We have a Toyota Sienna minivan with rear seats that fold down for cargo storage. The back seat stopped folding down so I took it to Broadway Toyota. They spent half the day looking at the car, charged me a $75 diagnostic fee, then told me the cable and wiring system was shot and had to be replaced to the tune of $600 - $700. We declined to have them perform the maintenance and figured we live with the seat in the upright position.

Six months later, we took the van in to Munson's for something else and I asked them to take a look at it to see if they would charge less than the dealership. They found a kids magnet stuck to one of the connecting points and didn't charge us a penny. I'm NEVER going to a dealership again!

I had purchased a very worn out 89 Civic Wagovan to save on gas. When I took it in for emissions, it flunked badly. I tried doing different things to it to no avail. Munsons was listed as an authorized emissions repair shop so it made sense to me to take it to a place that specializes in Hondas.
Mike studied my emissions results then went out into the shop and diagnosed the problem in no time. I work on cars from time to time but I would never have found the problem myself.
If you have a Honda, why not take it to someone who specializes in Honda? By the way, Munsons Honda is also friendly, honest and affordable.

I've been taking my Acura RS to Munson's for about 3-4 years now. They are friendly, do great work and they repair what needs repairing - not what doesn't. A Portland Acura dealer told me I had an aluminum oil pan and it needed replacing. I opted for an oversized drain plug since the car had over 280,000 miles on it. Mike told me the car had a steel oil pan and it was just fine. So much for dealers. My car now has nearly 305,000 miles, runs like a top and should go another 100,000 miles or so. They do great work, are friendly, knowledgeable and you will not get ripped off.

We used Munson's for the repair of our 1994 Honda Civic. She has over 265000 miles and we were not really sure what was wrong other than just worn out. Thank God I found Munson's. He was very direct let us know exactly what needed to be fixed and how much it would cost. He did give us several options and explained the benefits/costs of each option with no pressure to pick the more expensive option. The work was completed ahead of sschedule and all I can say is WOW I can't remember when she ran this good. Great service and you really get what you pay for! Just awesome all around. They got a client for life.??

To reiterate many here, "he ONLY fixes what needs fixing." I have been "raped" by all other independent and dealer shops in Vancouver and this guy not only fixes what needs fixing, he doesn't charge an arm and leg for replacement parts. Also to the guy who complained that Munson's did not want to use aftermarket parts. Odd, because he installed all the parts I brought in and many were high performance aftermarket parts. You might have brought in junk counterfeit parts off of e-Bay. I cannot say enough good things about Munson's shop. I brought in a 15 year old Honda in questionable condition and he all but restored the car and I left with more money in my pocket than I had anticipated or was quoted by other shops for the same repairs. I am going to sell my other cars and buy only what Munson fixes. I am tired of getting bent over by the other repair shops. Odd, he seems to be the ONLY shop in town where I have never had to take the car back the next day for the same complaint I brought it in for. He fixes it the first time. Be sure to get his book too it is well worth reading and full of excellent advice.

I love Munson's! I have been taking my Honda's there for years. They only fix what needs to be fixed. They are very friendly and very knowledgeable. I thought I would call around to see how much it was to get my transmission fluid changed (as suggested by someone else). Everyone I called gave me a quote for a drain and fill and also a power flush. I called Munson's and he asked why I wanted it changed, was I having problems? He said they will check it first to see if it even needs to be replaced. Got a price quote anyway and they were one of the cheapest. Munson's is a good honest business!

I first used Munson's services earlier this year when I was having "get up and go" issues with my '99 Honda Civic. They were able to fit me in at the last minute with no preexisting appointment and get the work done quickly, correctly and in an affordable manner.

A couple of weeks ago, I ran inside Fred Meyer's on SR-503 for one item. When I returned to my car, it wouldn't start...making only a fast clicking sound when I turned the key. In a panic, I called Munson's and spoke to Mike on the phone, who believed the problem to be my battery. He offered to run over to Fred Meyer's to give me a jump start so I could follow him back to the shop where he could replace my battery. Being strapped for time, I took him up on the offer. He arrived about 5 minutes later and jump started my car. When we got back to Munson's, he got me back on the road quickly and for only the cost of the battery!

Being female, I cannot express my sincere gratitude and pure relief at having found such an honest shop for my car repairs. If you're in the Vancouver area and need work on a Honda or Toyota, DEFINITELY go see them...you won't be disappointed!

These are the ONLY people I will take my vintage Honda Civic to. Contrary to other people's opinions, they are very trustworthy, knowledgable and reasonably priced.

If it needs it, they will replace, perform the work. If it doesn't, they don't. There is no padding the invoice with these guys. Have had excellent results with this shop.

Quick, cheap, polite and pleasant staff. No hassle, no upselling. I'll be back.I shudder to think of returning to the main dealership I bought the car from, last year, EVER. Delighted I found this place.

My wife's Civic needed to have some work done. I had it checked at Ron's Automotive, and they gave me a laundry list of things that needed to be done at a tune of $2100. I was hesitant based on some of the items, so I had Munson's quote the same items. They came in at around $1200 for the same items but said that some of the items may not be necessary. I brought it in, and my total bill was just under $600. They only charged what was necessary and the car is running great.

I brought my Toyota to Munson's for some scheduled maintenance and a minor repair. The staff were very friendly and flexible in terms of scheduling, they explained everything that they had done, didn't try to upsell me on anything, and got the work done quickly. Great place, will definitely return for my next maintenance.

Not only did the guy have an extreme preference to stock parts over aftermarket parts, he told me I needed to replace parts I just had installed because he said the aftermarket parts were not fitting right. I took it to another mechanic and he said it was fine and just a matter of opinion. This could have cost me a fortune, my advice is to choose another mechanic.
