The Vermont Inn provides a very comfortable, nice place to live.
Comfort (bed, pillows, furnishings, room temperature, all things functioning properly, fresh towels and bed linen every week, cable tv, wifi, and people who accept our deliveries and mail when we are not available) makes life much better.

Moving to a place that is not "my own" (which is also in a different country with different rules and customs) is challenging.

I am grateful to have found Cezar of the Belltown Inn (who recommended the Vermont Inn) to learn about this Inn. A central and convenient location, a very nice room to spend my days and nights, and helpful reception, maintenance and cleaning employees is what has helped my transition.

the lady at the front desk during the day, should be fired. she creates more drama than you could imagine. we needed internet, which is to be provided for a fee, and she got nasty with us, and shoved a business card to us, and told us to call the guy. (seriously?) thought that may be a job for one of the staff. same nasty lady a week later when we asked for a couple of pillows told us we could go shopping and buy our own. (a new target has opened up in downtown she said) same lady same week when we called down to see if she would tell us what the temporary parking sign said out front, with in her eyesight, hung up on me. thinking it was an accident i stupidly called again, and she started screaming. a few minutes later after getting dressed and yes i could read the sign from where she sits, she verbally accosted me, and screamed that she is no ones slave! personally the building is ok for the price, but she needs to be replaced with someone who can do customer service. she would do better in a meat packing plant. wont be staying here again.

I as a student hated this place I would not recommend this place the only thing good is the space needle, I had more than 1 problem first when I talked to manager that my rent is coming a little late she said nothing 3 days later I get a surprise note that I have a 60$ late fee, I was so angry that they did not say anything before hand. Another I paid my rent 1 cent short n the front desk lady made it a big ddeal I giv her the penny n she says that I need that penny more than her. On top my room is next to the alley every morning at 1 am the street cleaner come through n you can hear everything. Not to mention the garbage trucks coming through making loud dumping noises 20 times before driving off. Constantly thee are maintenance probs, that I couldn't take a shower bfore work. Their vending machines stole 10 dollars it's tricked I swear. Most of the staff is quite n nice the manager n this 1 girl I don't care for rude, n constantly talking crap about the guests staying there. I wish I never signed that lease a big mistake.

I have nothing to complain about Vermont Inn really. It is fully furnished, I have my bed, chair, table, drawers, spacious bathroom, personal ref, iron and ironing board, and a large TV. Utilities are also covered, will just need to pay an extra $40 for the internet. Staff are very approachable and friendly, they immediately attend to your inquiries or requests. The room is not that big though, but ok if you're staying alone, and the stove and ref are not that big as well (not sure if you get the bigger rooms). My only concern is that it doesn't have a washer and dryer in unit. Overall, a really great place to stay especially for those who have just arrived in Seattle.

One of the previous reviewers must have the Vermont Inn confused for something else. I've lived there for a few years and the manager is neither frantic nor disorganized, in fact, the manager is a "he" and not a "she".
The building is clean and it's near the Seattle Center and downtown. Close to buses and there are some good eateries in the area (although I'd advise everyone to STAY AWAY from the '5 Point Cafe'-it is literally the rudest place ever).
The building has laundry facilities and a beautiful deck on the roof, that people don't seem to use much except on 4th of July or New year's where the fireworks shows are quite visible.
Overall it's a good place if you are moving to Seattle or don't want the commitment of a lease (although I think they offer leases too). Their rent is the least expensive considering you are renting short term and not leasing. A selling point for me was that they included taxes, unlike most hotels.
Most of the staff is very friendly but like the other reviewer said a few don't respond a "hello". The stuff that needed fixing during the years, like Internet and plumbing they fixed immediately.
It's not the Trump Plaza, but you are not paying Trump Plaza prices either.

I stayed here for the first four months I lived in Seattle. If you are moving here alone and/or with a pet, it is a good place to start and get your bearings. The rooms are verrrrrrry small, but furnished, and come complete with TV, basic dishware, plates, and flatware. Do not expect a full kitchen--there is a microwave and portable burners, but that is it. Some of the staff members are quite friendly, but others are rude to the point of not even acknowledging a hello. DO NOT rent a computer from the Vermont unless you absolutely need to----it is advertised at $40 a month, which seems reasonable, but then they tack on another $40 for internet service (that part is NOT advertised). Also, while the computer is good for email and web searching, one cannot listen to music, watch shows or movies, etcetc---which seems like a rip off for how expensive it is. There is weekly maid service included in the price of the room, but I found it much easier to clean up after myself as the cleaning staff is not very efficient (AND only seems to come early in the morning; not good for those of us who work nights). Laundry facilities are fine and priced about normal. There are vending machines with sodas, snacks, and even a couple of frozen entrees, but they are out of order half of the time. All in all, it is a good place to start out in Seattle, albiet expensive, but not the best experience I have ever had.
