Very Over Rated...

I've never had an easy transaction with Gregg's. It's not as if they are an understaffed store with discount pricing, quite the opposite. Service quality is good but they won't make appointments and claim they need to keep your bike a week or so. A hassle. The location is hard to get to from some approaches, and Bellevue traffic can be horrible to deal with.

terrible customer service
by Anonymous
I went to Gregg's Cycle today to purchase some bike helmets and other accessories. There were about 7 to 8 people on staff on the accessories floor, and only ONE person offered to help me. It wasn't like the place was busy either, there were no other customers on the floor! Two staff members were sitting down behind the register doing absolutely nothing. After I did get help from that one nice older gentleman, he went off to help another customer ( since the other 7 people on the staff obviously don't help out). Some young, female cashier rang me up and she was very rude. Over all, the store has tons of selection, it's a gorgeous store with underground parking. Unfortunately the experience was ruined for me due to poor customer service and rude staff.

I've been to Greggs at least 3 times, and each time the theme was the same: struggle to get the attention of staff to let them know you're waiting to talk to somebody, wait 10-15 minutes with no help, getting the momentary attention of another staff person, and waiting another 10-15 minutes with no service.
The shop might be great (it's big, lots of selection not only in bikes, but in accessories) and might offer good deals, but unless you know how to shop for a bike yourself, you're not going to get help from the customer service reps.
Parking is a real pain as well.

The people who work here are super nice and responsive. The selection is fabulous. I bought a roadbike here and the service was great in both the sale and follow-up. I trust this place and had a fabulous experience buying my bike from them. I can't comment on their bike servicing but I'd bet it's solid.
PROS: Good selection, Nice People. Good Follow-Up Service
CONS: None that I can think of

Overrated and Dishonest
by juliehi
I was shopping for a new mountain bike after looking at the same model at another shop. I noticed that the bike felt different. Poor shifting, harder to ride.
Because Gregg's had swapped out the original parts to cheaper junk.
I checked the manufacturer's spec and sure enough they did swap the parts. I mentioned the discrepancy to the salesperson and he had no answer. Also said the material for another bike was something it' wasn't. Don't buy there you may end up buying something you didn't bargain for.
Pros: Large Selection
Cons: Dishonest Salespeople, Swap Manufacturer Parts

NOT very helpful staff
by moboth
My friend and I went to Gregg's in Bellevue b/c we saw on the internet that it was voted best bike shop in the Seattle area. Well, we were certainly disappointed. When we walked into the store, no one greeted us and as we were looking at bikes no one approached us to ask if we had any questions (we're not bike experts). We finally asked one of the workers behind the register for some help but he wasn't very helpful. So, we decided to go upstairs to an additional floor to see if we would have better luck...no such luck. The same non existent sales staff. Needless to say, they missed out on the sales of 2 bikes.
Pros: Decent selection of bikes
Cons: Unhelpful staff
