1 Stars: Charged for just a quote (by gary j.)

After a referral from my dentist to the oral surgeon I went in to ask for the price for an implant and their schedule. Without any statement or indication of them planning to bill me for the quote process, I received a bill for $80 for a 15 minute meeting and nothing else. Not a lot of money, but totally unacceptable. It makes you wonder what else they may charge to you or your insurance company for without your permission just because they think they can. You can't just fight the bill without credit hassles, or turn them into the authorities without more trouble than $80 is worth, so just avoid these guys or be wary of who knows what made up charges may be tossed at you.

1 Stars: Too much to swallow (by Mitesh S.)

Not sure what are dentists are getting into these days. Are they really dentists anymore? Everyone is trying to pluck a tooth out of you and make some money in the bargain. Insurance companies are the only cover. I went in for a small tooth decay and landed up with some strict advice (read attempted brainwashing) of plucking the tooth off. They are priced way too high that they would have me reach my insurance limit for the whole year. I decided for a second opinion and will never turn their side any more with my dental worries.

PROS: None
CONS: Pricey, pushy to pluck the tooth off you

1 Stars: Outragous Prices (by Lynne O.)

I needed my lower jaw broken to correct my bite. I saw Dr. Trippel as my first consult in shopping for a surgeon. I did not have health insurance at the time and he wanted $20,000 just for the surgery alone and more if I had any complications. I found a different surgeon who did the proceedure with flawless results for less than a third of that.

PROS: Good technical explaination of complex proceedure
CONS: Insanely expensive
