I pulled up to this store and found the sales associate squating out front like a hobo, smoking, with her muffin top and plumbers crack hanging out for all to see, talking on the phone. She didnt seem phased, as it took her until after I went in, gagged, came out and then another 10 minutes, to go inside to see if my brother needed some help. (I literally took one step in this store and gagged. I had to turn around and make my brother go buy the fish food I needed.) I cannot imagine what has created the stench in this place but perhaps it needs a visit from A&E to shoot an episode of animal hoarders. There's not possible way that this place ever gets cleaned. Something must be dead in there.
While they did have the fish food, and my brother says the sales girl was helpful, the stench alone is enough to deter ANYONE from going inside. I would drive FAR just to avoid having my nostrils violated like they were today.

OMG! If you have never been here to the Pet Stop in Monroe, DON"T BOTHER! It is absolutely disgusting and smells like dead animals-literally.
I heard one of the employees speaking about how the owner of the shop instructed them to put sick or half eaten-by fighting rodents (I assume from over crowding) into the freezer ALIVE!
The store is dirty, disgusting and the staff looked like they needed to check into rehab soon.
There is another store in Snohomish called Country Pets that is even more disgusting except that the owner chain smokes cigarettes and so the death smell not to mention cigs makes the experience there all that much worse.
The animals at this store I can't tell if the obvious respitory problems are from the urine that they live in or a combo of cigarette smoke and piss.
I recommend Bridges pets and that these hidious places are SHUT DOWN FOREVER!!!

I have been to this pet store many times and I am always sickened by the way the 'care' for the animals. The mice, rats, hamsters, and gerbils are all kept in small glass tanks. Up to 20 mice are put into 5 gallon tanks and they do get in fights. Some of them are so young that they are still growing their fur. The rabbits and ferrets are on the other side and they are in small metal cages. The are rarely ever clean and totally overpriced. The ferrets usually go for about $200 or more. The rabbits can barley move around in there cages at all because the cages are so small. Then you have the kittens, they are any where from $60-$100. They are not fixed and vaccinated and sometimes they are sick. The birds are located towards the back of the store and the cages are only cleaned every few weeks. The few reptiles that they have are in a tiny closet that you can't even walk into. Shelves line the walls with overpriced geckos, snakes, lizards, and tarantulas. I usually don't see the door open at all and people can only look if they think you might buy one. There are more fish than any other animal and even they look sick and the betas always look like they are about to die. I actually got a beta once and it died four days later. I have gotten mice and rats before and they live about 2 years. A kitten was also bought by me and she is now very healthy and pregnant.
