Ratings_icons Prairie Farm Kennel is not a safe place.

Cindi B.

This is the worst place ever. I got my dog back extremely dehydrated and she required hospitalization to save her. Sharie was extremely rude and condescending. She couldn't even tell me if Chloe ate or drank. What kind of care is that? She tried to tell me it was a normal process. What or who is she trying to fool. I AM NOT COMPETITION just and owner who wished I'd never taken her dog to prairie farms nightmare!!

Ratings_icons Great Kennel & great people.

Prairie Farm Kennel Is a great place. We have been taking our beloved Abby there for 5 years and always been happy. It is clean, heated and Abby loves the fenced 3 acres to play in, supervised, everyday.

The owner & staff have often gone the extra step to help make the stay there the best possible. Abby loves to be outside for 3-4 hours a day, & she can do that at Prairie Farm Kennel. And you can't beat the price!!

My Vet boards her 2 dogs a Prairie Farm Kennel and that is why we only trust our dog to the great people who really care about dogs. Call them the next time you have to go out of town. You will be very pleased with the service and hi standard of care at Prairie Farm Kennel.

I do not pay any attention to reviews that have no name on them. Are they the jealous competition?? maybe.. Go see for yourself.

Ratings_icons Praire Farm Kennel- Would You Like To Kill Your Dog?

Anomomys P.

I was a employee at Kennel about a year ago, and it was the worst job I have ever had. But this review isn't about Sharie's employees that she treats very poorly. It is about your pets and the service you recieve from this business. If you decide to bring your loving pet to the kennel it will be in for quite the adventure. First off if your pet likes to be infested with flies this is the place for him/her. You cannot take a step in that hell hole of a kennel without being crapped on by flies. Your dog will likely be placed in a cage and left there for 12 hours before being let out to go to the bathroom. If you pet decides to poop and piss all over the floor it will likely be a while before the mess is cleaned up. I had one dog take a steamy diarhea in its water container, I was unaware of what happened until walking in on the dog drinking out of his bowl. I was outside working on the owners lanscaping while this dog piss all over its bedding and duked in his water. When we do decide to let out these animals they go do their business after they are done, the employee will clean it up and dispose of the poop in buckets. Once the excrement is placed in these buckets it sits there for 1 month or until emptied. This allows your pets to have a fine dining experience on a bucket of poop if they so please. If you are looking for unsanitary poop infested kennel this is the place to go. Just a tip if you do decide to store your pet her don't ever pay to get your dog a bath or be ran. It will never happen. It isn't a priority and neither are you. Your dog will rot in that cage until you come get it. FYI Sharie(The Owner) is usually high on pain killers and somewhat dillusional. She will lie to get out of anything like the time a husky bit a littler dog on the neck punturing its flesh while they were outside. Instead of telling the owner the truth she covered up the bite marks by saying the little dog got caught on the fence, and then she refused to pay vet bills cause she is a cheap old witch.

Ratings_icons BEWARE OF OWNER!!!!!

Jason B.

(August, 2008)First of all, I would like to say that my dog was totally out of line and is/was responsible for the situation that took place at the Prairie Farms Kennel. I paid the total vet bill of the nice dog in question that my dog had the altercation with. Prairie Farms and staff were deliberately informed about what sort of accommodation my dog will need for the weekend. We simply asked for a roof on the kennel which was not taken in accordance by the Prairie Farms Kennel and staff. The Prairie Farms Kennel and staff deliberately disregarded these instructions and took no care of my dog and instructed accommodations that were requested. The owner said that she tried to call and inform me of problems that were occurring in the kennel that were a result of the deliberate disregard of instruction by myself and family on the care of my dog, but I have no record of this happening so I cannot believe her in her intentions in trying to inform me of these problems. She even had other phone numbers where I could be reached at, and still neglected to use those numbers to contact me in case of an emergency. This leaves me to believe that she is trying to cover her bases and do what is best for the kennel and reflect any reliability of these altercations onto other parties. In my opinion, she does not keep the best regards of the dogs and owners in mind. When discussing the incident with the owner of Prairie Farms Kennel, she did not seem to be emotionally involved with the victim (not my dog), but purely concentrated on how this would come back on her and her business. I do not believe she even cared about the dog that was a victim (not my dog). This is not the business that I think you should trust with your loved member and family dog. In conclusion, I take full responsibility for my dog and her actions, but I feel that Prairie Farms Kennel and staff neglected to take note of the needs of my dog which led to this unfortunate event. Even if your dog is not aggressive toward other dogs, DO NOT take your dog here as I feel they neglect to take proper precautions to keep all dogs safe. A good kennel must meet the needs of all types of dogs to keep a safe environment, which I believe the Prairie Farms Kennel does not.

