Two Thumbs Down!  2 Star Rating - Wouldn't recommend

I went into the Chapel with high expectations and left laughing at the poor service, bad lighting, and even worse atmosphere. The drinks are over priced for how weak they are and the people are extremely rude and snobby. I don't think I've been to a worse bar/club in Seattle or even Canada for that matter. Don't go here, there's nothing great about this place except the fact that it's an old church.

PROS: Cool Setting
CONS: Everything- drinks, people, prices

going to chapel, and we're...gonna get pleasurable drinks  4 Star Rating - Very good

strangely, this bar is named the chapel. but when i think about it, i can understand why. entering in makes you feel like you are about to get married. and you really are. with the lovely drinks, of course. inside it is quite modernised with a stairway that leads to the comfort of plush couches. i remember, my first time at this bar, my boyfriend took me as soon as i arrived into seattle. and i was astounded. i could not believe that such a bar named "the chapel" would have such tasteful architecture. having a drink at this place makes me feel so relaxed because of its beauty and style.

Happy Hour Is Dead (in a good way)  4 Star Rating - Very good

Chapel is a very cool bar set in a former funeral home. The stone markers that used to be used to identify corpse compartments are now assembled as the main bar. But don't get me wrong, it's not a dark place. In fact, it's surprisingly bright. It's wide open setting feels airy and doesn't get smoky. But those are just minor details - what matters here is the drinks. They have an amazing array of specialty martinis that will take you awhile to work your way through. Check the website for a list. Happy Hour martinis are only $4, and they have $5-6 happy hour food that is extremely good. (Happy Hour is 5-8pm) Small upstairs seating w/loungers and couches, overlooking the rest of the bar, makes a perfect date setting. Not too noisy, not too quiet. Go. Drink. You're not dead.

Chapel needs a new staff AGAIN! 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

I have been going to the chapel every since they open a few years ago. This is a great spot for happy hour and yes they have a beautiful space but the staff RUINS it! They are not consistent with their level or service and they always seem really put out to do their jobs. Come on people open your eyes!

Pros: Drinks
Cons: Service

I agree...horrible service 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

My buddies and I like to go to Chapel because of the people watching, great drinks and small plates. I have had not so good experiences with some of the staff because they seem to be rude. I was almost thinking that they were trying to be "rude" to be cool or something. But I had hands down the worst experience last Friday (2/15/08) when we were celebrating a birthday and this gal that waited on us was such a dragon lady. We had a big party and people were leaving early and paying separately and we still saw their items on our final bill! Not only did we have to refresh her memory but she was very grumpy and moody. It took us about 30min to resolve the issue and I have to say that I will think twice when a buddy makes a suggestion to go to Chapel. BAD SERVICE!

Pros: drinks and food
Cons: staff

Take an extra hike up to the Capitol Club, Chapel is Toast. 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Dear Chapel Owners,

Please hire new staff now if you want your loyal customers to indeed remain loyal. I was there last Sunday, and noticed two unoccupied bar stools at either edge of the bar. Being logical, I figured my friend and I could move them closer together to sit at the bar. But, instead, I was reprimanded and told to move the chairs back to the side so the bar patrons can be served. Ok, makes sense right? I shouldn't be in the way, especially since the bar is 20' long, and no one was waiting in line, and there were only about 10 people in the bar, and because it was eight o'clock (a notorious peak time during the Seattle winter seasons). Make way for a big city attitude in a small town-it's Chapel's best menu item.

Pros: Love that it used to be a creamatorium
Cons: If I wanted real style with my drink, I would go to LA, not Seattle. Thanks.

Avoid completely 1 Star Rating - Unsatisfactory

Horrible Service, not kidding when I say the waiter yelled and pushed us out of the way while we were standing having a few cocktails. Hey if your having a bad day, leave it at home. The place was very pretty. But the service - the worst in Seattle. Spend you money elsewhere.

Pros: Great atmosphere
Cons: lousy service, pretentious, why?
