Shoga F arrived at our kennel, we had closed 45 minute earlier. I was sitting down having dinner when she walked past our closed gate with a sign showing our hours. She then got upset when I told her we would still take in her dog but there would be a $40 late charge.
Our hours are posted on our website where she found us to begin with. When she made her reservation, I personally told her what our hours are. She did not bother to listen to me and now thinks we are to blame for her mistake.

the k-9 Corral came highly recommended to me by a colleague, so when my husband and I went on vacation, we decided it was worth the extra hour's drive to book in our medium sized dog there. I had called a few weeks earlier to make the reservation and had written down the hours of operation that I was told on the phone. When we arrived late afternoon on Saturday (a little after 5 pm) to drop off the dog (and well within the hours I had written down), we found the gate locked. In a panic, my husband crossed over the gate and went to seek out anyone at the kennel. He knocked on a door and was met by an extremely irritated man who told us that we had disturbed his 'rest and relaxation time' because he had to go out and let out dogs around 7 pm and again in the morning at 6 am. He was the owner. When I told him the hours of operation that I had, he scolded me for near on 2 minutes and told me I would be charged $40 dollars extra. I held my tongue as our options were limited. While we were checking out dog in, the phone rang and the message machine picked up. It was an employee stating they had forgotten to give a dog its medication. The owner scrambled to pick it up before we heard more. We called the am we got back and were told we could pick up anytime before 5 pm. When we arrived to pick up our dog, they told us their computer was 'gliched' and that they had to rebuild the invoice from scratch. They said our dog had 2 playdays ($11/play extra fee) when I had ordered one playday. The response was: "well, he got two and it's $11 each time. Your dog was bad, he didn't get along with some of the other dogs." I couldn't believe it. I refused to pay the extra playday. When I left, I saw on the invoice that they had forgotten to charge me the $40 extra for off hours delivery but had charged me extra $10 for pick up after 1 pm even though Dawn had said "before 5". Our dog seemed very nervous when we picked him up but all in all he seemed fine. Will not use them again.

We have always been very happy with the care our dog has received here. She is naturally very anxious, and quite a barker. But she loves coming here. They all seem to love her, too. We have gotten her back from other kennels where she was completely exhausted and hoarse from all the barking at the other dogs. The way K-9 has their kennels seperated so they can't see the other dogs, really seems to help her relax. And I love the stuffed Kong idea to keep her busy! (It's true they don't wash the bedding, but I never expected that for the price they charge)

I just wanted to educate EVERYONE who is thinking of boarding your dog(s) of some expectations. I personally have not used the K9 Corral, but previously worked for a large boarding kennel and am very educated on pros and cons of boarding. A kennel is NOT like a home environment in any way... so in response to to woman who had a bad experience with small dog boarding... here's the deal. In a kennel situation dogs are totally different than at home. The best potty trained dog is much more likely to have an accident in a kennel than at home. It is very common for dogs to urinate on their things when they are stressed out, especially small breed dogs... and a kennel IS stressful. It isn't home and it isn't their normal routine. It is typically loud, and they are confined for periods of time. They CAN learn to enjoy it though, as they start to make the connection between familiar employees and a regular kennel routine... but I always warn people that a dogs first kennel experience is not always the most pleasant. I will say that the kennel should have washed your items... but even in that case, sometimes they wash them and put them back with your dog for comfort, in which case a stressed dog will mess it again in no time. I am not making excuses or defending the kennel, just want ANYONE who is thinking of boarding to realise these are possibilities for any dog in any kennel, and you have to know it is similar to taking your child to daycare. There are times they act up, stress out, get sick... all normal when boarding in an unfamiliar environment and with populations of other dogs.

