Taj is simply the best Indian buffet in town. I just keep coming back to Taj. Their signature dish for me is the Tandoori Chicken. Always moist and meaty, never dry. Good salad selections and curry choices. Not too many places have lamb either, and the meatballs are fantastic.

I enjoyed the food here at Taj. I went for dinner and it's a little pricey for me to eat on a regular basis. Very friendly employees though. :)

Taj Palace is one of the best restruants I have ever been to. They have excellent dishes, nice staff, cleaniness, and the greatest amosphere. This restruant reminds me of home, I would recommend this restruant to anyone who wants good food at a good rate. I am also very happy to see their business expanding into a new grocery store next door, now I can feed my kids at their favorite restruant and buy my grocery at the same time!

I ate at the lunch buffet yesterday with my wife and I was pleasantly surprised. I have eaten great Indian food in Vancouver BC and Los Angeles and I am always skeptical of buffets. This place was packed so other people must know how great it is. The place was clean and the buffet was fresh and well presented. They had way more items than most places. My wife and I are on this new paleo diet and we found lots to eat. The owner stopped by our table and he was very friendly and customer service oriented. We told him about our diet and he generously offered to make us side dishes should we ever come in and not find enough to eat in the buffet. I can't wait to go back for dinner and try the food a la carte.

I have celiac and can't have gluten and they were able to accommodate my dietary needs while providing me with a SUPER YUMMY dish. I can't wait to go back! I had the Saag Paneer and it was so freaking tasty. Yum!

From the chicken tikka masala to the lamb meat balls, naan, and wonderful rice dishes, we have never been less than completely satisfied by our meals at the Taj Palace. International travelers we have taken to this favorite neighborhood eatery say that it compares with the best Indian food they've had in London. Very nice setting, and a wait-staff that is quite attentive, without being intrusive. I think it is at the top of my Indian food list.

Great place to eat if you like Indian food. I've booked a few corporate lunches here and have always received great service as well as nice compliments from co-workers about the quality of their food.

Not a bad place for Indian food. I had egg plant aloo curry and had a bad experience. There is lot of oil in the curry. But the other Punjabi dishes are pretty good. I certainly recommend this place for such dishes.

If u are looking for a place where u can bring back memories of Indian punjabi dishes, this is the place to go. The food here tastes awesome and yes there is refreshing change that all curries are not complimented with rice!! Not a great ambiance but who cares when the pallet is so happy.

PROS: good taste which reminds of home.
CONS: poor ambiance, little expensive

I went a week ago for the lunch buffet and was surprised at how good everything was. The naan was simply amazing and the price for the buffet is great too! I will definitely be back for lunch again!

Taj Palace is one the best places ever. The service is great, the food is awesome and Taj Palace itself is the best place to eat. The owner makes me feel like I'm at home and is a great person. I would recommend this is anyone even to the people who hate Indian food because after coming to Taj Palace everyone would start to love Indian food

Ive been going to Taj Palace for many years, and its hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in the area. \r
\r
Pros\r
- Delicious food. I see a few reviews talking about issues with the buffet, but if you order off menu Ive never had a problem with bad food in the dozens of trips Ive taken here.\r
- The owner. I can see how some people might find him a tad overbearing, but hes exceptionally good at what he does. I have taken lots of people here over the years and they are always taken aback by his warmth, and he has remembered what they ordered the previous time even if they were there once years before. \r
- Delicious chi tea\r
\r
Cons\r
- The rest of the staff. I like the current group of people working there, but its been a bit uneven over the years and some have been pretty bad. Ive never felt like they were rude, just sometimes not very good at their jobs.\r
- A tiny bit expensive. If the service was consistently better, or the bill was maybe 15% less Id be there a couple times a week. \r

NICE JOB!

We have been to this place a few times now. I have heard many horror stories about this place from multiple people, espcially about getting stale food. In my experiences (limited to lunch buffet) I have found the food to be okay but definitely not consistent.\r
\r
However, what I have come to despise about this place is the owner. He is always at you, asking ""how is the food"", so much so that it becomes irritating. And if you ever tell him that something is not good, he would either outright deny it or pick up a fight with you. He tries to be friendly, but you can easily see that the whole thing is fake. I pity the cook. He seems to know a bit about his art. But he can't do much if the manager asks him to server stale Tandoori, Naan....

First off just let me say I love Indian food. This is one of my favorites for lunch buffet. Very good chicken tikki masala, saag paneer, and sometimes a nice okra dish, if you like okra. bhindi something or other. Above average salad selections. I go there almost once a week, and stuff myself silly, usually don't have room left for much dinner. I've never experienced bad service there, the owner is a likable character. I almost always get a warm greeting whenever I show up.

Pros: food, service

They have overcharged my credit card 6 times over the last 3 months. The food is average and the service is pathetic. There is a mean-looking Indian lady that goes from table to table, brings the check and says ""Pleeeeease"". I will never go there again.

