I frequent this theatre quite a bit for a number of reasons. The Oak Tree Cinemas is in close proximity to Larry's Market, Starbucks, Qdoba and some other restaurants/eateries which is convenient.

The parking is ample and I usually have an easy time finding a spot. It is, as expected, more crowded on the weekends than weekdays so sometimes street parking is necessary.

The seats in most of the theatres at this location are very comfortable as they were recently renovated. There is, however, a few theatres that have yet to be renovated as well and those seats are rather uncomfortable to sit in. The bathrooms are upstairs only which can be inconvenient when you have to go during a movie but they are fairly clean.

The staff for the most part is friendly. Although no outside food/drinks are allowed in, they do allow coffee from Starbucks for some odd reason which is nice as most theatres do not allow this.

Matinees are cheaper here than at other theatres that offer special matinee prices.

PROS: Cheap matinee prices, good location, new seats, friendly staff
CONS: Bathrooms need better servicing.

The parking lot is HUGE, and yes, there are even parking spots in the neighborhood, on the street! Having moved here from Chicago, if you think it's hard to park at Oak Tree Theatres, let me clue you in. Don't ever go visit a major city.

Pros: parking, multiple movies

Wedged on the edge of a rather diverse plaza where one can shop, eat, and become both caffeinated and inebriated, Cineplex Odeon Theatres Oak Tree (its formal name) is a groovy place to begin or end your evening. Grab your movie drinks and snacks next door at Larry's Market to avoid the cinema's snare trap of unreasonably priced, less-than-fine food selection. As for its movies, variety is understated (well, that's Hollywood for you), but there's always something for the kids, the ladies, and the machismo in all of us. Despite the diverse neighborhood encircling the theater, the hugest disappointment is the absence of at least one quality foreign language or independent picture. Still, the average moviegoer wont mind at bit.

What is there to say of the Oak Tree? Pretty good parking (free - take that downtown theaters!), fairly good selection, seats aren't as comfy as a brand new theater, but its just fine. Larry's Market is handy next door with great BULK CANDY. Yum. Smuggler's paradise. Just one pet peeve. Why the hell are the bathrooms upstairs????????

The Oak Tree is convenient, which is why it thrives. There is also free parking as an encouragement to the parking-karma-challenged. Typically showing seven films at once, you can find everything from slasher films to mushy girlie movies. While the seating isn't the best and the theater was definitely decorated in the 80s (covered in neon colors and tube lights), you can see your movie in peace, for relatively cheap, and get free parking.

While oaktree is the only theater in the north end that provides a variety of movies, they are also terribly staffed. After you spend half an hour trying to find parking, the ticket counter people are very slow, and often the managers who work the ticket booth are the slowest. I have had a coulple of run in where the managers and workers were so rude that I didn't want to go back. The lines for food are not much better, with slow service and people who often forget your order and have to ask you many times. They have a very high turnover rate, so finding someone who knows whats going on is almost impossible. Once you are inside you will find many of the seats uncomfortable and springy. Having gone to this theater most of my life I think I am safely qualified to not recomend it.

The staff there are friendly, the seating was ample on a weekend, and it's just a solid movie theater all around.

Pros: Great service, Short lines

Nice, clean theatre, but the ticket lines can be so long and the ticket takers slow especially in the summertime. You have to get there early.