Some people are never satisfied with anything,I'm sure this lady with the small dogs is the type of person that yells at waitresses for messing up her order or at cashiers for making her stand in line to long. Those type of people will never be satisfied, ever!My dogs have been frequent customers of the K-9 Korrals since they opened, and I have to say that when I turn down the road leading to the K-9 Korral my dogs begin to get excited and start sniffing the air because they know it's a place where they have fun. I have never had my dogs in the shape that this women claims to have had hers, and my dogs have had some farely long stays.I've been advised by the owners many times while boarding my dogs,"if you think your dogs are going to tear up their bedding or go potty on them then don't bring bedding" because they will not be held responsible for damages that your dog causes. I as a repeat customer,I think that's completely fair.As for sanitary conditions the place is spotless inside and out and I have been inside the kennel and daycare numbers of times, the owners work very hard to keep that a priority and to teach that to their growing staff.I have been told and have learned that kenneling K-9's is stressful on a pooch and that under stress and confusion that sometimes dogs tend to do things that they wouldn't normally do at home(i.e. going potty on bedding or destroying it) I know as a person I tend to do silly things under stress too,it's normal. But try telling that to an animal that doesn't comprehend or understand. In conclusion I will continue to bring my beloved K-9 family members to the only kennel that I trust, thus being the K-9 Korral.

PROS: the staff, facility, very clean and kept, attention to animals is awesome!
CONS: NONE!

Our dog has gone to K-9 Korral for 1 1/2 years. Not only does she go to daycare everyday, K-9 is the only place my family feels comfortable in leaving her. I have seen a few daycares and K-9 Korral is the only daycare I have seen that requires proof of vaccines and actually looks at the paperwork to insure the safety of the other dogs, the facility is spotless, and constantly managed with staff at all times. The staff is very active with the dogs and the dogs are never left alone. We have been lucky enough to see the kennel numerous times and I can assure everyone it is as clean as the daycare-immaculate. The dogs are walked while boarded and have so much room to run. We have been lucky enough to have Lynn and George help our dog come out of her shell since we adopted her from the pound. It appears she was mistreated or abandoned as a puppy. They have worked with her and she trusts them so much. That says a lot to us. I will continue to recommend K-9 Korral to all of my coworkers and friends. I never have to worry about making a bad recommendation when people go to K-9. All of the people I have recommended who have gone to K-9 have been extremely pleased with the service, facilities and the owners. I can't say enough great things about K-9 especially since I go there everyday.

PROS: The staff, room for dogs to run outside, facility, the owners
CONS: There aren't any

When i found out that i was going on vacation i knew i had to find a place for my dog to stay. I looked online and asked my vet. My vet recommended K9 Korral in marysville. I called and scheduled a tour, which was nice because i wanted to know that my dog was going to good facility where it would be treated good. When i went for the tour i was amazed how clean it was for being a 40 kennel facility. All the dogs seemed content and many were outside due to the nice day. I was reassured by the owner that my dogs stay would be more comfortable for him if he had his own bedding with his smell and i could even bring his own food. After my vacation i went to pick up my dog, again i went into the kennel to get him with the employee and again it was clean and tidy. My dog was so excited, his kennel was clean, he had fresh water, and he had access outside. The bill was a good price and well worth it because i knew that my dog was happy when i was gone. I would recommend this kennel to any dog owner any day!

PROS: Good price, clean, good to the dogs, and the dogs get out 4 times a day

I left my dog here for a week. I was pleased with the way he looked and acted when I picked him up. George asked about specific arrangments when I dropped him off. He was treated well and enjoyed himself. Their prices are the best I found in the area. I will continue to board my dog here and reccomend this facility to anyone who is looking for a good boarding kennel.

