I purchased an Elite Queen size mattress on a Thursday Dec 7th 2006 for $475 and they delivered it. I had paid for the haul away service, $10, and the sales person had stated though they usually would only haul away 1 mattress set for this fee, she was willing to haul away 2 sets.

At the time of the mattress delivery, they failed to haul away any of the mattresses.

I called and she said they had forgotten to pick them up. They wouldn't be able to come get them till Monday Dec 11.

So Monday December 11th 2006 I called and asked the driver to pick them up. He never showed up Monday.

Now it is Tuesday. They came, after I called a third time, but they only took half of what they had agreed to haul away.

I called again. She says it is their policy to only haul away 1 set of mattresses. Yes, I tell her, but on Thursday she had agreed to haul away both sets for the $10 fee.

So I call the owner.

This is where it gets insane.

I call Marysville and tell him, please, they need to come get this mattress right away.

I tell him as a consumer, they need to do this. I paid. I tell him I am a writer, and I am more than willing to give a frank public appraisal of my experiences with him. Literally, that is all I said. I did not swear or get heated. I have been a business owner for 10 years, and I know that if you want something done, you keep your cool and shoot straight.

All I want is what I paid for.

Anyhow, he goes absolutely berzerk. We are talking road rage.

Screaming:

'If you are threatening me I will su you!'

'you f***king punk!!!'

'I will kick your a*s!'

'I will ki*l you!'

Then he smashes the phone down and I can hear plastic cracking.

Think twice before using Everrest Mattress.

There are many complaints about them. Poke around online.

Cons: volatile angry owner who does not understand customer service or basic social skills.

If you're in need of a mattress, please look further than Everrest.

This place had great potential. It was a local business, the prices were good and the salesperson at the factory showroom was nice and friendly (and ironically quitting at the end of the week). We purchased a king-sized set for delivery on Monday morning.

Unfortunately, the apartment we were scheduled to move into needed to have its carpet replaced so we called up Everrest to reschedule. I kept in mind the fact that they were going to relocate their factory in a few days and tried to compromise on a delivery time.

Their suggested solutions? Wait over a week for the bed or put it out in the narrow, grody hallway all day until we could move it inside. When I pressed for alternatives, the person suddenly became rude and irate, basically saying he would not work with me, that I had to work with him and that he would not do it "my way". I was taken aback since our conversation started out on a cordial level and before I could respond, he hung up on me and effectively cancelled our order!

They are never getting my business again. I was hoping for some flexibility and more personalized customer service characteristic of a locally-based company. They may charge less than other places but you'll be demanding that money back the way they do business. Please, learn from my experience (and the unsatisfactory record they have with the Better Bus. Bureau) and Everrest Nevermore.
