You don't have to invest a lot in equipment if you don't know if your child will want to stay in the sport. It's nice to not have to buy new just to have them move on to something else. Don't assume that they're going to have everything you need, however. It's a consignment shop so availability is not guaranteed. I found a lot of ski stuff, but I was looking for baseball stuff and their selection was low.
