This place is just the best in the summer! You can go play some Frisbee across the street then come in and relax with a cold one. Their burgers are excellent!

I've lived in Green Lake for 3 years now and this is one spot that I LOVE! Happy Hour is great, servers are friendly. One of my favorite menu items is the Chicken Club Burgers and Fries! Breakfast is pretty delicious as well.

This place is right on greenlake in a cool old brick building. The decore inside is old-school, dark, but there is a view of the lake. The food is really tasty, not cheap, but the happy hour food and drink prices are great, and there is no better restaurant on Greenlake.

My friends and I have a sort of "HH club" where we try different places for HH periodically and we all give kudos to Greenlake Bar & Grill as having one of the most decent HH food for the value. For the prices you get pretty decent sized portions of your basic menu items, such as wedge and Caesar salads, burgers, fries, etc. Drinks specials also during HH.

We have never had a bad experience here. We come here about every 2-3 weeks and even went before a show at Benaroya Hall the other night, (all dressed up.) It's so comfortable there, neighborhood pub, yet family restaurant--is that alright? Sure it is!! The happy hours prices are outrageous-the Blackened Salmon is superb--the Sweet Potato fries are delicious...combine the salmon w/a sm. wedge salad-and viola!--In the summer, you walk around Greenlake, then go to the restaurant. Very friendly service.Highly recommend.Only downfall is they have one potty per gender. But, I can live with that.

As others said, it really is fabulous. The prices are fantastic and the food is good. The problem is that the bar is pretty small. The outdoor seating is amazing in the summer. The people watching is fantastic. You can see everyone out and about walking Greenlake.

Seattle is a city with great restaurants, bars and cuisine, why bother embarrassing yourself by taking a date here and wasting your money and looking like a scmuck for bringing them to such a horrible less than zero restaurant and bar, that even the regulars scoff at. The Grill offers mediocre food that is over priced, bad service not worth tipping on and an environment that makes a morgue look like a rave. Seattle has to many great places to choose from, find a better place to go.

I like this place. The atmosphere is comfortable. The food is good. The service is good. They have a great happy hour and I can take my kids here sometimes and they enjoy it. Parking can sometimes be a hassle - but it's Green Lake!

I love this restaurant. I have been there probably 30 times and I have never left dissapointed. They have great food and drinks and the most amazing happy hour I have ever been too. You can get a plate of pasta for $1.99! It might not be the best pasta you have ever had but it's cheap and it tastes good. During regular hours I always get the raviollis or the burger--both are delicious! I tend to drink mixed drinks and cocktails and while they are a little spendy they are always stiff. They have great servers too; everyone has always been friendly, energetic and attentive, even when they are super busy. The atmosphere is great, it's funky, upbeat and they play great music in the bar. You are never subjected to dreary elevator type music. It's a great place and I recommend it to every one.

I have dined here on several occasions and have left satisfied each time. The happy hour menu cannot be beat--it's so cheap--I especially loved the coconut shrimp for $1.95--a whole platefull!! Though I have not sat at the bar, the drinks I have had there have been great, if not a bit strong on the amaretto sour. I would recommend this as a good place to take a date--not too expensive and the atmosphere is great.

Pros: Great Happy Hour Menu

.

The service was average, the fish tacos were okay. The lobby smells of cleaning products. (Go easy on the bleach next time.) I had the worst pork chop I have ever paid for, dry, flavorless and small. They brought the wrong side dish with the plate. I sent back the rice for the expected mashed potatoes. I should have kept the rice, the potatoes were cold, clammy and tasted like they were from a box.

I say the last time, because it was and will always be, the last time we go there.

We were lured in by the $13.95 three course dinner -- but should have known that it was too cheap to be good! The pasta with chicken literally tasted like Pasta-Roni -- but with less salt -- and the chicken looked like those pre-cooked strips you can buy at the supermarket. My rice was crunchy and the steak came with a huge puddle of thousand island on top -- ew! The only redeaming thing: a gigantic ice cream sundae for the third course -- but you really cant screw up ice cream!

The Gumbo tasted like it came out of a can. The "hallibut" as they called it is nothing more than fish-sticks.

Not the best. I'd give this place a 6 out of 10; a little better than average - but then again I do have high standards. The initial greeting was delayed and unfriendly; we seemed to be an inconveinience, despite the fact that the resturant was nearly empty. The fish tacos were fair, nice flavor. Stale chips and expensive drinks! No refills on strawberry lemonade! The food was overly greasy. Not many healthy options. I don't think i'll visit again.

I have been going to Greenlake Bar and Grill for years and it is one of my favorite places. The atmosphere is chill, the management is super friendly and always willing to go the extra mile. I pretty much exclusively order the burgers, it is my favorite. And the happy hour, like everyone says, is the best deal in town. Just make sure you walk there instead of driving, because they do not skimp on the alcohol!

From the price of things, it would be most efficient to come here only during happy hour, when everything suddenly becomes great. In the few times I've eaten at Greenlake Bar and Grill, there were a lot of people, mostly in their 20s. Being close to the trail helps, since you can circle until it gets dark, then you can stop here for a break.

We love to walk around green lake and had been told that they have a great happy hour. The place is in a perfect location and has a nice outdoor area. The inside however smelled like a diner. Greece and other unpleasent smells. Perhaps the vent system was down that day... I dont know. I would go back again for the GREAT HAPPY HOUR, but I would sit outside!

As soon as you walk into this place, you know you've made the right decision. The beer selection is good although the mixed drinks are a little expensive. The food is hit or miss. The Italian dish I had was greasy, but the nachos were perfect.

The service was horrible. I ordered my favorite grilled chicken club, but requested not to have french fries. The server asked me if I wanted a salad and I said no thanks. She never mentioned that the salad was a replacement for the fries or that the sandwich would still cost the same with or without the fries. I have no problem paying full price for the sandwich, but it's only polite to tell you that it will be full price no matter what you omit. I was pretty upset when I got the bill and found that my chicken club with no fries, no salad, just a sandwich, cost $9.78. When I questioned the bill, she said, "There are no price reductions if you don't get fries. That's why I offered you a salad." She never made that clear until I got the bill.

Perhaps I am not the most picky person on the planet when it comes to rating restaurants but I highly enjoyed my lunch on Saturday. The wait was minimal, the attention paid to us was excellent, and they were quite generous with the alcohol! It's margarita season and this was one of the first 'ritas to taste authentic. My boyfriend and I both ordered the fish and chips and we thought they were excellent. His only complaint was the barbeque sauce (for dipping his fries) was not spicy enough. Oh well. The bathrooms are made for one person, so if the door won't open when you try the handle, it's because someone else is using it! Overall, it was good. The atmosphere was light and friendly, the view was excellent, and we shall return!

The food portions are not large and not very good. The beer is cold and service is fine. It's a cool, casual place, ideal for a meal and nice conversation but just don't have your expectations too high for the food.

The jambalaya in particular would be an absolute joke in New Orleans. The key lime pie I swear was from Trader Joe's and I am not joking.

I love happy hour here. They have great food specials (like full sized burgers and salads for between $2-3) and drink specials durring traditional happy hours, then from 10pm to 12pm Sunday through Thursday. Get the grilled bread with spread, their home made soup, their house salad, or (if meat is your thing) one of their burgers. Going there at happy hour means you'll get a great dinner for a fraction of the price.

Worth stopping in for a beer and a burger. Ordering anything weird off the menu is a bit risky. BUT, if you have a problem - say something. The owner, John, is very happy and eager to solve your problem. Give him the chance to make it better, and he will.
