Gosh I have always liked this resturant and have most likely eaten in most of them on the WA coast with no problem except cannot find 'all you can eat crab, lately'. However, that said, Anthony's on the waterfront in Gig Harbor is another story. I have eaten there twice and became ill each time - first time I thought the food may have been left too long on the steam table or was the previous evenings leftovers -
the second time, again, I hurried home before becoming ill - and this morning my dinner companion said she was not feeling well and was blaming a dip .. mine meal was cajun rock fish w/some
sort of fruit sauce ... Hey, this was a free meal from the last visit.
I seem to be addicted to the restaurant (memories of all you can eat crab in Everett or Des Moines), so can't count them out ..
but I have been married three times each lasting over 6 years, so I do not give up easily ....

Even though I think the restaurant is a bit overrated, I find myself continually going back to Anthony's. Even though the breakfast potatoes are saturated with garlic, the brunch is wonderful. I love Anthony's because of the friendly staff. They accommodate those of us who do not want to sit next to noisy kids.

Thanks to the staff!!

While the food is good as expected, the view is good as expected, and the waitstaff is good as expected, it still doesn't really live up to it's surroundings. The food is naturally pricey. If you are all adults you are better off eating in the bar area and getting a better deal on appetizers than in the mail area. We have eaten here and at the other locations and they all have that same feeling. Hurry up, figure out what you want because we are going to serve it to you quickly so you can get out and make room for the next group. It's fine if you have some place to be in a hurry but if you are out for a special time it can be very uncomfortable. All of the Anthonys are loud as well. If you are heading out for a special evening I wouldn't come here. If I was out with all my relations and I wanted to eat and be done with the crew I would definitely come here.

We had dinner Sunday evening August 12, 2007. We were seated by the door leading to the outside deck which was drafty, especially each time the door opened..which was frequently.

While our waitress was friendly, she evidently wasn't being well-supported by the other waitstaff, as it was a long wait for 2 glasses of wine. Our salad and soup took a long time coming, such that we were still eating them when the main course arrrived. The bread was unremarkable.

My mahi mahi was supposed to be "macadamia nut encrusted" but it was mushy not crusty at all. There were a pile of whole macadamia nuts on the plate, though. The overall impression was that it was very mediocre food and service for the price. We also weren't asked what type of starch we preferred for either dish.

Last but not least, the blackberry slump was watery...again, quite mediocre. I left quite disappointed and won't likely return.

With the water views, the polite waitstaff, and excellent food, it all makes for a perfect evening. Dine Monday - Thursday before 5 for a special meal.

PROS: they take reservations

When Anthony's finally came to Gig Harbor, it was a great day for the locals, as well as anyone wanting to enjoy a pleasurable dining experience at a fine waterfront restaurant. Any menu item featuring fish is a good choice but they don't do too bads on steaks either. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary by sharing a table on the deck. It made for a very romantic evening. One thing to note: this restaurant used to be the Shoreline. When it was, the noise level was often almost intolerable. Now, however, you can actually hear yourself talk. Wait staff are very helpful, service is very good and prices are very competitive. Anthony's is an excellent choice -- either for a night out or for a special occasion.

PROS: Great views of the harbor. Friendly and helpful staff. Outstanding food.