PROS: outside a lot, at least 4 times, a lot of attention, treated extremely well

Have you ever heard the saying don't judge a book by it's cover? I hope readers keep an open mind when reading the women's review on K-9 Korral who was unsatisfied. I am a Police Officer and I know there is always two sides to every story. When I investigate a collision or crime I ask questions, not only to the victim but the suspect. I also take time to look for others that may have knowledge of the incident, be it a witness or someone who may know the history on the people involved. Take time to ask questions to K-9 Korral about this woman and her dogs before you just judge K-9 Korral by her comments alone. I am one of many Police Officers that bring my K-9 to K-9 Korral. I have first hand knowledge of K-9 Korral service and staff for three years. I have nothing but positive comments to say. I have recommended K-9 Korral to dozens of friends who repeatedly bring back there pets to K-9 Korral. As many dog owners I treat my K-9 as family and would never send him to a place he was treated poorly. The doggie daycare is first class which allows me to sleep before work and my K-9 to get the exercise he needs. Someone is always with the dogs in the daycare and are well looked after. When away on training or on vacation my K-9 stays at K-9 Korral. He is well looked after and the blankets and toys left are returned in good condition. It is too bad this woman had a negative visit but please don't judge K-9 Korral by just her personal experience / opinion. Take time to drive out to K-9 Korral. Look around, ask questions, take a tour, meet the owners and staff, try the 5 hour doggie daycare for 8 bucks, then form your own opinion.

PROS: Clean, friendly, secure, reasonably priced daycare and kennel stay

My husband & I thought we would try this kennel for our dogs, and at first during our tour and talking with the man we were pretty impressed - the kennel seemed clean, and it sounded like the dogs get a great deal of attention.

However, upon picking up our dogs we discovered they weren't so clean, and quality after all...

The man didn't let us go back to the kennel to get our dogs, and I can only imagine why...
When he brought our dogs and their belongings to us...Their hair was matted (they don't even much hair to matte together), and they stunk like their own feces and urine...
It was absolutely horrible. He gave us their belongings in tied up plastic bags and said "Well, the one dog consistently would go to the bathroom on her things, she never would go when I had them outside." I can only imagine they weren't let out very much (or not very long if they were) since my husband and I have no real problem with our dogs going on their bedding.

The real surprise was when I got home...I opened up the bags to get their belongings, and the smell completely took my breath away!!!

The bedding was absolutely disgusting...I found many things in the bags that weren't even our dogs to begin with...Toys, blankets, treats...I can only think that another one of their clients is probably missing their toys, blankets and treats...

Nonetheless, I put all their things into the washing machine, and washed it on a 2 hour long extra hot sanitary cycle....
All of the things still smelled so bad, I had to wash them all over again the same way...Thankfully, the second time around the smell was gone. :-P

What I don't get about this whole situation is that...If I were a kennel owner I would NOT want to give belongings back that smelled that bad. That only tells me what kind of conditions and care my dogs got while they were there, and it's nothing that I wish to repeat...

I definitely would not recommend this kennel to any of my friends, or family!!

Note for others reviewing:
Please do not review MY review. You should be reviewing the place for yourself.

No, I do not yell at waitresses & No I do not even get upset for waiting in line too long. I actually despise people who do that.

I wrote this review after I picked up my dogs, and honestly I was shocked.
The tour I took of this place made it look immaculate, clean, the dogs smelled great.

However, I don't know if they were having a busy/bad day when I picked up my dogs & cats, but I have never picked my dogs up from a kennel that didn't wash the bedding before giving it back to you.

My dog had poop stuck to her hair...

I understand the dirty bedding was due to my dogs going potty on it, however, I would think they would wash the bedding instead of balling it up, putting it in a plastic bag and kind of just handing it to me.

And I was not given the privledge of getting my dogs from the kennel, so I cannot say like another reviewer that I saw their kennel when I picked them up. Doesn't mean it wasn't clean, but I'm just saying I didn't see it.

I'm not saying these are bad people, or a bad kennel. It's just not the right place for my smaller dogs. I personally wouldn't recommend it, but I think it is great that you all feel differently.

I hope you all can review the kennel itself, and to please stop criticizing my review because you don't like what I had to say.

PROS: Good Price
CONS: Dirty, animals not taken care of while there
