In Short
This shop is especially popular with British families--prepare to be charmed by children calling out to "Mummy" from behind shelves of McVitie's biscuits. There's a dazzling array of jams and marmalades, countless varieties of teas and an assortment of barley waters, a popular soft drink. Grab a can of Heinz baked beans and a sausage roll from the bakery for a true UK taste at home. If you're brave, add a jar of pickled cockles.

The Inside Scoop

  1. Know Before You Go - The shop boasts an extensive selection of teapots and accessories, including Irish linen tea towels, and plates bearing the likeness of Princess Di and the queen.
  2. The Extras - If you're not quite ready to tackle British cooking at home, pay a visit to the shop's restaurant, Neville's, where you can savor bangers and mash (sausages and potatoes), and Ploughman's (cold pork pie).

Good International Flair in Downtown Redmond

by Michelle Q. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 504

It's fun to have the British Pantry here in Redmond. I like to browse the items because they're so different from what we manufacture here in the United States. They have a nice food and gift selection. Their gift selections includes a display of beautiful teapots, which I enjoy looking at.

British Pantry

by Weng K. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 1,949

Small store with a good selection of English tea, candies, biscuits, jams and other canned food and cooking aids. They also carry a nice collection of teapots and teacups. You can also buy pies, cakes and pastries made on site. The cold pork pie, curry chicken pie and fruit cake are very delicious.

Wondeful UK Food

by Lynne O. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,463

Both their sit down dining area and their large selection of imported foods from the UK make a visit to The British Pantry an absolute must. A great place for lunch with friends, or to find that elusive Irish three fruit marmalade.

Quaint and Beautiful British Pantry

by Michelle H. | insider Insider | Rank: 18,353

What a fun little place! The British Pantry is one of my favorite indulgences. On one side is Neville's restaurant with sit down dining and the option of dining outside on the patio.

The market side offers a fresh deli for pickup orders and lovely little tarts as well as the shop with all kinds of British goodies.

You can purchase British publications, packaged foods, tea and accessories and any number of fabulous, unique gifts.

I love to pop in here on my lunch break. The staff is warm, friendly and helpful.

Highly recommended!

PROS: Fun, unique, simply delightful service and selection

Great place for English cookies

by Diane C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,940

They have a great selection of English items that you can't generally find in the US. The cookie and candy selection is very good. They also have a good selection of teas and meats. The restaurant also has good food.

The British Pantry is a welcomed delight.

by AnnCade

It was a pleasure to be in The British Pantry with all kinds of British items and then have a delicious meal at their restaurant Neville's next door. I wish I'd known about the British Pantry last summer when I was hunting for gifts to bring back home from England! It would have saved a lot of space in my luggage. My cousin, who also went to England last summer, thought I would enjoy it. She was so right! We're eager to go back for more shopping and dining.

Pros: Great selection of items, and excellent menu.

Are you looking for a British touch?

by sione

This place is great! I mostly rave about the fresh pastries/baked items, but you can get all manner of foods/food ingredients for a variety of different English treats. The bakery, however, holds some delicious treats! The sausage rolls are fantastic! Take some home and pop them in the microwave for a few seconds and yum-o! The curry "pies" are great and flaky and have a great mild curry flavor. The dessert pastries are also great. There's great tarts and especially the custard filled "mini-pies" whose crusts just fall apart upon taking a bite. This is a great place to check out and is becoming a bit more well-known location in Redmond.

Pros: Great selection of different "UK items"...

Cons: A bit difficult to find in Redmond for the uninitiated...

We were recommended it by a brit selling homes in Bellevue and had to go and have a look when I tried to make gray with us stuff. Walked in and there it was BISTO GRAVY. Got a few other bits and then had a couple beers next door while watching rugby. We will be back and the owner was lovely to boot...........................

Pros: Friendly and a nice pint after youv'e shopped

Cons: a little pricey but all good things are.........................

Enjoyed British Pantry

by gpadwick

If you like British food, British Pantry is where you need to go. Where else in this region can you find a good steak and kidney pie? Great bangers and mash, too. Friendly service and reasonable prices.
Visit the adjoining store and buy British specialties, some made locally and others imported, to take home.
I only wish for a similar British Pantry closer to Gig Harbor.

Pros: Great food, Friendly service, Reasonable prices

Cons: None

English Breakfast

by eastside_girl

If you're going to the British Pantry, be sure to visit their restaurant "Neville's." The Sunday morning English Breakfast is spectacular! Bangers, amazing homefries, bacon, toast with jam or marmalade. Not good for the arteries, but my tummy was delighted! You've got to set the alarm clock though, breakfast is only on Sundays from 10 am - noon.

Pros: great food, charming, hidden spot

Cons: slow kitchen, longish wait time, limited hours
