Please stay away from Sleep Country! Macy's homestore in Bellevue is the place to go and I unfortunately bought my mattress from here which I am stuck with.

They lied to me. Instead of getting into a long story of the number of lies, I will tell you that the salesman sold me a mattress as "Firm", but it was plush. I was very upfront about my 3 back surgeries and back issues. Anyway.... these sales people DO NOT know what they are selling you.. nor do they care. My one exchange was ruined because of this jerk and I was sold another bed that didn't work.

HOWEVER, Macy's was willing to work with me and offered to let me exchange any bed that didn't work. I was pleased but because Sleep Country was across the street, I drove over there and looked at their inventory as well. This guy slashed the price of a the mattress he called "firm" for bad backs, told me his return policy was something it WASN'T. I got suckered in and believed him. And who woudn't have? Do people really lie like this??

There is a difference between Macy's and Sleep Country. My girlfriend in NYC will only use Macy's or Bloomingdale's. They have an excellent return policy --- and with back issues, their management bends over backwards to accomodate her needs. She returned a mattress after one year.... and Macy's exchanged it!!!

I understand companies have policies, but when you have salespeople that lie to you about their return policy in order to get you to buy from them on the spot IS UNACCEPTABLE. And further, Sleep Country's sales people do not understand the density of the mattress they are selling you, thus, saying whatever they need to sell you the mattress.

Sleep Country does not see the negligence of having transactions occur in such a manner and it's disheartening. I am out a few thousand dollars. It's not funny. THis is serious. I am sick to my stomach off the low moral alone.

This place is not worth your time. Purchase from a company that will make you first, but more importantly that hires fully trained employees. I don't mind if someone is new... but they need to say when they don't know something and get someone who does.

It's strange here.... management and corporate for the most part did not even allow me to communicate my issue. I've dealt with one closed door after another. People were defensive and combative.... i feel like I've been in the twilight zone!

I will thank Mike, as he was the only one that behaved as though Sleep Country had a customer service division but his hands are tied.

Sleep Country doesn't call back. But trust me when I say that the company policy does not want to take care of you.

I was completely misinformed about the mattress that I purchased there 10 months ago. Prior to purchasing my mattress, the sales guy at the Northgate location informed me that my mattress would not change its firmness anytime soon and that the mattress would remain in the same condition for AT LEAST 6 years! What a lie!!! After just 3 months of usage, my back started to feel pain. The mattress did not hold its firmness. When I called to see what my options were they said there's nothing they could do. I was past my 90 day period and that I can purchase a new one. That is awful. I would have just spent a little more money to buy a better quality mattress if I wasn't misinformed. My mattress retailed for $1,200, but I got it on "sale" for $600.

Check out every other store before going to Sleep Country. It should be your absolute last resort. My bad experience was at the Redmond, WA location.

1. Their prices are not transparent. According to the customer's will power and ability to bargain, the representatives will slide their prices up and down.

2. Their customer service at the store is nice until you've purchased their product and you take them up on their 100 Day 5% Low Price guarantee.

I found that another store had a mattress one step up from what I had just purchased for half the price I had just paid at their store. At the competitor's, the firm and the plush models for that mattress were priced the same. This is what transpired after I went back them (after only 1/2 hour of purchasing the product):

1. The rep offered to match the competitor's price for the model that was one notch below the competitor's (which I purchased) after much haggling. There was no talk of the 5% below competitor's price guarantee.

2. Finally they offered to sell me the same model that the competitor had for 5% more than the competitor. I purchased because I didn't want to go back to the competitor since I was short on time that day.

3. However, I had forgotten to address the question of what would happen in a comfort exchange situation. If I didn't like the plush and wanted to exchange it for the plush, would I be able to exchange it at the same price? The answer was NO! On top of that the sales rep said, "What is it?" I didn't understand his question. And then he said, "What is it? YOU ALREADY GOT A DISCOUNT, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT?" This was less than 5 hours after having purchased it.

What I plan to do:
This is the morning after I sat on the rep's unacceptable disposition. I plan to cancel my order and go with the competitor. They have the same guarantees plus the prices are transparent. Every store has the same price for all their products and there's no haggling or bargaining involved. Additionally, the plush and the firm models are priced the same in case I have to do a comfort exchange.

