Joey was referred to me and several others by a friend and we are all very impressed with Joey's skills with haircuts and color. He spends the time to get to know you and find out what you are looking for in a cut, style and color and delivers more than you expected. He is very friendly and puts you at ease to create a very relaxing atmosphere. Well worth the time and money!

I've been going to Joey for 2+ years. People constantly stop me on the street and say they love my hair. I've sent many friends & family to see Joey and have heard nothing but good things. I would recommend Joey Furlan, rock star hair stylist, to anyone I meet!!!!

Joey has been styling my hair for almost a year and I wouldn't trust my hair with anyone else. He does a consistently great job - I get complimented all the time on my hair since starting with Joey. He is friendly, down to earth and seems to really love styling hair. He is also particularly good with color. The salon in general is also comfortable with lots of fun things to buy. All my friends and coworkers go to Joey - I can't say enough good things about him! I hope he never stops styling hair!

Joey has been cuting my hair for 7 years. I drive from Federal Way just to see him. I am always happy with the results and get constant compliments! The salon is wonderful and everyone is very friendly.
I will definitely be seeing Joey until he retires!!

Ever been stopped on the street by completely random strangers who just HAVE to know who did your hair? I had never had this happen to me, I have never been to the same hair stylist more than once, nor been 100% satisfied, until I met Joey. Joey is so easy to sit down with, have great conversation, the most relaxing scalp and hand massage, and have absolute confidence that your hair will look amazing. He takes in the whole package, ie. personality, style, wants, and tailors your cut and color to match. When you tell him what you want, there is no need to worry that anything will be lost in translation. I cant say enough wonderful things about him, and my experience with him for the past two years proves that I will not ever need another stylist. In other words...run, do not walk to Joeys chair!

I have been going to Joey for about 5 years now... I was actually referred by another client of Joey's after moving to Seattle and beginning that dreaded search for a new hairstylist. Like your significant other, when you find "the one" you stick with 'em... Joey listens to how you feel about your hair and what you would like to do with it... whether cutting, growing it out, changing the color a bit, and gives you options. He genuinely cares about your hair, that you like it, and that you can style it on your own at home. He even calls a few days later to see "how you're lovin' the hair". He's "a keeper"!

now go to the best. I have been going to Joey for 5 years for cuts and color. I made the mistake of trying another salon, only to come crawling back after 2 sessions. I will not do that again! Joey is a gifted colorist and a very good cutter. He is fun to talk to, provides sensible, tuned-in advice, and gives great hand and scalp massages. He takes a personal interest in you and makes interesting conversation! I always look forward to my hair appointments and the results of the cut and color! Joey also receives regular training on the newest color/cut trends, so you will have the best care. The Derby salon has a hip ambiance too!

Joey is a highly skilled stylist who is just great about listening to his clients and giving hime just what they want. He cuts and colors my hair, takes care of my two teeenage girls and finally got my husband to look so much better. Thank you, Joey.

Joey has been taking care of my locks for several years. I have never before received so many compliments on my hair -- from friends, co-workers and even complete strangers! I started seeing Joey on a referral from a friend, and after a few months several more of our girlfriends were also clients of his. One of Joey's many talents that I really admire is his ability to create looks that suit each of our very different personalities. I just love him.

I asked one of my new co-workers one day who cuts her hair since it is so fabulous and she recommended me to try her hairstylist ... Joey! I did -- and I love it!!! A lot of people complimented me following the appt and asked for Joey's number. Not only will you look your best but will emotionally feel your best as well! Joey understands the frustrations and concerns we all have to look our best in every setting and he provides you with a cut complimenting your personality that is so easy to style whether you are going out for a nice evening or just chillin at home :)

Joey has been my stylist for a year and a half and I can't say enough about how good he is at what he does. Every time I get my hair cut and colored at least 4-5 people stop and ask me who did my hair. Joey is great at working with you to come up with a style that fits you and works well for you, offering great ideas and possibilities to consider. He's quick to respond to emails and voice mails regarding appointments and he gives a killer scalp massage when washing/rinsing your hair! To top it all off, not only to you walk away from Joey's chair looking totally fabulous and feeling very relaxed from the scalp massage, you also get a little chocolate treat as he sends you on your way. Bottom line, you should have Joey cut your hair.

The only stylist I have found that really 'listens' to what you are saying! He not only listens, but he great at discussing why and what he thinks will work too. I find he truly works around your best features and gives you a style that compliments YOU! Love that he not only does reminder calls - but - have you ever had a stylist do a follow up call? He does! He actually calls to make sure you love the cut or color he did for you. I think this is really going above and beyond. I drive out about 50 minutes each way to get to him - and he is well worth the drive. You won't be disappointed.

