Action Small Appliance Svc is The worst place to go!

by Cuc N.

Sucks that i and all my hairstylist Friends have to use his service. But it's the only place to get clipped fixed. Everytime I go, I dread it. I think to myself that I'm not going to say much to the guy and just drop of my clippers but somehow, some way, he alway manages to say something rude to me that gets underneath my skin. For exaple, I ask him politely, "is there anyhing I can do to maintenfe my clippers so that I don't have to take it in that much becuase the motor wa over heated fruequently?" his response "well don't tht shut shot apart onu counter!" that just one example. It really sucks that I have to pay him to piss me off. I'm going in today to pick up my clippers I already put it off for 2 weeks. I dropped them off 3 months ago. He said it was going to be a week so a month later I go in there and he said he ordered a par for it and it's suppose to come in the next day. That was 2 months ago. So ridiculous!

Lets put this jerk out of business, please read...

by Rose B.

I have had several dealings with this operation and my impression is that this guy truly hates what he does. He is so rude and unfriendly he acts like there is no one else that does this work and so he does not have to be nice to get business. Problem for some of us is this is somewhat true since most of their business is from companies that contract him to do warranty work on small appliances (Oster, Delongi, Braun, etc). So if you can skip this guy I would advise you to do it. I have thrown my last 2 appliances away rather than have them fixed under warranty because this person is so ugly to deal with. I just was given their phone number for "customer service" for a small appliance on the blink only to have this guy answer the phone....I wanted to hang up! Once I verified it is the same place I have had previous bad experiences with I have decided to complain to the company and write it off as a loss. I don't need the aggravation. In the future am going to try and figure out what companies use him before I purchase since the quality of merchandise these days is so poor you really need to be able to use the warranty. Maybe if more people would complain to the company when they are in a similar situation we can put this jerk out of business.

This guy sucks

by David S.

Took an espresso machine machine twice to Action in Seattle for service. First time was OK, second time he dropped off the face of the earth. No calls, no followup, and the same rude treatment documented here. I went to the shop long after the repair should have been done and King said he had no parts and no clue. Called again in another week and he told me the company had sent a new replacement (which arrived at my door that day!). He sure as hell wasn't going to tell me about it.

These guys are the worst, and how they're still in business is way beyond me. "No Action" Small Appliance Service should be run out of town.

worst person to deal with ever

by derek d.

wow what a experience,Starbucks gave me referral to Action small Appliance, to fix a home espresso machine. I have never in all my life dealt with a bigger A hole. Dave king the owner and sole employee is the worst businessman i have ever dealt with by far in 40 some years. called 2 weeks after my machine was supposed to be fixed,Dave told me he had not got to it yet. this was 1 month after dropping it off.I asked when he could look at it he told me very rudely,WHEN HE GOT AROUND TO IT. So i went to pick up machine after all this guy would not get anymore of my business if this was the way he was going to talk to me. After some very rude and very vulgar remarks from Mr. king he finally returned my machine. Oh yea this guy had the nerve to throw my deposit money on the floor, five dollars short no less then after a few more rude swear words he turned his back and swore all the way to the back of his shop. What a experience. Never give this man your business or YOU WILL BE SORRY. Never dealt with a bigger jerk in all my years of doing business.

Rude, Not Helpful, Triple the Price

by Anonymous

Go elsewhere. I can't believe this company is still in business. I was treated very, very rudely. The part that I needed to purchase was three times more than other retailers. Shop around. This store is terrible. Don't waste your time.

one star would be too generous

by Anonymous

I don't normally write reviews, but this one (like many others) is warranted. I sent small animal clippers in for maintenance under warranty. Called ahead to see if any specific shipping needs, was told no. Well, 4 weeks passed, with no clippers. When I called, was told by Dave King he "didn't have them, therefore they never arrived" I asked him to check into it. No response. Another call to him, same thing "If I don't have it here, I never got it-" that's all. I was furious that I had to tell my boss they were "lost". He called back later that day (I wish I was there at the moment) to say he found them behind a carpet cleaner that was in the shop for repair. They had been there obviously the whole time!. They were returned promptly, although the power toggle switch isn't working properly now. I'm so mad, I'm leaving out the expletives. Sorry so long a story. If you're thinking of using them, DONT!!!!

