El Gaucho in Bellevue is Best

by Randi B. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,068

They have actually opened up a restaurant in Bellevue and I think it's great. The space is larger and feels more open than the one is Seattle. The food is always fantastic and we've always received such wonderful service.

Wow aren't they self impressed

by Kari M.

Sadly this place used to be okay but the servers have gotten quite full of themselves... if you don't order a bottle of wine at $70 or more they tend to treat you like a second class citizen. The food was okay but really expensive... probably an okay place to propose but go to Canlis.. much better, more romantic and an exceptionally better base fo staff.

Great atmosphere, great steak

by A C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,886

El Gaucho is a good place to go for a special occasion dinner. The interior is very dark, romantic and hip. It feels like a place The Rat Pack would go. Service is excellent, the steaks are out of this world, and the Bananas Foster dessert (prepared on fire at your table, even) is reason enough to go there. It's definitely pricey, but well worth it for a special treat.

They also have private dining rooms you can reserve for events. We didn't choose it for our wedding dinner since their options for vegetarians are somewhat limited (only 1-2 items on the menu), and there isn't any sort of view.

But I highly recommend it for a nice evening on the town, as it's very close to some fun bars and a pool hall.

PROS: great atmosphere, excellent steaks
CONS: not many vegetarian options, expensive

Expensive and worth it

by madge y. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 9,172

Okay, so this restaurant is one of the most expensive. Go here, if you are 1. ready to spend some bling bling, and 2. if you're trying to impress a date. The interior will blow you away. Dark, but classy, ultra classy. The food impeccable. This is definitely a treat restaurant, or I'm-trying-to-impress-a-girl-kind of restaurant. My favorite: Filet mignon.

PROS: Classy, upscale restaurant
CONS: Pricey!