I whole heartedly agree with all the other rave reviews posted before me... I've had about 6 visits to Joey and plan on continuing forever! I found out about him by word of mouth, one person in my office was going and now five of us do!

Joey is definitely the best stylist that I have ever been to. In the past, I often didn't go back a second time--but I've been going to Joey for 3 years now, and have never been disappointed. He always has suggestions/recommendations for me, and is able to put that together with what I am looking for. He's a master with color and gives a great cut too. Besides, he's fun to talk to and the hand & scalp massages are great bonuses. I have recommended many friends to him, and have never worried that they'll be disappointed. Thanks Joey!

I've had to "break up" with many of my past hairdressers because of bad hair color. I was always able to get a decent cut but usually the color would bring me close to tears. Joey has an amazing talent of putting a great color with a perfect cut and 1:1 attention. When I am in his chair I know that his focus is on me and on giving me the hairstyle that I want and envision. The ultimate compliment is being stopped by women wanting to know who does my hair.

I like to look stylish, but I don't like to fuss with my hair. I've tried out various stylists in downtown Seattle in search of a stylish but low maintenance hair cut. Unfortunately, I always felt like I was paying way too much for a mediocre hair cut. Now, I get fabulous hair cut for much much less (including an incredible scalp massage)!! Joey not only listens to what you want but incorporates his artistic style to give a style that I get compliments from even strangers!

I found Joey on CitySearch a couple weeks and called the number, thinking his studio was nearby. Upon speaking with him I discovered it was much farther away than I thought, but I was so impressed by his professionalism and friendliness over the phone (and his willingness to fit me in within the hour to his busy schedule that day) that I decided to give him a try anyway. I was very pleased with the cut and his efficiency and personability. I will defifnitely be a regular client of his.

I am a long-standing customer of Joey's. I make the drive from Tacoma to see Joey because there is no one better for my hair! (I used to drive from Puyallup.) He is an expert at cutting and coloring my curly hair. I get compliments several times a week. An added bonus is Joey's wonderful personality and people skills. He's a great conversationlist and asks questions that make you think. Joey is a very caring professional who truly enjoys his work, and makes your visit fun! The hand and scalp massages are just the icing on the cake! As long as I am able, I will make the commute to see Joey.

I couldnt be happier with my hair since I found Joey! Joey really listens to what I want , and delivers the look I want everytime. I've got lots of compliments for my hair from others since Joey became my stylist. Joey is fun and easy to talk to too. I have brought lots of friends to him.
Im Asian and I have lots of thick hair which is really hard to cut. My style is simple but it took me a few years to find the stylist that could give me the right look. I tried 10 hairdressers after I moved to the Seattle area and I was not happy with the look to say the least. Finally I found Joey. The first time I went in I brought a picture of my ideal look (Anybody else is Jennifer Aniston fan?) And that was what I got.

Joey is the modern-day stylist, always ready to answer your call on his 'cyborg' earphone, and immediately able to schedule your appointment on his handy PalmPilot! He's incredibly skilled, specializing in hair color, and very professional. Be prepared for stimulating, upbeat conversation, creative in-shop purchases, and a chocolate treat for the road!

Before I met Joey, I didnt think it was possible to have a good haircut with my fine, straight and calic-y hair. Since Ive been going to Joey (about 5 years), Ive gotten numerous complements on the cut and color. My friends and even total strangers are always asking where I get my hair cut! Joey is always willing to work with me to get the look I want. He keeps up with current trends and I can always trust him to make good recommendations that will look stylish but not over the top. As if great cuts and color werent enough, Joey adds scalp massages, good conversation and follow calls to make sure that I love what I paid for.

I never liked my hair until Joey became my stylist. Now I receive compliments regularyly, even from strangers. The man knows his color and cut techniques like no other stylist I have met. And believe me, I've shopped around. Joey also adds an extra personal touch that can't be topped. I'll continue to drive the 90 miles that I have driven for the last 4 years to have Joey design my hair.

Joey has a natural talent for matching a person to their perfect color. I rely on Joey's mastery of technique to make me look oh so pretty.
Over the past year, hes taken me from boring straight all one length cherry red hair to a deeper more natural red thats magnificently layered.
If youre looking for a stylist who will take time to listen to what you want and give you his undivided attention Joey is definitely your man!

Joey rocks! A friend of mine recommended Joey to me and I've been getting my hair cut from him ever since. He always makes sure that personal style and needs are met before adding his own artistic vision. And I can always expect a call from him a week after making sure that I'm still loving my cut. The scalp massages are also a highlight!