File complaint to BBB

by dick w.

I'd better to skip my story since I start to be angry when I recall my experience with this Action Small Appl. Svc. PERSON. The owner/employee is one of the rudest and dishonest men that I ever met. Very bad service without credit and commitment at all. If you insist to have your item fixed there, please don't try to contact him. Otherwise, please prepare to get tons of lies, junks, and unfriendly words from him which can help you have a very bad day... Will file a compliant to us.bbb.org to keep this kind of bad service away, not only for unhappy customers like us, but for more happy customers!

Worst service ever

by Anonymous

This is feedback for the Bellevue location

The primary owner/employee at this store is downright rude and unfriendly. He tries extra hard to increase customer pain and refuses to give work order number / receipts for warranty repairs

Rude, Obnoxious and Slow (STAY AWAY)

by Anonymous

The two owners of Action in Bellevue and Seattle are brothers and they are both bastards. They overcharge for items and service. They also do not follow through on timing of repairs. If you have to return something (the next day and never used), they will not do it. If you can prove a "valid" reason for doing so, they will charge you a 5% return charge. They are the two worst business people I have ever had contact with. Zero customer service...

Rude, rude, rude!

by Colleen K.

I took a broken espresso machine to the Seattle store because Starbucks told me Action was the only place that might be able to fix it. The man as the store was very rude when I dropped off the machine. When I followed up by telephone after the estimate date passed, he was also abrupt and rude. When I asked him to please not be curt with me, he barked that he wasn't. In addition, he had not done the repair estimate. I am picking up my unrepaired machine tomorrow, and anticipating a dog fight over reimbursement of the $50 estimate fee. I would rather eat a bowl of crushed glass than give these low class jerks a single penny to fix my espresso machine.

Fortunately, I have had six hours to calm down after my last interaction with this monkey, or this posting would include many more expletives.

Actually if there was an option for NO STARS, I'd choose that...

by Anthony V.

Definitely no stars at all...over the years the few times we've had anything to do with this business was because we couldn't find what we needed online. How the owner of the Seattle shop, Dave King, has remained in business since 1980 is beyond us. He is one of the most rude business owners we've ever encountered....in fact he goes way beyond rude...(explicatives deleted here).

And if you google "action small appliance seattle" you'll find a bounty of folks unhappy enough to put pen to paper (type to screen). In the two dozen we read, not one single review was positive.

With the many options to shop online, shops like this can die a grizzly death for all we care. Make room for a local business that we actually WANT to do business with.

Dave's brother, Mike owns the Bellevue shop (425 643 9806). We've had unsatisfactory service there as well, so it must be genetic.

Rude response

by Anonymous

These guys simply hung up on me when it appeared obvious they were not familiar with the appliance I had questions about. I suggested that it was a frequent problem with this appliance (having been told that by another repair place out of town) and that I thought they would have worked on it before. He just said "nope" and hung up!

Unfriendly and Uncooperative

by Joanne C.

I had a simple question that would have helped me proceed with a small repair that I was doing myself for a shelter - they were unfriendly, unhelpful, and rude. I had been using them for over 5 years for personal stuff - and they have always been rude. I vow to take my appliances anyplace else but here and suggest you do the same.

Slow but Uncommunicative

by Don K.

I got the address and telephone number of Action Small Appliance Sales and Service from the website of the WaterPik Company as the nearest place I could get the broken water tube on my WaterPik replaced. I called them, ascertained that they did, indeed, repair WaterPiks, got a repair price from them, and mailed them the WaterPik and a check for the repair. That was over a month ago, and I have neither received my repaired WaterPik nor even gotten an acknowlegement that they received it for repair. The check has cleared.

PROS: They are an authorized WaterPik repair center
CONS: They are slow and uncommunicative

typical repair shop

by Kim B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 2,898

I went to these guys to get my vacuum cleaner repaired a while back, and while they did repair it, I think I should have just bought a new one with what they charged me. My bill was about $50.00, which would have gone a long way towards getting a new vacuum, and if they would have told me that it was going to cost that much, that's what I would have done instead. On their behalf, I have to say that they did fix it and it's still working today, so they did what they were supposed to, but I'd ask for an estimate before you get any work done.

PROS: they get the job done
CONS:
