Okay so my experience with Claim Jumper was not a good one. I have been here twice and the first time was in 2008 and the food was pretty okay then but this time when I went now in 2011 was horrible.\r

I'll make it this review quick. No parking. Wait was OK. Bathroom floor covered in urine. Waiter was scarce/slow to serve drinks. Food was barely warm, not hot. My steak was rare, ordered medium. Too many negatives for me...

Always awesome and delicious. There are long waits if you go peak times. But always worth it. Always take my Dad here when he is visiting. He loves the big platefuls.

Claim Jumpers is a great place to go if you are starving. The portion sizes are HUGE! You will definitely need a doggie bag when you leave. The restaurant is very cozy and the service is great. The food is good as well.

This is a great place to go before 5:00 pm - you can get right in, and you can order from the luncheon menu (cheaper, but same portion as dinner). They have some great choices and portions are large.

I've been to the Claim Jumper in Tukwila twice now, and I won't go back again. Both times, the service was ridiculously slow, the staff was rude, and the food was mediocre at best, not to mention overpriced.

The first time, we waited half an hour for drinks, as we couldn't get a server to come by our table. After 20 minutes I went back to the hostess stand to make sure that they hadn't seated us in a closed section by mistake, and finally we got some service. We had a similar experience the second time, only this time the hostess forgot to seat us altogether. We were the only party waiting in the nearly deserted restaurant and after 15 minutes (we were told it would be 5 minutes) we inquired how much longer, and the girl was a total snot and said that they had been paging us. Our pager never went off, and we were sitting 5 feet away from the hostess stand and were the only ones there!

The last straw for me was on our second (and last) visit when the morbidly obese manager accused my 33 year old brother of "sneaking" sips of his wife's beer, underage. I thought he was joking at first, as my brother has aged well but certainly does not look under 21, but the abhorent man was quite serious and quite rude about it.

I understand that restaurants must be vigilant when it comes to underage drinking, but if this restaurant staff paid half as much attention to serving guests in a timely manner as spying on them, they might be able to get a decent review.

Skip the Claim Jumper. The Cheesecake Factory is right down the street, and for the money, it's a much better choice.

Cons: Tacky decor, overpriced, mediocre food, rude staff, ridiculously slow service

We have been there several times and have a pleasant experiences. Here's a tip: make reservations! We do and have not waited more than 10 minutes. When we waited this long they aplogized and gave us a free appetizer. Our servers have always been pleasant.
It IS a busy place - not what I would call cozy and romantic, but we take three generations there and the menu is large enough that everyone finds something that they like.
Dieters beware: all portions are really for two not one (that's appetizer, dinner salad and entree and dessert.) We try to split whatever we can and still have plenty.

I have been here several times. Most of their food is good, but the service is inconsistent, and there is often a long wait. We like the beer sampler tray, the potato cakes, cheese bread, blue cheese wedge salad, ore cart, and filet mignon. I did not like the Mediterranean ahi salad. Go for an early dinner before 5:00 to beat the crowds.

I love this place. I and my girlfriend's go here to just chat and have a good time when I'm in town. But it seems to me like almost EVERY time I've been to Claim Jumper the service has been horrible. The meal is always fantastic, all of my friend's LOVE their chocolate 5 layer cake. We usually share an app and dessert between the 7 of us! and all fo us always have BOXES to take home after our meals! But sometimes it's not worth the LONG waits to even have someone come to your table, waiting for just WATER and never seeing a manager. A few times our food has been cold, and the server looked at us like it was our fault and scoffed. (trust me, we may be chatty, but once food is put infront of us we are on it like a pack of dogs on the three legged calf!!!)

I would go back, and do when I'm in Seattle. But Bad service really brings down the great food.

Pros: SUPER FOOD! Good Drinks.

Cons: Service

Extremely inept service and all wait staff should have to receive their own service. We arrived at 11:00 and didn't get a drink order until 11:20 and couldn't order until 11:30 and promptly served by about 12:15 (raw hamburger included). Much too long a wait. Theres no excuse for BAD SERVICE! Signed: never coming back again! But my burger was good. We also HAD to pay a 17% gratuity (after taxes)! OOuch!

The selection is great and prices are reasonable. Portions are huge - my daughter and I share a meal and still have enough leftovers for both of us the following day. The southwest eggrolls, french fries, and bow tie pasta with blackened chicken are all very tasty. However, our favorite is an off-menu item - Irish nachos with a cup of chili (not a bowl - the quantity is too much). Great casual atmosphere. We've never tried the desserts because we never have room; think that needs to be a special visit all its own.

I have been going to this Claim Jumper since it opened. We experienced bad service the first time, however, they made up for it with free dessert. Since then, we continued to go to go back. I've been at least 5-10 times, and would go back more often if I could. Their portions are HUGE. Everything is good, but my favorite would have to be the ribs. If you're planning on bringing children along with you, this is the perfect place. Another great thing is, there is tons of shopping around if you have to wait. PS: Their fries are delicious.

