In Short
Contour draws an eclectic mix of Pioneer Square overflow and scantily-clad clubbers. What this club lacks in size, it makes up for in dedication to partying. The narrow, high-ceilinged space houses a bar and a small dance floor and the place is open all night Friday and Saturday. DJs spin house music that ranges from progressive to deep, and live music ranges from jazz fusion to trance.

Key Points

  • Longest Happy Hour Daily
  • Nightlife Dancing Destination
  • After Hours & Private Parties!

The Inside Scoop

  1. The Extras - Stop by Fridays for happy hour when the DJ takes requests until 7:30pm.

Fabulous food and drinks!

by Anonymous

Contour has great food and drinks! Their Happy Hour is pretty much one of the best I've seen! Well drinks are $3.50, and their food menu is even better! All food items are $1.95, and they have more than just your regular buffalo wings that you'd see on most happy hour menus. They have a cheeseburger and fries, zucchini sticks and even chicken and lamb skewers! Their atmosphere is kind of funky, but they usually have live music which adds to the atmosphere. The bar is somewhat small, and it may be hard to find a table, but once you do, you wouldn't leave either!

trance, breakbeats, at the Contour

by Yvonne B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,293

Contour is a fun club, has after hours, outside patio, but a smaller size dance floor. The music is always on point--one of the main things that brings me back. Unlike other clubs who play the same song over and over, Contour dj's keep it moving with fresh sounds. Monday nights are old school hip-hop, and they also have live jazz shows. My favorite is the trance and progressive dance music.

Interesting

by ilovepeach21

My boyfriend and I decided to try this bar out. He found some positive reviews on the internet and so we decided to make it a date night! The happy hour was pretty well priced, calimari and lamb kabobs for about $3. The drink specials were average for a bar, and the bar tender was kind. However I will say that the table service was not so good. I noticed some of the other reviews have said this as well. We also had a female waitress that was very unattentative and she failed at charging the correct price to my card twice and then did not apologize. Also, my boyfriend gave her $10 for a $7 or $8 drink order and she never gave him back his change, and of course he would have given her the 2 bucks as tip, but in my opinion it is still rude to assume something like that ,as a server. I will be going back to see if perhaps the service might be better a different night but if it is the same as it was the first time i will never visit contour again.

Pros: Great food, good happy hour prices

Cons: poor service

Awesome Happy Hour

by jooz

This place has a really good-looking clientele; which isn't generally what I seek out in a happy hour... but it doesn't hurt. The food was tasty and cheap for what you get, i had salmon cakes and truffle oil fries, and the drinks were good and reasonably priced (not cheap, but not a lame happy hour either). All in all, a great place to hang out after work.

Pros: Great Happy Hour Prices for Food

Cons: Pioneer Square

Favorite HH Spot

by oneupdown

Contour is my favorite place to go for Happy Hour. They have great HH hours which makes it a great place to meet people. Their HH prices on food are affordable and they have a few veg options that are great! The service is always fast and friendly. The servers do a great job ensuring your glass is never empty- have to appreciate that!
Past Happy Hour Contour has great music and a diverse crowd- which makes for a fun night! A few reviews have mentioned it being an unsafe place and I would have to disagree. W

Pros: Great Happy Hour, Good Food, Good Service

Bad choice

by moonsshine

This place is pretty bad at customer service and I am pretty sure that the Bartender slipped some vodka in her own drink. Waitress was rude and unapologetic for her mistakes. Not the best place around by any means. Actually this was the third time I have been and there have been problems each time so I wont be going back.

Pros: Good Apps

Cons: Bad Service

Best Happy Hour and Night Life in SEATTLE!!!!

by Snowgirlz

I love this place!! I work and live downtown and have met friends here on several occasions for happy hour, which lasts late which is awesome for those of us who don't get out of work right at 5!!!! They have cheap food, cheap drinks, and a long happy hour, what else could you ask for! I have also been to Contour for the "club" scene to dance with girlfriends, great music, good looking people, fun place to party and dance all night. Would recommend to all!

Pros: Long happy hour, cheap food, good night life

Cons: nada

Safety is an Issue

by NueroDoc

A group of us visited the Contour for the first time and narcotics were all over the club. We had no less than 20 different attempts to sell narcotics. One individual even placed a note in a ladies purse for after hours sales.

We also had three people in our group become victims of an inside pick pocket. While you are on the dance floor two "individuals" will bump into you and take your wallet or money.

This is NOT a place to waste your time or money.

Pros: NONE

Cons: Lots of crime

Best happy hour in Seattle and a great late night crowd

by goldbeml

Contour has the best happy hour in Seattle with good, quality food for cheaper than you can believe. The drink specials are about average, but happy hour lasts until 8 pm which is great for those who like to have more than one drink after work. Later in the evenings there is almost always a good dj playing and the music isn't the same repetitive, no-talent beat. The crowd seems to be pretty diverse...from younger twenties to early thirties. And if you like to dance or just like to watch people dance it's a good place to spend the evening.

