This awesome little place is in the heart of downtown, next to Nordstrom. Super hip and current. Whenever I want to steal a pair of jeans from Hollywood, chances are I can find them there. This store really changed my wardrobe, and comfort level with the trends and how they can work for me.

Pros: wonderful collection of brands

What can I say this cute, chic store has big city style! Love the selection here much more than stores like Mercer and Nordstroms. The service is always warm, friendly and honest when it comes to what looks best on my bod. They are like my own personal stylist and how great is that? I mostly shop the Seattle store but have gone to Bellevue Square and loved the diversity in both.

Also great deals on Sway and cake . com. I like it because I can shop it on my new iphone while I am waiting at the airport. I travel alot.
Girls check it out!!

Yea, I would have to agree with some of the readers that although this place was really hyped up a few years ago, it has seen its better days. I've been in a few times after hearing how trendy or whatever Sway and Cake was. I have to say that I've been pretty disappointed by their blah selection of clothes. If I want to buy a pair of designer jeans, I'd rather go to Nordstrom where the customer service is much better and the girls are less full of themselves. Also, why is everything so overpriced??

Pros: Good designers

Cons: Unprofessional staff, overpriced, clothes are not that great

This place doesn't have much selection. I always go in with such hope, only to be disappointed once I get down to actually browsing the racks! I will agree with another reviewer that the customer service is pretty unprofessional. I think if I were in my late teens or early twenties and had a bunch of money I'd probably think this place was cool. Everyone else is probably better off looking elsewhere.

Pros: Nice selection of designers

I have to say I feel really bad for Sway and Cake lately. Talk about the underdog!! When I first moved to Seattle, I was so depressed amd I stumbled upon the store. I walked in wearing probably the worst outfit imaginable, and they were so nice to me. I couldn't afford hardly anything in there, but they didn't care. I hungout in there chatting and talking with the girls for well over an hour. I only left with a pair of jeans but it didn't matter. I go back all of the time and rarely buy anything, beacuse I can't always afford alot. I also work on a retail clerk salary, so I know what it's like to not be made of money, but I assure you, they have never been anything but completely nice to me, and I've never seen anyone treated any differently. I feel bad for the people who go into stores with a chip on thier shoulder, thinking the staff is going to be so rude to them, when in reality it ends up being the other way around. It is also sad when people think because they see something in Nordstrom Saavy they think it originated there, but they rarely notice that Sway and Cake had the exact same line a year ago, and Nordstrom simply had to scope it out there.

I've been a long time fan of the underdog. Sway and Cake and other fashionable boutiques like it are definately the underdogs in this world of HUGE department stores and giant McRetail chains. I've always enjoyed my experiences in the downtown store and they recently opened a new location in bellevue square. The bellevue store is much smaller and more intimate feeling, almost like you are walking into you're celebrity best friends closet. The clothes are gorgeous, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and I love the fact that a Boutique is now located in the mall. Its almost as if your not in a mall once you walk into the bellevue Sway. I love it, I love it, I love it ! ! ! I receive the most compliments when I am wearing the delicious clothes that I've purchased from there and I always love telling where I got it. But I know that I wont see everyone that I've told about the store wearing the same thing as me because they are always getting in Fabulous new stuff, and in limited quantities. If it's not in my size it wasn't meant for me, and the same goes for you. :) If you want to look great and have a fun time doing it shop at Sway and Cake.

Pros: Great Designers, Trend setting looks, Fashionable and Friendly sales staff

Cons: I can't afford to buy everything in the store everytime.

I haven't shopped at S & C that often, but when I have, the sales staff was helpful and polite, helping me snap/zip/button the backs of tops and dresses, and inquiring about what kind of event I was shopping for. I bought a top there from a designer that I loved but couldn't find anywhere else in Seattle. Prices are average for the designers (read: on the expensive side) that the store carries. All in all, a good experience and a great selection of fun tops and dresses. Oh, and I was dressed in "work" clothes when I went in, and they were still nice to me.

While this store was a favorite of mine when it first opened (in its pre-expansion days), there's always been something that bothered me. I'll give Ms. Donaghy (the store proprietress) credit for having a mostly unerring eye for what's hip (at least as far as what's hip in Nordstrom right next door), as the store inventory can back that up. However, after repeated visits and transactions, it has become clear that the staff are not employed there for their customer service skills, or even for their inviting personalities. Rather, it appears that they are employed solely because they can fit sample sizes. How difficult, really, is it to acknowledge your customers with a sincere smile? In the last few times that I've popped into the store, I've learned more about the girls' plans for their weekends and their friends' latest dramas than I need (or want) to know. I have not, however, been greeted nicely ONCE by any of the sales clerks, or by Ms. Donaghy herself, for that matter. Total turn-off. Sway's staff must remember that women who drop into their store after work might not be dressed in their trendiest best, but hey, at least they have jobs...jobs that likely pay more than a sales clerk position at a small downtown boutique. Every potential customer is worthy of respectful treatment, no matter what they're wearing or how much "wealth" they exude. When Sway & Cake first opened, it was pretty unique (for its inventory), but now, one can find the same lines of clothing next door in Nordstrom's Savvy department, in several other (FRIENDLIER) similar boutiques have opened in recent years, and online. Save your time and your money, shop online or elsewhere, unless you relish being treated inferiorly.

Pros: used to be the clothes, but not anymore

Cons: "service" ranges from apathetic to rude, same clothes can be found elsewhere

great place to find a unique piece of clothing but the service sucks. They were so snobby and ignored my sister and I the whole time we were in there. Very small and tend to get crowded.
