Went and saw a comedy show and had some tasty food from the Wild Ginger kitchen. Best dinner theater in the Northwest. How can you go wrong for $20 a head.

This is a very cool place right downtown that's great for a chill happy hour, often times with live music, or for a full out concert later on. There is seating right at the bar, tables to stand up at, or big booths to sink into with a group. Great drinks at decent prices.

Pros: door to door

Cons: what do you think?

I sometimes come here to listen to music on a slow weekend - it's free, it's not too bad, and there's a good amount of places to sit.

The main reason I'm giving this place 3 stars instead of more is the service. Almost every single time I've been here, I have been purposely ignored by bartending staff too busy to take my order. The last time I went, the girl who cleans dishes came by 3 times to apologize and assure me she asked the bartender to pass by. Total wait time for a drink: 25 minutes.

Pros: Free Jazz weekly

Cons: Service, Service, Service

I used to like going to this place, though the service was never friendly or quick. The happy hour prices are great , the food is pretty good and I like the live music. However, I am never going back to The Triple Door.

I was part of a group of 8 that met at the Triple Door last Saturday night at around 730PM, hardly prime bar time on a Saturday. The place wasn't too crowded and there were 5 bartenders behind the bar. However, when we ordered our drinks, only 6 of them came. No big deal, the waitress said that they'd be right out. We waited 10 minutes. Couldn't find our waitress (or any waitress). Waited 10 more mintues. My boyfriend got mad and went up to the bar to ask (nicely!) for our drinks. The bartender (not making drinks but leaning on the counter) said that the drinks would be right out. Waited 10 MORE minutes. We finally flagged down our clueless waitress. When we told her that we were still waiting for two drinks, she said, "Oh, I think the paper is out back there." NO "I'm sorry." No panicked, "Oh no, I care about my tip and I should make sure these people get their drinks right away" reaction. I asked her what that had to do with it and she said that they probably didn't get her electronic order because they were out of paper. I'm sorry honey, but obviously they did get the order because 6 of the drinks came. She never apologized. We finally got the drinks 10 MORE minutes later (a total of 40 mins late!), when everyone else was done. To make matters worse, this happened 2 MORE times that night- a drink was always missing and the careless, vapid waitress and lazy bartenders never seemed to mind.

My friends, family and I have all worked in the service industry for years and I know the difference between service where 'things go wrong' and service where the servers do not give 2 cents. This was the latter and I am not sorry to say that we did not give them 2 cents either. I have never been treated so negligently and I'm still peeved about it!

Pros: Drinks are ok...

Cons: ... if you ever freaking get them

I consistantly bring all my out of towner guest into The Triple Door and they always LOVE it ! I've never had a bad experience with the waitstaff, they are always attentive and around when you need something.

Try the 7 flavored beef or the seafood noodle dish - the best !

The venue itself is nice but food is terrible. My shrimp tasted like rubber band. I paid $16 for my rubber band dinner. If anyone wants to go their to enjoy shows, I would suggest to get dinner somewhere else and order drinks there. Drinks are OK and did not taste like rubber band.

A hidden gem in downtown Seattle, The Triple Door's trivia night on Mondays is always great times and a great deal on top of that! It starts at 10:30PM, winners get money off their tabs (no buy in either!) and its industry night, 33% off. The always entertaining Paul Jensen of the Dudley Manlove Quartet is one of the hosts.

My boyfriend and I had our first date at the Triple Door. On our second visit I wanted to surprise him with a romantic night out. A few weeks before the show I emailed the staff to see what special touches could be done to make the night even more amazing. The staff especially Lauren Ragen went above and beyond my expectations to make the evening incredibly memorable. She was patient and understanding of all my requests and million emails! The night of the show everything went wonderfully- leaving my boyfriend speechless! Thank you for everything. Pros: Highly Romantic

Very date night place to go without being too contrived. Triple Door has a pulse if you know what I mean, has an energy, a really kind of sensual vibe about it. But then again, I love jazz. In any case, great place to change things up from the average dinner. Basically dinner and live jazz show. The seating is pretty cool. Imagine a dimly lit concert hall with the half-round booths and little table lamps. A little dressier than the average seattle gig too. The menu was not really all that noteworthy, but has something for everyone. The best part about this is the ambiance.

