The staff at Edgewood Vet although very busy at times are always courteous and caring when helping you and your pets. They take the time to listen to your concerns and answer questions that you have no matter how stupid they may sound! haha! The prices are great too! I will continue to take my pets here for years to come! Thanks Dr. Joe, Dr. Peggy and Dr. Vicki!

I've taken literally hundreds of dogs to Edgewood Veterinary Clinic over the past 10 years, with excellent experience and results. I run a dog rescue group, and we bring all our rescued dogs to Edgewood to see Drs. Eberhardt and Mazukelli. They have worked on problems large and small, and if it's any indication of how satisfied I am - I drive 45 minutes up from Olympia to take not only the rescue dogs but my own personal dogs up for care here.

Very caring, competent, reasonable, and straightforward. For specialty care they will refer out as needed, but the range of services that they have provided to the dogs in my care has been very broad and really excellent.

I recommend them all the time.

If I knew then what I know now--I took my healthy 4 year old cat in to have a wobbly tooth removed. This Clinic told me he had "some sort of infection" and wanted to do a full blood panel to ensure that he wasn't in kidney failure. I knew from having managed veterinary hospitals in the past that my young cat just needed this tooth removed and antibiotics afterward. I opted to give him antibiotics for afew days to clear up the infection, then bring him in for the tooth extraction. But no.

Instead, they kept insisting on the blood work-which they ended up performing with no appreciable result. His kidneys were fine. I left my 4 year old cat there over night for the surgery--I received a call in the morning stating that "he wasn't doing so good."

When I arrived to pick him up I was brought to a room and they brought my cat to me. I was told to let them know when I wanted them to put him to sleep! He was comatose! He was covered in the wet cat food that they had attempted to force feed him with. Of course I was shocked at his state-I didn't want him in any pain and said, "give him the shot now." In hindsight I should have just let him stay comatose. He probably only had a few hours left to live anyway.

These shameless people were sure to wring every last cent of this bill out of me--over $600. That includes the fees for force feeding and euthanasia. I guess I should be thankful that they didn't bill me for the blood work. This blood work showed that he had all of the normal organ function levels for a 4 year old cat--BY THE WAY.

My dog was 'misdiagnosed' w/ congestive heart failure. The vet also could not read that her xray showed pneumonia!
I went for a second opinion at another Vet. My dog does NOT have CHF, she has a collapsing trachea [which is common in small dogs] She is healthy.

A friend of mine took her cat there for 'teeth cleaning'. The tech called her at work a few hours later and said they ACCIDENTLY de-clawed her cat!

Another friend of mine recently took her 2 year old cat in for crystals in the bladder. The vet claimed to be unable to put catheter in...called her at work [friday at 5 p.m.] telling her this, gave her no options and wanted to put him down. Hysterically, she did as the VET recommended.
She went up the next morning to get her dead cat. The staff did not put her in a room and show her out a back door....They brought her cat to the FRONT DESK in a plastic bag [with other patients in the waiting area watching!] She is inconsolable at what has happened.

My whole life we've always taken our pets to these Veterinarians, and they always treat you like your their favortie patient. If you're a new patient, or you get a new dog. They give you a puppy package full of everything you could possibly need to get started. Everyone is very nice, and they are gentle with all animals. I like it because it's very comfortable, and you feel like you're the only focus this doctor, or assistant has.