Ratings_icons Great Kennel!

We have been taking our dogs to Prairie Farms for the last four years. Our dogs are always excited to go as they run to the kennel entrance when they get out of the car (unlike at the vet.) The place is very clean and the dogs are let outside many times a day. The staff is also great about letting you see where the dogs are staying and letting you help get them settled in.

Ratings_icons Best Kennel in Spokane, we Love Prairie Farm !!

Julie W.

We have been leaving our 2 dogs at Prairie Farm for the past 6 years. We never had a bad experience, they are so pleasant, caring and really love our 2 yellow labs. It is like a home away from home for them. They run into the kennel when we open the car door !!This kennel is very clean, heated in the winter and air conditioned in the summer. My dogs love going outside to play 4 times a day in the fenced area with the 8" fence and really like the 3 acres fenced play area that attendent takes them to play everyday. What a treat ! We don't have 3 acres at home. They really get spoiled at Prairie Farm and we sould reccommend it to anyone wants their family dogs treated really well. Thanks to the owners and staff of Prairie Farm Kennel !!

Ratings_icons Prairie Farm Kennel is world class!

Tom K.

I have had the pleasure of boarding my dogs at the Prairie Farm Kennel for nearly eight years. I began with two elderly labs who always received excellent treatment, exercise and grooming. For the last several years, it has been my daughter's Papillon, a notoriously high-strung breed. He loves spending time at Prairie Farm, whether for a brief weekend or for a longer stay, as recently occurred when my wife and I were in Europe on vacation. I have had numerous opportunities to visit the area where the dogs are kept, and have always found it to be clean, orderly and well staffed and managed. My calls are always returned in a timely manner, and I have always found the staff to be courteous and cheerful. I highly recommend this facility.

Ratings_icons Wonderful people, wonderful kennel

IWe have left our family pet, a 2 yr old Beagle, at Prairie Farm Kennel on many occasions; as we travel a great deal. It is so nice to know that our Sophie gets loving treatment and the same care that we would give her at home. They inquired as to her personality, her habits, her diet and if she would like to play in the 3 acre play acrea. Well, that was a great treat to our Sophie, she loved running with the attendant and playing ball with him. Great fun. LThe kennel is always very clean & also heated & air conditioned. There are numerous Vets that board their dogs at Prairie Farm Kennel. Our own Vet boards her 2 dogs at this kennel. There was a dog at the kennel when we were there that kept chewing up his bed and making a mess in his kennel. Then the staff had to give that dog a bath, at no charge, before the bad dog went home. The staff goes to every effort to give excellent care to all the pets. I would feel very confident in recommending Prairie Farm Kennel to any other dog or cat owner.Mrs. Mary SchroderSpokane, WA

Ratings_icons Worst Kennel Ever - DO NOT LEAVE YOUR ANIMAL HERE

Anonymous

We recently left our dog at this establishment. When it came time to pick our dog up, she was changed!! She was listless, had diarrhea and had developed a limp. She was not the same dog that we left there. She seemingly was very traumatized --- how? We do not know. She was filthy, her bedding was totally ruined from feces to the point of not being able to bring it home. This is NOT a place you want to leave your animal. I REPEAT, YOU DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE YOUR ANIMAL AT THIS PLACE. Consider this fair warning. If you love your dog, find a different place to board. We are now in the process of taking her to the vet to determine the extent of her traumatization.

Ratings_icons Terrible Service/Dirty Kennel

I took my dog, who is just like my best friend, to the Prarie Farm Kennel last September for Labor Day break. I should have taken the clue right from the start due to the lack of interest of a call back from the company. They never called me back for days and when they did the lady on the phone was very rude. To make a long story short, I still took my dog to the kennel and was apalled when I picked her up! She was filthy and sick. The conditions of the kennel were filthy and looked to not have been cleaned the whole time my dog was there. It looked like they had way too many dogs to handle. After about $1,000 in vet bills, I've finally gotten her health back! I'll never take my dog there again! I've learned my lesson!

Ratings_icons Difficult to do business with this kennel

Elizabeth T.

We were visiting Spokane for an extended stay, from Tucson. We attempted to visit this kennel prior to boarding our dog for the first time. We had a great deal of difficulty reaching anyone at the business, after multiple phone calls. We finally left a message that we would be at the kennel at a 8:00am, and asked that they call if the time/date was not convenient for them. No call. When we arrived, we found another boarder with dog waiting for them to open. After two calls to the kennel, we all left the site. Their business is only open 2 hours a weekday, i.e. 8:00-9:00am and 4:00 to 5:00 pm. They are open Sats. from 8:00-9:00 only, and are closed on Sun. They may be good care givers, but we will never know. We would not leave our pet with such unresponsive people.
