We rented a property managed by Sagen for two years. Jenifer, our agent, was always responsive when we needed something and otherwise left us to our enjoyment of the place. She worked with the property owner to allow us to adopt a dog and found new tenants within a week or so when we needed to move out early. She even shared some of her homemade dog treats with our Westie. No complaints.

I am driven to write this review due to their superior attention and management of our client homes. We could not have asked for a better management company. The ad for our house read "no pets" but they considered our two dogs on an individual basis and accepted us. When we moved in there were parts needed for the old stove, dishwasher and dryer, but as I located and ordered them (internet search), Sagen promptly reimbursed me for the expense. They convinced the property owners to have cellular blinds installed as a thermal barrier on the old single pane windows, have had the roof and gutters cleaned and the boiler serviced, and have paid for gravel when we wanted to extend the parking slab and make a walkway. They advocate for us with the property owners, but also make it clear that putting money into this property is not a high priority -- realistic in this market.

Not the absolute worst place I've lived, but damn close. From a customer service stand point I felt completely ripped off!! RENTER BEWARE, Sagen Group doesn't give a s*** about you! After you move into your charming little space you will quickly realize that you're on your own. Once you sign the lease you have one month to find any issues and bring them to Sagen Groups attention, after which you will most likely never hear from them again, unless you're rent is late... I have no doubt that Sagen Group's main agenda is profit, profit, profit!! Within the first 5 months of my lease I had a list of problems that they refused to acknowledge, our window broke because the glass is single pane and over 40 years old, guess who had to pay to replace it! Our lease started in the summer so we didn't check the Space Heaters, our mistake I guess, because they ended up being giant electricity bill generators instead. Meanwhile Sagen Group refuses to talk to you directly and repetedly mails you the godly lease agreement you signed months back, essently saying "It's your problem now". Don't let the shiny new coat of paint fool you, underneath it is a house that's been neglected for years, and you will end up paying for it!

The previous rating "movinonup" can say all the things that they want, the truth is, cat urine ruined the brand new flooring throughout. They paid the fee. Nothing to argue, no excuse to give. We gave them several opportunities to rectify the situation. They state that they moved into a home with no stove and ripped up flooring? I beg to differ, who would? They had new flooring, new appliances and fresh paint. Upon their exit they had broken the glass stove, burnt large holes into the vinyl flooring in several areas from hot pans set on the floor. The house had been painted so many different and dark colors that it all needed to be covered. I wont even mention the dirt....

Disgruntled tenants have this citysearch as an outlet to vent their frustrations without even having to prove any of what they write. I guess I have to appreciate the outlet as a person who may use it for a legitimate business complaint someday myself.

When i asked for an itemized list of what we were being charged for before we handed $3000 over, they refused to respond to our emails and phone calls and sent our names to a collection agency. Due to the exhaustion of having to deal with stupid people, we paid the agency and are trying to move on.

If it says sagen group, run away!!! run far far away...it's not worth it. no home is worth having to deal with Sagen group pigs.

Upon receiving a call from this couple in the evening I chose to make an exception and show the home during "family hours" as they were in a bad situation and being asked to leave immidiately from their current situation. I screened the tenants and chose to let a few things slide as they seemed to be a nice family that needed to rent a home right away. They turned out to dishonest, damaging to the home itself and outright dishonorable. They are currently being sought after by our collection company for damages to the tune of over $1400. As a team, Sagen Grroup values our families and others in a warm regard. It is too bad that taking the extra step of accomodating people has come back to harm our reputation. As a professional, it saddens me that these people will probably convince another reputable agent into renting a nice home to them where they will damage and leave filth for someone else to take care of.

- agents showing the house while taking personal calls on cell phone and allowing their 2 year old child to run amok in the house, screaming and jumping on things
-agent not changing over the name on the utilities, which then results in all of the money you paid to the utility being paid back to Sagen and leaving you owing it, again.
-when something needs addressed, such as your lawn needs mowing, a threatening letter rather than a request, stating that if it is not cut in ten days you will have to vacate
-agents who are hard to reach and do not return phone calls in timely manner (unless you mention lawyers or moving out)
-calls for repairs to be made not being answered, no repairs made
-really poor follow through, such as when they say they're going to have an agent come by to do a walk-though before you renew your lease. They just never arrive.
-unbelievably bad communication skills; agent hears that we *may* want to move out in the next few months rather than renew lease, but rather than check in with us in a few months, simply calls one morning and say they're are people scheduled to come see the place. REALLY bad!