Great happy hour, popular after hours!

by sarunrgirl

My husband and I just moved to Seattle from Texas and went to Contour when we were staying in corporate housing in Belltown. The happy hour food menu is killer. The food is really inexpensive and pretty tasty! I loved the gourmet feel (think Gruyere Macaroni & Cheese). We also went another night with some friends later in the evening. It was packed with a fairly young crowd (mid-twenties to early thirties). I'm not a huge house music fan, but the night we went, the DJ was mixing house with fun stuff like Justin Timberlake. I like the cozy ambiance and found the staff to be really attentive and friendly. I'll definitely go back.

Pros: Yummy happy hour food, fun DJs

Best Happy Hour in Seattle, until 8pm!!!!

by chavobama

This has to be the BEST happy hour spot in Seattle. They offer happy hour 7 days a week until 8pm!!! They have a $1.95 cheeseburger that is delicious, and not a small cheeseburger, the real deal with fries, and great drink specials! Best place to meet friends or co workers, highly recommend it. I have had several other food items off the menu and all are inexpensive and good.

I have read some of the other comments about the after hours, and have to agree. While it is completely different at night, it is also loads of fun. I have gone several times with girlfriends to dance. They have great DJ?s who spin until 4am on the weekends. So if you?re also looking for a great place to dance, this place has also got it!

Pros: Long happy hour with great food and drink specials

Saturday Russian night

by kirillgil007

Though not the best club in world contour offers unique experience on Saturday nights during the Russian nights. This is my most visited club ? bartenders are professional and mix great stuff. Music is mostly great, though the dance floor is usually packed by 11pm on the Saturday. The club is open left so it is a good place for the after hours hang outs. I recommend it to Russians of Seattle or people who enjoy Russian culture (and woman).

Pros: Great crowd, drinks, music

Cons: Crowded past 11pm

Expensive drinks, stuck-up women

by esprittordu

I got in on the guest list to this club through a friend and thought it might be interesting since I've been to Moldova and some other places in the slavic countries, but I was wrong. Not one person in the entire club was interested in talking to me or dancing with me, not even the chubby girls. No wonder Russia fell apart, a dance club full of people who won't dance or talk with a newcomer. Never going back.

Pros: Good music, quick service, polite bouncer

Cons: Expensive drinks ($6 microbrews), nobody wants to talk or dance with non-Russians, too loud

Saturday night intoxicating Russian House music

by coco2royal

Visiting Seattle for a much needed girls weekend. We both wanted to go to a dance club. We tried Havana's on Capital Hill, just too many drunk sweaty 20 year olds, oh yeah and the DJ was in a coma---BAD! We left, came back downtown, passed by Club Contour on our way to another club, never quite made it to the other one. From the moment we walked in I knew it was going to be a fun night. The Russian House music was intoxicating, lots of interesting beautiful people and the quick service from the bartender! The men were handsomely intriguing with their Russian accents. Even the obligatory drunk girl throwing up in the restroom with steadfast girlfriend standing by, just added to the ambiance. We stayed till 4am and loved it! If you want a place to dance your pretty pants off, this is it.

Never Again

by maleficet

I only went to Contour once and it was the worst experience I ever had at a club in Seattle. The woman at the door was extremely rude. My friend's purse was stolen and the waitress couldn't care less when she asked her for help. To complete the evening, we were kicked out of the club by a very LARGE woman, who apparently was the bouncer because my friend and I stepped outside for some fresh air. We went right outside the door for fresh air and they wouldn't let us back inside because we did not have a stamp. My friend and I did not receive a stamp because we arrived before they started charging admission (before 9pm). We tried to explain this to the rude lady at the door, and then had the gigantic bouncer woman kicked us out. I do not recommend going to Contour to anyone. The only good thing about the place is that they make the drinks strong.

Pros: good drinks

Cons: rude employees

Happy Hour

by dmanjam

The Contour has one of the best happy hours in Seattle. The $1.95 cheeseburger and fried and $2 Driftwood Ale combination is the best deal in town. Another nice thing is their happy hour lasts from 3-8, not just the usual 3-6. Try the lamb kebabs and the mushrooms, both $1.95 ea. You can feast with a friend and have several beers for about $25. The only downside is parking is tough. We park for Mariners games near Pyramid and walk the mile or so escape the crowded high cost Pyramid. The walk is interesting and you will need it after stuffing your face for a couple hours.