If I didn't live in the Bay Area I'd drink Cantelope martini's and eat shrimp toast every day. Beautiful space and good service (Shawn is charming). I highly reccommend it!

Ive been to the lounge section several times, and all of them were well relaxed next to a cocktail. Come here looking for a few cocktails and a snacks - the combination of the two with friendly bartenders (during my experiences), and semi-private booths, make the Triple Door worth bringing a few friends to. The cocktails are fine, and the duck is surprisingly very tasty! The duck comes with buns and sauce just like in Chinatown. The lounge is kind of split, with the majority seated on barstools, a few booths on the side, and fewer tables near the aquarium. The booths are a nice addition: to get away from the noise. This location seems to be mostly used as a meeting point before/after the theater downstairs, and Ive never seen half full. This isnt the spot, but its a decent joint to chill out just for a bit.

Joined some friends for the Labaja show at The Triple door and was blown away by venue! The food was fantastic, service was friendly and accomodating not to mention great wine selections. The show rocked! Especially after a couple shy strangers got the dance party started! The whole experience made for one of the best shows I've seen in a while. We moved to the lounge after for a nightcap and the bartenders were great. Be sure to ask for Kim, she makes a mean martini!

This is a great place to watch a concert. It is set up like a Vegas lounge with big booths for you to sit at. The Triple Door is connected to the Wild Ginger and you can order dinner, drinks and dessert from your server while you watch the show. Though the food at the Wild Ginger is not fantastic, it is fun to eat while you enjoy a live band. Beware, the drinks are expensive and can add up if you aren?t careful!

I love the great happy hour every day... $3 drinks and apps!! Everynight free music in the lounge... great place to take a date or sneak away for one by yourself. Everytime I pop in the cute bartending staff always remembers me! The Triple door is a great Seattle secret.

Great place to see a live show, the view is great wherever you sit but the service is terrible. If you don't mind being trapped at a table and dealing with idiots who are crammed up next to you and talking on their cell phone during a show then this is the place for you. I asked one of the staff to tell the cell phone talker to take her call in the lobby (it even says to turn your cell phone off during a show on the menu) but he ignored my request. The drinks and food are mediocre and overpriced and take FOREVER to get to your table. The only thing that made the evening enjoyable was when the idiot cell phone talker decided to get up and leave during the first set and not come back. So, thanks Triple Door....for nothing.

I've been to the live theater area 3 times and each time the sound was great, the atmosphere relaxed and the service attentive. Note: This is not the bar area which also has live music of wildly varying quality and is incredibly crowded with slowwww service. It's essentially a $20 entree restaurant of which there are many with tastier, more original food within a few blocks. Drinks in general are very good (they have a very nice but small wine and specialty beer list (delirium tremens anyone?)) although high in price. Overall a really nice place to see live music but maybe eat somewhere else.

Along with the other reviewers, I agree that the service in the bar is horrific! We were seated at the bar and my friend had to ask the bartender 3 times for a lime.

Service in the theater, however, was excellent, even if the food was overpriced and real average. (Surprising, as I think Wild Ginger normally has good food.) Although I highly recommend the Molten Chocolate Cake.

While the theater setting is beautiful, and you can see the stage from all seats, being trapped at a table for the show is annoying. But that may be more appropriate at a jazz event than the show I was there to see. Sound system is outstanding.

We went to the Triple Door for the first time this past weekend to see a fantastic show by the Dudley Manlove Quartet. What a fantastic venue. Beautiful decor, great service and sound.

I recommend getting there early, you can be seated as early as 5:30 PM, but we arrived at 6:00 PM and were the first seated. It is all first come first serve.

