This restaurant has been in business for 30 years and is still family owned and operated! I remember when it first opened in Oak Harbor, it was the first Mexican restaurant in town! My daughters and their children are now going to El Cazador. Delicious food, wonderful staff, a family tradition!
El Cazador is nice Mexican restaurant. It has a nice atmosphere and pretty decent food. Their staff is fairly good, although the bar area can get busy and sometimes you have to wait on your drinks.
Check with them, as some nights they have entertainment. On Fridays for happy hour, they have free food which can really draw a crowd.
My family has been going to El Cazador for over 30 years; back when they were where Bay Printing now stands, and spilled drinks on the upper floor meant certain doom for anyone on the first floor sitting beneath that spill. Although we have to commend the restaurant for being in business that long, there has been a certain downhill slide to mediocrisy. Once a regular for family gatherings, has become the place we most avoid. Try Esteban's or Mi Pueblo for a better Mexican experience.
I will never ever eat at this place again. We had the absolute worst service ever. The food took forever to get to us, and when it did it was very very bland. I think taco bell has better tasting mexican food. We went on fathers day and it was not busy at all which was nice. But they still managed to have crappy service. We had to hunt our waiter down for to go boxes, the check, the rest of our order ect. The waiter didnt know the difference between fat tire and hefeweizen. By the end of the night I had thrown up 4X my husband spent all night in the bathroom and by early morning my son was sick as well. If you want good mexican food in Oak Harbor Mi Pueblos was much better and we didnt get sick off it!
Pros: if you crappy mexican food with crappy service and food poisening then this is your place
Cons: Everything
Although this is not going to be the most authentic mexican food you can find in Oak Harbor, it is still very good. For those of you that like you salsa hot, be sure to ask them to bring some out for you. the slasa they normally serve with you meal is blah & bland! Nice bar area & always good happy hour specials on appetizers.
Pros: Pollo De Creme
Cons: basic salsa (ask for the hot!)
The food is okay, if you are from Texas or California you will find it falls short of your expectations. Still the food is better than some places, but Oak Harbor has other Mexican food to choose from. Everyone's tastes are different, and the service was very freindly.
Pros: Location, Parking, Bar/Lounge
Cons: n/a, n/a, n/a
not a bad place to eat as far as for mexican food in Washington State. Not up to par to what Im used to in Colorado, but will suffice until I return home
This is a far cry from the food in Texas, but it will do in this little town. The food was great and better than I had expected. The service wasn't bad, very friendly. Tried a different Mexican place in town and was appaled. The food was great and would recommend it to others. Great place for groups.
