I am always going to see what's at this theater, not because of the movies, but I just love this theater. It's an old one, funky and with a nice atmosphere. It would be great if they opened a coffee house here too or something so I could

Pros: Old funky theater with a good vibe

Cons: One theater

Seven Gables Theatre is a great venue for intimate movie viewing.A comfortable and casual movie viewing experience, with first rate movies, and of course popcorn. Parking is the only drawback to this theatre, but it is much more fun than a multi-plex.

This place is really cool, it is very small, and on the top floor of a row of businesses. It is set in a gabled roof top, so it is very unique. They choose quality films to show. They are either indie films or award winners. They really seem to care about movies and know their stuff. It is so quaint that it makes for a cool movie watching experience. I recommend it highly for film buffs. They only have one film playing at a time, but it is always a good one. It is also near Scarecrow video, the best video store in Seattle - some say the country - so it is a little film-lovers mecca right there on Roosevelt.

i have only seen one film here, some bukowski doc. but the theater shows all kinds of indie art house types of films that you just can't see anywhere else. the lobby is so amazing and the theater itself is a sight to be held. I don't want to spoil it for you by telling you everything about it, but go and see for yourself.

PROS: art house films rule!
CONS:

This place is a refreshing change us. We loved the small theater size (I don't think you could get a bad seat). Of course, the movie selection is eclectic, but that's the point! You can go see "Snow Dogs" somewhere else. I'm sure they won't mind. I love the couches in the waiting room. Nice. And it's cheap!

Ok, the sound system is low grade and the chairs aren't the most comfortable. But in ways seeing a movie here is like listening to a vinyl record that seems somehow richer for its pops and hisses. The theater is generally more concerned with finding great movies than with making the audience feel like they're in the movie.
