I love this store and always spend too much in it! They always have great customer service and their merchandise is always a high quality. They have a great return policy and have good deals.

I love REI. Although the downtown store is really the most incredible place to find anything and everything for sports, this location is ok. Could be larger but ok.

I love this place sooo much that I can't ever go there! They do have everything you need (and don't need). You can become a member and get $ back at the end of the year. Yes, they actually mail you a check! If you go to REI's beautiful downtown Seattle store you can even try your hand at rock wall climbing...

I still have to appreciate the products they provide the the people who love any type of outdoor activity. Hey this location is the REI headquarters! The store is HUGE! You want it, they have. Seriously! Shoes, bikes, clothes, backpacks, camping gear, etc. I could go on. Oh. They have a really cool/large climbing wall. There is also a food court somewhere in the building.
On top of that. The customer service is stellar. I have always had fun when visiting the store.

PROS: they have it all, quality, activites, healthy fast food, customer service
CONS: the large building mat seem overwhelming at first

When my mother visited me from the Midwest this past winter, I decided we should do something weird and fun -snowshoeing at Mt. Ranier!

Being a total city girl, I of course had none of necessary equipment for such an adventure. We headed to REI to rent everything we needed, and everything they had! We were excited to get there find that we could easily rent and use the snowshoes, but we were surprised by the price. It cost us each about $30 a day to rent these things, which to me, is a lot. I then asked them about other items for rent, and found out that a simple camping adventure (renting a tent, a sleeping bag, stove, etc), could set you back a small fortune. I am more inclined to buy these items now, knowing the rental cost.

Regardless, our trip was so fun, and all our equipment worked beautifully, so it was worth every penny. Best selection in the area in my opinion, just be careful about renting lots of stuff if you are poor - little things add up!

PROS: Best local selection of equipment - they have almost everything for rent!
CONS: Rent costs can be pricey.

REI has the best selection of unique Pacific Northwest gear. They also have great sales on many occasions. I went there for a last minute Christmas gift and not only did they have exactly what I was looking for, but it was on sale 25% off! I love their "city packs" that are good for laptop bags. They also have wonderful ski equipment and outfits and everything else you might need for an outdoor experience. Their prices are affordable and they have online shopping, too!