Pros: cheap

Cons: parking

Love the cheap food and fun crowd. Usually meet some new people if I want to, but not if I don't. Often crowded, however, depending on where you sit you can have a private conversation. Wait staff friendly and flirty.

Pros: Cheap, Good Food, Friendly

Cons: Crowded, Loud

Great experience here

by goosetavo

A friend had a great Valentines Day party here (no cover since we were a large group), and this place rocked! I dunno if it's that cool every Friday night, but I'll definitely be back to find out. Didn't try the food at all, drinks were excellent but the bartenders were a bit overwhelmed by the amount of people. Al in all a good place and I had a blast. Music was mostly hip-hop and dance which is fine, a bit of reggaeton which was EXCELLENT. Pretty average clubbing music.

Pros: Small, Music was good, Drinks were good

Cons: Too few bartenders

Mixed Bag, But Nice To Look At

by nolanandmary

We went for lunch on a Tuesday around noon, and unlike many other reviewers we had no problems with the service. The is amusing, including a plaster mask of a guy sticking his tongue out. As far as food, the Contour Burger and the Tomato Honey Basil Soup are both highly recommended (the latter tastes like an excellent pasta sauce and comes with bread to dip for only $3!). The Vegetarian Panini, however, has a noticeable lack of cooking. Although they claim it's toasted, only the bread is warm. The fresh mozarella is depressingly unmelted.

Pros: Decor, Most of the food

Cons: Vegetarian Panini

Terrible Service.

by chelseam

Went in during happy hour on a Saturday - the place was empty with the exception of 2 people sitting at the bar. Not only did the wait staff stand around and look past us when our drinks were empty, after waiting about 10-15 min, I finally went up to the bar and ASKED for our check. Food was okay, for being only 1.95... but don't order the spanikopita... it was as bad as the service.

Pros: Ourdoor Seating, Neat interior

Cons: SERVICE

Saturday night Russian Music

by stephenneufeld

Contour's Saturday night is Russian/European music night--and it Rocks! The scupltures and art displays give Contour an attractive setting while the dance music is energetic and pumps up the crowd to a fevered pitch...Not for the faint of heart! The bar staff is speedy and warm to the customer. It is sometimes a bit crowded after midnight but, come before 8 p.m. to get great and inexpensive food specials with tasty flavors. There aren't too many places like Contour for good food and fun!

Pros: Great music, Good food, Nice setting

Love Foundry 2am

by beatnickbrown

To experience the finest after hours Seattle has to offer is one thing, to meet the love of your life in the midst of the experience is another. Within the walls of Contour I have beamed the brightest smiles, shared the greatest emotions, and danced into the morning sun with a 97% stellar crowd by my side. The service from the second your ID is glanced, to the unbeatable arsenal of dj's, the pit stops at the bar for those non-alcoholic refreshments, and finishing the night off with the best way anyone could recieve a coat. Nick, Brad, Chico, Zona.... I miss you all, you guys are the greatest.

Pros: people, dance, music

Look, don't eat.

by checkers

Went in for lunch. Waitress was nice. Pasta with alfredo was wildly bland. Waitress did not offer grated parmesian, fresh pepper, or anything else. We waited 35 minutes to be served, at a lunch hour when they had one patron at the bar, and only 2 other tables (who were all ready eating when we walked in.)
Stunningly plain, very disappointing culinary experience, but the ambience is great, to be fair.

Pros: Ambience, mid-priced

Cons: hit-or-miss service, not exciting food

by dancingqueen2002

I've been to Contour 3 times now for the happy hour, and while the ambience is good and the burger was tasty, the service sucked every time. This last visit, the place was pretty empty and it took over one hour to have ONE drink and an appetizer!! So only go to Contour if you have a lot of time to spare and you don't mind feeling ignored.

Pros: good happy hour

What about Saturdays !?

by rexec_23

Contour is a killer joint- the bartenders are especially cool. I've been going to Contour on Saturday nights for past 5 weaks and loved it. I really like the people, security, dance floor with all the laser mirrors, unique. A great place to have fun, drink, and chill. It gets going in there, DJ's are cool and nice. On some Saturday, there is too much trance, DJ Speedbump was there he was good but should play more techno, too much trance, he would be better for After 2 AM. Last Saturday DJ NRG was great. Love this place, Hot women too! Good food and great drinks. Gets too packed sometimes... I would recommend this club to friends and would definitely consider going back.

Don't forget Sundays!

by sara25

I've been going to Contour on Friday and Saturday nights and have loved the energy and the atmosphere, even though it's usually too crowded. Last weekend I went on Sunday night and must say I had the most fun I've ever had. Unlike on the weekends there was room to dance, plus the music was rockin'! Drinks are stiff, (and they had $1 Dos Equis!), people are friendly, and it's a great way to wind down the weekend. I will definitely start going more often!