When I made the decision to purchase a new mattress set I started researching mattress companies on line before visiting the stores.

I shopped several stores and although I read negative feed back on Sleep Countries products and services I went to their store to check them out for my self. The sales person was very nice. I told him about the negative things I had read on line about Sleep Country??s products and services and he said I would not have any problems so I decided to make the purchase.

I was delighted with my bed until I started to notice that on one side of the mattress when you sit down there is a loud ??thunk? noise. I walked around the entire bed sitting on every inch of the mattress. The entire mattress was firm and supportive accept in this one spot. This one particular spot on the mattress sinks down farther than any other place on the mattress and makes this sound when you sit down.

I called the store that I purchased the mattress set from to find out what my options were and was asked if I wanted a comfort exchange or have someone come out to inspect the mattress.

Not knowing (nor advised of store policy) I choose the comfort exchange because this mattress is clearly defective. I was told someone would call to schedule a time to bring out a replacement mattress set.

With no notice I received a call Feb 01, about 8am from the delivery driver saying they were at my front door with my mattress set. I advised them I was on vacation in Las Vegas but my mother was there and she would accept delivery.

When I returned home I found the same problem with this mattress but worse?..both sides of the mattress sink down and have the ??thunk? noise when you sit down.

I called the store and was informed that since I had one comfort exchange I would now have to exchange the mattress under warranty. I called the warranty company. They emailed me a form to fill out and return then scheduled someone to come out and inspect my mattress.

I called April 13th to get an update on the mattress and was advised that they determined that my bed frame is the problem. (I have never had a problem with this frame until I put their mattress set on it). I told them that I would change the bed frame. They advised me that since the bed had already set on the frame the warranty is null and void.
I have made a complaint to the BBB and also disputed the charge with the cc copany.

Come one, come all, for the Sleep Country USA's last ever $99.00 any size mattress sale!
We entered the store. A salesman was busy with a customer, but was soon attentive. When he approached, I jokingly said " I want to buy the most expensive luxury bed you have! He smiled, while I added " However, we are here to see what you have for your $99.00 sale. I told him that my mattress had actually delivered on it's 20 year guarantee, and had become a hammock. I explained that I was disabled and my back was the issue.
He said that they were here- at the back of the store. When we arrived, he pointed at a thin blue institutional looking mattress and said "That's the one!" I said "The one?" "Yes." he said. There were about eight or so twin beds there. He said to try each of them to find our 'comfort level', at which time he would come back.
Only problem was, there were hundreds of dollars difference (all up) between each comfort level. To start with, the $99.00 mattress had no padding. It was a wire frame with maybe an inch at best of any kind of insulation. I would not camp on this thing for one night let alone offer it to a guest. Dirt and straw would be more comfortable.
He pointed out sets, which were rows up. They were actually priced as sets, byt, no one in their right mind would pay the thousands of dollars for them as they were priced.
One potential customer who was given the same pitch as we were left the store at the same time we were. His comment was "As soon as he pointed out that mattress, I decided not to look at anything else. "I won't do business with a company who uses 'bait and switch' tactics. I'm leaving!"
Bottom line- I told this 'gentleman' that I was disabled and on a low fixed income. The need to find an affordable mattress was a matter of utmost importance to me and my health.
This company used a tacky blue wire-framed mattress worth maybe thirty bucks to weed modest income people out of their store. I don't know what Sunny Colby Cook (sic?) was like.... but I think she at least had enough conscience to be able to sleep at night.

Although I miss Sunny Kolby Cook on those
Sleep Country ad's, the store itself still is
a great place to find a mattress at a good
price. I tried another similiar store and
was disappointed. Sleep Country still
has the bargain.

Yes, this place like all bed places have the creepy sales person who asks too many questions and follows you around. The prices are ok but they have several choices, which is the most important part of the shop. The beds are top quality!
There are several locations for your convienience in Seattle and surrounding areas.

I went shopping for a King size bed and new I would pay a huge price. Curt helped me find the most comfortable bed for me at the price I needed. He even asked me how much I could spend when I told him it was too much and changed the price on a few things so it was exactly what I wanted to spend. That's a deal.