Cons: service

★☆☆☆☆

I went there many times because I liked the food on the lunch buffet, BUT I will never go again!\r
Every time they overcharge my credit card (1-2 dollars above the amount I signed). They stared to include 15% service change on top of the bill. Unpleasant and arrogant staff that makes you feel uncomfortable. All they care is to get your money.

They started charging 15% service tax on the buffet. Food taste is below average. I won't go there as this place is expansive and not worth for money.

★★☆☆☆

I decided to try this restaurant's buffet few days back. Some of the dishes were ok, some of them were not eatable. There was something funny about rice at this place. It just filled me up after a few spoonfuls. Never went back to the place again, probably would not go back any time soon

DO NOT GO to Taj Palace.\r
\r
We've just come back from dinner at Taj and can't wait to write a review.\r
\r
Objectively, the food was just okay. We've tried many other Indian restaurants and tasted better ones. We picked Taj Palace because it happened to be in the area and was supposed to be on the Passport list where we'd get a discount.\r
\r
For the food quality and portion, the dishes are certainly overpriced.\r
\r
It turned all ugly when the bill came - We presented the Passport ID for the buy-1-get-1-free discount and the waitress returned saying that the computer wouldn't accept it. We explained to her that the restaurant was on the Passport list online and that the information was absolutely current. Nonetheless she just ignored what we said and told us again that the computer wouldn't accept the discount, thus basically the end of the story. We were frustrated with her attitude and she then passed us on to the manager, who turned out to be the worst nightmare. He came to our table, all ready to argue, and before we could really say anything he annouced that they no longer accepted that particular Passport card and that we should just call Passport ourselves to make a complaint on the misrepresentation of information. He was clearly aware of the situation (not the first time that a customer came in with the same card) but apparently didn't care to fix the problem. We told him that even if that was truly the case he should have made decent effort to communicate the ""error"" to customers up front, like posting a notice at the door or something of similar intend. He responded by asking why he'd need to do that when it was none of his business and that we should be the one making the complaint to Passport. I explained to him that it'd be a very bad customer experience regardless and he literally said ""I DON""T CARE""! What else could we say after that?! \r
\r
Yes they're all smiles when you pay the full bill but when things don't go their way, you'll see the wicked faces.

Pros: Parking

Cons: Food, Service, Attitude

Another Indian lunch buffet that is near my workplace- This place is usually pretty good (as far as a buffet is concerned) However, I would say that it isn?t anything special, items aren?t as spicy or flavorful as one would like and sometimes curry isn?t has thick as it should be- but this is better than most buffets. What is nice is that the owners really seem to appreciate your business and make sure that you have everything you need while dining. I have never been here for dinner.

Pros: Sincere Owners

Cons: Smelling like the restaurant all day

★★★★★

I'm hooked on Indian food and have tried many different restaurants. Taj Palace is by far my favorite, much better than over-hyped Chutneys. The breads are perfectly crispy and thick, the seafood curry is heavenly (my favorite!), and I've never had better samosas. Other excellent choices are the tandoori mixed grill (heaping with different meats cooked moist and tender), the saag paneer, tikka masala, and biryani. As others have said, the owner is very very nice, hospitable, and attentive. The buffet is busy at lunch time, it is such a good deal. I believe it is not a more popular place at night because it's not in an area with a lot of nice restaurants, so people don't expect to find it there. Come try it!!!

Pros: Delicious food, good service

Cons: None!

★★★★★

Mr. Gill, owner/host, is as hospitable as any India restaurant proprietor we've ever met, and we've met many. Subcontinental cuisine being our favorite, we've sought out and sampled India restaurants worldwide. Taj Palace food quality is near the top. Only small weakness are the breads. But the rest superb. A little more India ambience would enhance the experience, but we keep returning quite happily and have done so for many years. Lunch buffet much greater value than dinner ala carte.\r
\r
I'm now (Jan. 2008) updating the review after several return visits. We've found the breads better than previously remembered, buffets remain excellent, and even though dinner more expensive than lunch buffet (quite normal with India restaurant pricing) that doesn't keep us from occasional dinner at Taj Palace. Mr. Gill is as welcoming as ever, and his delicious authentic subcontinent food remains right at the top of our India eatery list.

Pros: Food, Owner/Host, Lunch buffet

Cons: couple staff members sub-par but don't let that deter you.

★★★★☆

THe food is definetly good, but for the price the portions are too much. Ive had same quality for cheaper. The naan was more expensive than most places I have been and it was too small of a portion. The waiter was not polite, but the owner was really nice.

★★★★★

This is the best Indian Food ever. Plus the owner greets you and rememberss you each time you come in. I won't go any where else.. Superb flavors and combination of spices. You won't leave hungry- generous portions!

Pros: free abundant parking