This would get a 5 star if it weren't for the normal wait times. They don't take reservations, although if you call when you're on your way, I believe they will put your name on a list. Once you get your food however, it is great! Huge portions make it better to share with others. We just have our kids eat off of our plates so it is comparable to other places in price if you had to buy a meal for your kids. Every time i've eaten there, the food has been fabulous! I haven't ordered anything yet I didn't like.

Claim Jumper offers great food and big portions at an average price. Expect to use a doggie bag here, unless you came straight from a weeklong hunger strike. If you have a party more than 4, you'll definitely need reservations, otherwise you'll be forced to wait a while, especially during peak dinner hours.

Claim Jumper Restaurant has certainly outdone themselves!

Food - wow! First of all, the meals are all made from the freshest ingredients. The taste is out of this world! The items are fairly traditional, but with a highly unique flair! You can get anything from the most home style such as pot pie or roast beef, to good old fashioned barbecue, to simple pizza, sandwiches or burgers, and more! Their sides are the best accompaniment and also quite unique and very flavorfull!

Portions - you will definatly take some home, I don't care how big of an eatter you are! Most portions could feed two comfortably (especially dinner stuff).

Price - is a bit spendy if you're expecting Burger King, but keep in mind the quality and the portions and it's really pretty fair. Ranging from $8 - $25 generally for dinner.

Service - superb! Quick, curteous, helpful, and professional!

PROS: The whole package!
CONS: Not one thing!

I've always enjoyed going to claim jumpers in tukwila. The service is good and the meals portions are large and are worth the price.

It can take forever to get a table here so expect at least a 45 minute wait. The waiting area is nice though and has a fireplace and comfy feel to it.

PROS: good food
CONS: slow to get a table

Claim Jumper has been a favorite of mine since I had my first meal there. The food is so good and you get huge portions of it. Its always been a great environment and great service. The lines do get long, especially around dinner time on the weekends, so plan ahead. But in my opinion, it is worth the wait for what you get.

Alright, I'll qualify this review with this fact: the food at Claim Jumper is usually good.

However, the Tukwila location has some problems. First off, there is ALWAYS a line at Claim Jumper. I have never waited less than ten minutes for a table at any location. The Tukwila location just seems to have longer lines - 45 minutes on a weeknight is silly! We don't dare go on weekends!

I have had two terrible meals at this location. The first was a rack of ribs that was not cooked properly - they were raw on the inside! I can understand a tough rib or a burnt rib - but a raw rib means the person doing the cooking has zero clue. They apologized for the ribs and offered to replace the ribs. I had waited in line for nearly and hour - they could have done better. The second meal was a plate of bow tie pasta that was lifeless, tasteless and just plain bad.

Claim Jumper's prices are far too high to begin with, they need to try harder on food prep. Better service would be nice, too. At best, the service at this location has been medium. I've gotten twice the service for half the price elsewhere. The lack of service may explain the longer wait times.

When we do go to Claim Jumper, we take the extra time to head to Redmond Town Center - that location has an excellent Produce Bar - something else missing at the Tukwila location.

In short, skip this location, there are others.

PROS: Good Food - usually.
CONS: Over priced, under serviced, lower quality vs. other locations.

My husband and I chose Claim Jumper for our anniversary dinner since we had heard such great things about it. We got there at just the right time and were seated right away. Everyone was friendly and the waitress excellent. We ordered the chicken and biscuits to share and they brought it out on two different plates without us even asking them to. The food looked excellent and tasted even better. It was definitely worth the price we paid. The waitress kept on top of filling our water glasses and made sure to ask how we were doing every so often. The booth was comfortable and the lighting perfect. Thank you, Claim Jumper, for a great dinner!

PROS: Great menu items
CONS: Big and can get overcrowded

We got the privelege to dine here while on vacation. I was impressed with amount of food and the quality of the food for the price. The biscuits are lighter than air and wonderful. I wish they had one local.

The food at Claim Jumpers is great and is good value when you consider how much you get. There is enough variety of food for a large group or family. The only drawback is that you have to wait a while. I recommend making reservations or to eat at the bar.

I went here for a Valentine's dinner with my bf and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait...the food was great (we had the spicy jumbalaya and chicken fried steak) the service was great and the food came out faster than we expected. it is a bit pricey but it's worth it because you get A LOT of food on your plate so most likely you will be needing a box!

i've heard the southwestern eggrolls are good but i didn't get a chance to try them.

I don't know why everyone complains about the portions at this place. My wife, son and I go in and split one meal and one dessert, and still carry food home. The prices are reasonable for what you get and it is always a nice restaurant for any occasion. The wait times are insane, however.

As a girl raised in Texas, I know good southern cooking. This is the best Chicken Fried Chicken I've ever had outside my home state. Served with homestyle mashed potatoes and country gravy that isn't all sweet like most places serve, it just doesn't get better than this. Keep it coming guys! I'll definitely be back!

We arrived and were told that we'd have a 20 minute wait. After 40 minutes, our little buzzer went off and we were herded into our tiny table. Our waitress tried to push appetizers (most expensive, of course) on us and when we asked for the check, she came back to the table twice and asked if we were sure we didn't want to take any dessert home before my husband told her we had already asked for the check. To which she replied, "I heard you the first time."
The tri-tip sandwich was more fat than meat and everything was doused in sodium. Don't waste your time here.
