Brides By Demetrios

I don't usually write bad reviews but the service I received at Demetrios was horrible! I was trying to buy a bridesmaid dress that the bride had picked out at Demetrios. I live in Canada and was unable to make it down to Tacoma to try on the dress until right before the wedding. When I needed to talk to someone in the store it took many phone calls to get someone to pick up the phone or return my phone call. The staff us unhelpful and rude over the phone. When it came time to order my size. The girl argued with me and told me that I was wrong for ordering the size I did and that I should have ordered a size that was much larger than I really am. I had trouble paying for the dress, even though my mother was able to go in person and give them a cheque. That wasn't good enough. I made a special trip down to the store and the girl told me I would be able to try on the dress to get a size. When I got there they put me in a size 2 dress and clipped it in the back! What a waste of a trip. If I knew that I would not have gone all that way. It took forever to get the dress and overall was a very very disappointing experience. Even the bride and the rest of the party had similar problems. Stay away from this store!

I went into Brides by Demetrios and found the perfect dress which I was not allowed to photograph myself in even to show to my mother that is paying for the gown and lives across the country. They also refused to give me the style number so I could direct her to the photo of the dress on the website! I get it that they are a private designer, but Hello the website is public!

The sales team was rude when I entered the store and acted as if they didn't have my appointment down, which was scheduled a week earlier and the associate seemed more interested in hanging up dresses than helping me. She didn't know the answers to any questions and asked me three times for a down payment before I even decided which dress I wanted!!!

She also offered to allow me to photograph the dress if I put down a payment.

What a jerk!

I tried on two dresses and left.

I found a dress that I absolutely loved, but she was so horrible that I couldn't imagine spending $1000 any place where the service was so horrible!

Pros: Beautiful Gowns, Great Selection, Great Store Layout

ITS A SHAME BECAUSE THE DEMETRIOS LINE IS AWSOME THIS STORE OFFERS LIKE 1 OR 2 SIZES TO TRY THESE DRESSES ON AND THEY FIT THEM WITH CLIPS SO EVERYTHING LOOKS HORRID, THE DRESSES YOUR TRYING ON LOOK WORN AND DIRTY AND THE STAFF ESPECIALLY THE NIGHT SHIFT ARE RUDE, UNHELPFUL, AND YOU JUST FEEL UNWELCOMED, I REMEMBER WALKING IN DURING THE NIGHT SHIFT AND BOTH GIRLS LITERALLY ROLLED THEIR EYES AND HUFFED. ON TOP OF ALL THAT THE PRICES COMPARED TO OTHERS IS MORE...

I bought my dress there, but wish I hadn't. From the beginning the staff from the clerks to the manager seemed uninformed, unprofessional and downright rude. They did not seem to care one bit for customer service. They were supposed to be the experts, but really were not helpful at all. I found the staff to be uninformed, rude and uncaring.
They did not seem to be interested in the least in helping me. I actually had the feeling I was bothering them by being there. I am new at this and they are supposed to be the experts, but they were not. They only offer a size 10 to try on so it's really hard to know how it is actually going to fit in your size. Turns out mine is a terrible cut for my body and requires 300$ in alteratons and the entire back to be remade in order to fit me properly. I went outside the store for my alterations because their person is only available one day per week and it's a day that I can't make it. Basically I was unhappy with everything about ths store except that they did have a large selection of dresses to choose from.

CONS: everything else

I went in Brides by Demetrios to try on bridal gowns and had a pretty good expierience. They have a good selection of dresses, though I didnt find a dress for myself there. The staff was really nice, friendly and helpful though, so I was really pleased with that. The prices were pretty comaprable to other salons, though not exactly cheap, ranging from $1000-$3000ish.