The only disappointment of the night was the food. It wasn't bad, but is expensive. My SO is vegetarian, and we wrongly assumed there would be many items that were vegetarian. The food was all too strong on one flavour and not complex.Next time we'll go without food or just get one appetizer.

Great place to see a show... However, your plans include a few drinks and some food beforehand in the bar - don't count on it. Service is slow and unenthusiatic... The food arrived before drinks and silverware. However, once able to eat, the food excellent - as it's from the kitchen of Wild Ginger. Afterwards, had to find the server to get check in order not to miss show! I chalked this up to one bad experience - and gave it another try... This time taking a seat the bar. Strike 2. Next time, I'll have my drink and food upstairs at the Wild Ginger prior to the show. Thumbs down for Triple Door service.

Recently, several friends and I met at the Triple Door prior to a show. While it was a busy Friday night, we waited over 30 minutes for a server to come to us. Once we ordered drinks, it took another 20 minutes to get our drinks. Drinks or food were brought to us by anyone *other* than our correct server. Either she was in the weeds or just a cranky, surly incompetent server. The drinks were hugely overpriced. And the app portions didn't reflect the high price. The only reason I'll continue to go to the Triple Door is for the shows. The service completely sucks.

Arranged a happy hour event on short notice at The Triple Door for a large group in Seattle for a national meeting. Nina Krall, the group accomodations rep, was very helpful and accommodating and worked with me through varioius fits and starts in planning this little event. The group loved the ambience of the Triple Door bar and the good value on the appetizer plates and drinks. Bar staff were friendly and fun and put group at ease. Show room is gorgeous and elegant, with great acoustics, and the private rooms are a great value for a group event. I'm hoping to do a holiday event there, now!

Who knew you could find a packed bar on a Sunday night? I was walking back to the garage after a great meal at the Wild Ginger, when I was pulled inside the Triple Door by the sound of Latin music. Once inside, I found at least 100 people enjoying Arturo Rodriguez's latin quintet! They had cleared a space for a dance floor, at it was full of dancers, some of them really talented! My server was friendly and knowledgeable. She showed me the "big room", which was awesome! Can't wait to go back and see a show there. Most places with dancing charge a cover. It was nice to go in and have money in my pocket for what turned out to be a terrific dessert! I'll be back this Sunday!

We almost let the two negative reviewers talk us out of our first visit to the Triple Door. The draw of Danilo Perez won out, and lucky for us we took a chance and went.

This place is cool ans swank, and the service was perfect. We didn't eat dinner, just an appetizer and drinks. There was no pressure, but the server seemed always to be around when we needed anything. He was very cool and complemented the atmosphere. We noticed other tables around us who seemed to enjoy his service as well.

This is a great, albeit pricey spot. Worth saving up your bucks for a romantic evening with good music.

We noticed other tables around us who seemed to enjoy his service as well.

This is a great, albeit pricey spot. Worth saving up your bucks for a romantic evening with good music.

Pros: atmoshere, service, live jazz

.

Went last night (sunday) to listen to what was advertised as "Latin Percussion". Got there at 8:50, there were 3 other tables and waited 15 minutes for someone to approach us and ask us if we wanted drinks. Another 15 minutes and the drinks arrived. No straws, no napkins. The band is not Latin Percussion, it's Latin Jazz, which by the way was not the greatest, especially during it's many off key moments. I'm glad we ate at the Wild Ginger before hand, because we would have starved waiting for service.
We will try again, on another evening. Hopefully the music will be better next time. The atmosphere is actually really nice, but I see why their business is dying (see Seattle Weekly's article 3/08/04).

Pros: nice atmosphere, great aquarium, plenty of open tables

Cons: , horrible service, horrible service

.

Great atmosphere, but terrible service. It took over 45 minutes to get a served and the waitress was rude when she brought it. Being a new bar, I hope they can get it together soon.

This place rocks! The sound system in the best I have ever heard, anywhere. The theatre is beautiful and the bar is swanky. The servers are nice and attentive.
