Food and atmosphere  4 Star Rating - Very good

The Hi Spot cafe serves a number of delicious and distinctive breakfasts in an excellent atmosphere. During the summer the outdoor seating is a particular winner. The cafe can get quite busy, although service is always relatively quick. Expect to wait for seating on weekends.

PROS: distinctive menu, atmosphere
CONS: busy

Delicious food, great service!  5 Star Rating - World class

This little place has delicious breakfasts, at a moderate price. There is usually a wait, but there's a front area with tiny tables and a coffee bar, where you can sit down and slurp a beverage before you're seated.

I think what I like most about this place is the location and the building. I love the Madrona neighborhood - it's small but has tons of character; feels almost like it's a small town. But the building that the restaurant is in is really cool, it's like a very small house that's been revamped, tables are squished into a 2nd floor area, but it still has a very comfortable homey feel. Oh, did I mention the food is delicious?!

PROS: Wonderfully tasty food, neat location.
CONS: Can be a bit of a wait, count on one in on a weekend day.

THE BEST BREAKFAST you will find east of I-5 in Seattle. This restaurant is hands down amazing. The atmosphere compliments the food; the restaurant is located in a turn of the century home in the heart of the community of Madrona. There is also outdoor seating in the spring and summer in the garden along the sidewalk. Be sure and try the green eggs and ham!

Cute space, great breakfast, and friendly face 3 Star Rating - Satisfactory

I only have one thing to say. Ask for Greg! He is so nice, everything else falls into place. The food speaks for itself!

Pros: Feels like your at someones home
Cons: parking, but this is Seattle! walk a block or two already!

Great breakfast! 5 Star Rating - World class

I don't go out to breakfast much, so breakfast places are memorable to me-- good or bad. The Hi Spot is one of the good. There were 8 of us who got there around 8am (when it opens) and although we each ordered something different and the food all came at the same time, and service was pleasant and prompt. Most importantly though, the food was delicious. The pancake I ordered was crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy in the middle (no rubber discs here!) and the scones are delicious- I had to get 2 to-go!!

Great even if you don't live in Madrona 5 Star Rating - World class

I love breakfast here on the weekends. It's such a great atmosphere of busy but calmed down with the old house feel around you. I also take a scone for the road no matter one...serioulsly to die for with my latte.

Pros: food, mimosa, location

Best Brunch Date Spot 5 Star Rating - World class

First I must gush about the food... the omelets are stuffed to the brim and over flowing with only the best ingredients (try the northwest omelet), the potatoes are hearty, perfectly seasoned, and never leave a grease pit on your plate, and the side of toast that comes with just about every plate on the menu consists of thick slices of Seattles most whole some artisan breads.

Despite the constant line formed in the foyer cafe, the services is always quick, courteous and more than happy to customize your order. I particularly like being offered a scone or muffin while waiting in the cafe for a table.

Pros: Cute Madrona spot for a brunch date.

Great breakfast spot. 5 Star Rating - World class

I had the Northwest Exposure omelette and my boyfriend had the customized omelette. Both were excellent. They came with home fries and toast. The home fries were pretty good and the toast was very yummy, especially with the berry jam. The place itself appears to be a renovated home, with a bathtub in the bathroom and everything. The decor is cute and modern. The staff was relatively attentive, if somewhat distracted because the place was busy. Even so, we were seated after only a few minutes of waiting and our food came very soon after we ordered. There's no parking lot, but it's in an area where there's quite a bit of free parking on the street. We'll definitely be adding this to our rotation of breakfast restaurants.

Pros: Great food, Friendly staff
