Pros: Nice old fashioned theater, good prices

Cons: parking is hard to find

I came here a few times to watch a horror film and I felt the theatre itself contributed to a "creepy" atmostphere with its antique-ish decor and older architecture. Neptune is a really quirky little theatre so I doubt anyone would expect modern-day fixtures and high-tech sound, but I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the sound and the comfortable seats. I would definitely recommend this place if you haven't watched a movie here yet and would like to try something new. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're planning on seeing an action movie of some sort unless your options are limited. The prices are reasonable, the theatre itself is semi-clean and parking is limited when it is crowded.

This is a real great place to go check out a movie. I'll tell you why, they tend to cater to people who actually care about thinks like plot and originality. So if you're tired of watching the same old rehashed crap they play at the big theaters, come check this place out. Awesome location and the theater is set up to allow for plenty of great seats.

Seattle has an abundance of excellent theatres, and the Neptune is one of the best. It's one of those old theatres that makes going to the movie feel like a real event. The accommodations are quite comfortable as well. It's location near walkable stores, bars, and restaurants makes its a great dating destination.

PROS: very pleasant theatre
CONS: well, it doesn't have 20 screens like the ultraplex

The Neptune is a slice out of history. The theater opened in the 1920's and maintains its vintage feel and appearance. They show arts films and new releases. While it's not the megaplex of modern day, there's something about going to the Neptune that makes a night out at the movies special. If you're hip, nostalgic, and want to see a flick... the Neptune is your movie theater.

PROS: Great Ambience, Vintage, Nostalgic, Shows Indie Films
CONS:

It's no Cinerama, but it's the second best theatre that Seattle has when you want to watch an epic blockbuster with great special effects or animation. The screen is enormous, and there is ample seating. Even the balcony has a great view! And the sound system is also above average, if not often times way too loud compared to other theatres. Oh yeah, supposedly it's haunted too.

I've seen dozens of movies here over the years and the Neptune never changes. It's creaky, comfortable, with decent sightlines, and it never smells like industrial disinfectant, which alone puts it far above any chain theater in town.

In Short
Maybe it's the old-fashioned balcony or the aging nautical thematics, but this theater has a special atmosphere. When it opened as a silent movie house in 1921, it featured undersea lighting and murals of ancient…
