If i could give this place ZERO stars i would!!

The service was terrible.
The salsa was basically ketchup.

The taco meat appeared to have come out of a can.

My husband and i tried to eat our meals but began to feel ill after only a few

Do NOT believe the other reviews. Worst Mex meal ever! No flavor, all processed and canned.

These guy are awesome!! I first had Mexican food in Snohomish County in 1967 at the age of 4 when my dad took me to a small cafe in Mount Lake Terrace, and I still love it to this day. When i think authentic these guy are as close to what was served in the late 60's in this area, as you can get. Customer for 20 years, don't know the owners but they are doing a great job of keeping the meals consistently very good. Better be hungry when you go here, there regular combinations will definitely fill you up!! It reminds me of the Old Guadalajara Mexican restaurant Downtown Seattle closed up about 1978. This is the last of the Good Old NW Mexican restaurant's. I love the food here hope they keep the recipe's the same! Thanks for all the great meals!! Ken

I have eaten here on several occasions with my mother in law, and we have enjoyed the food each time. The chips are quite yummy )the salsa is not bad either, although I have had better) and the entrees, while big, are good too! The service has always been fairly quick and attentive. We will definitely eat here again.

Mexico Cafe is a decent Mexican restaurant, but it has an undeserved reputation for serving the best Mexican food for the lowest prices. The prices are about the same as other local Mexican restaurants, but the food is just average. The atmosphere is loud and bustling (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). Quick service, average drinks.

You have got to try the smothered burritos and the burritos - enchilada style. You can't find anything like it anywhere else. It is by far the best mexican food I have eaten!!

If you're passing through Mount Vernon on your way to the San Juans (or to take in the Tulip Festival), Mexico Cafe is a perfect lunch or dinner stop. The Skagit Valley is home to thousands of Mexican-American families who play a big role
