Schneider Eric E Dvm - Auburn Veterinary Hospital Inc

I came to the emergency clinic in Auburn couple years ago to euthanized my dog. I know its horrible to say this but I was desperate the fact that three other doctors who look at my dog could not figure out whats going on with my dog's mouth who can't close down. My dog is not eating well because his mouth is constantly dropping and his jaw was not right. Doctor Brown saw my dog and he thought the problem can be fixed. Doctor Brown doesn't think he needs to be put to sleep if I'm willing to work a little bit for him. I love my dog and I said "yes i will do my best". Dr. Brown diagnosed my dog and he called it "Drop jaw syndrome". He handed me a piece of paper and some instruction on how to feed my dog. As per Doctor Brown's instruction my dog got better. Thank you Doctor Brown. My dog still alive.

My family pets have been going to Dr Jow and Dr Schneider for nearly 28 years, and we have, on occasion, seen Dr Brown. Now while there are not enough words in this posting to express my deep appreciation for Dr. Jow and Dr Schneider; one must understand that when you take an animal in for emergency treatment, Dr Brown does not have the time to waste on being attentive to our human needs. He may seem gruff, but do not underestimate his ability or compassion for the animals in his care. I too have lost some of my canine buddies - to parvo, heart failure, benign lumps . . . no matter how you lose a buddy, it hurts bad. Yet, every single vet and staff member I have come to know at Auburn Vet Hospital have ALWAYS exceeded my expectations. And I would never have anyone other than the vets at Auburn Vet Hospital take care of them.

I just took my cat to see Dr. Brown, and he was extremely rude, and seemed to have very little experience dealing with cats. I will admit that our cat was pretty frazzled because that's how cats get when you take them to the vet often times. Dr. Brown didn't think about this, and expected the cat to be the friendliest cuddliest animal in the world. I would definitely recommend that anyone having trouble with their cat should take it elsewhere because this man is for sure not good at handling cats, and from the other reviews he seems to have problems with dogs too. He did a very half-hearted examination of our cat, but thankfully, by luck our cat is getting better. Only take your animal to this practice if it is your very last resort!

I have been taking my animals to Dr. Schneider and Dr. Jow for years. They both take the time to answer all my questions and they treat all animals as if they were their own. I just recently boarded my golden retriever with them for 4 days and it was a great experience. Their prices are reasonable and the technicians are always so excited to see my golden so I know they are taking excellent care of him. When I dropped my dog off I told them that we had been having trouble getting some mats out (I didn't want them to think I was neglecting my baby). When I picked him up they told me that they had groomed him and got out some of the mats. And at no extra charge. That just further showed me that they care enough to take extra steps for the well being of the animals. I would recommend this veterinary hospital to everyone!

We could not think more highly of Dr, Schneider, Jow and Collum. Their staff is also wonderful - always friendly, welcoming and professional. We have been coming here for 25 + years.They are very skilled and treat our pets like one of their own. We can also get excellent feedback with a phone call if we need it. Our dogs and cats have also been boarded there and they always come home well and happy. I would highly recommend this vet hospital.

I have taken my Bernese Mountain Dog to this vet for two years, and my family has taken their pets to this vet for 20+ years. I have seen Dr. Schneider, Jow, and Collum and they are all three extremely knowledgeable. They take time to answer all of my questions and because I am a regular customer, are always willing to help when I call with questions too. I would HIGHLY recommend taking your pet to see these capable and friendly doctors. The staff are great as well, always excited to see the animals that come in for appointments. My dog loves going to the vet and our experience here has been nothing but great. They are very good with the animals and will go above and beyond what is expected.

I know it's confusing, but apparently two separate veterinary practices share this facility. During the day Drs. Jow and Schneider run an absolutely outstanding vet clinic. After they are gone for the day a different group (I'm guessing Dr. Brown) uses the same office space for an after hours Emergency veterinary hospital.

Please don't confuse the two practices!!! Drs. Schneider and Jow have decades of experience between them, are very conservative and old school, and are extremely competent. I have been taking my Golden retriever to them for about six years now, ever since my old vet became a doc-in-the-box. Drs. Schneider and Jow don't overbook appointments. I always have a minimum of 30 minutes with the doctors, often longer, and they always make sure all my questions are answered before I leave. They strongly believe in preventative medicine to keep your pet healthy. Their prices are very reasonable and much lower than my previous vet.

The building is older and doesn't look all shiny and high-tech, but what really matters is the excellent care and treatment they give. I recommend Drs. Schneider and Jow to anyone who is looking for a veterinarian. These doctors are top notch.

We took our very sick weiner dog in late Saturday night. Saw Dr. Brown for only a few minutes. He checked her out thoroughly and suggested they keep her for iv therapy and blood work. They found that she was seriously anemic and they started cortizone treatments. They kept us updated on Sunday. We went back Monday morning. Dr. Brown was very patient. He went over everything and gave us extra tubes of blood for our family vet. Sent x-rays with us and said all the paperwork from her stay would be faxed to our vet. He was realistic with us about our Bailey's condition but he was compassionate. He took very good care of Bailey and we had absolutely no problems. I thought his rates were very reasonable.

Auburn Veterinary Hospital is an excellent facility. Drs. Schneider, Jow and Collum have provided attentive, compassionate care for my pets for over 30 years. The staff is equally welcoming and show concern and care whenever I call with a question or come by to refill an RX. They offer on-site lab service for routine work and also do x-rays onsite which gets fast answers for their diagnostic work. They handle dogs and cats as well as smaller pets such as hamsters, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits.

I, too have had less-than-professional service from Dr. Brown, but he is NOT affiliated with the Auburn Veterinary Hospital itself - he rents space and is open for emergency services only.

Well.. I don't think I will use Dr. brown again . He is condescending and curt and generally gives off an air of distain for his chosen profession . I felt that he could of done more to help the people who bring there beloved pets to his door rather than acting like he is doing them a favor just for letting them in the door. His pet side manor is dismal at best especially when asking owners about euthanizing there pets, explaining that the "animal is way far gone" I think is cruel .

The best thing about them is that they are open 24 hours a day and you never know when your pet will get sick. They do charge a bit more than the average vet around but when you need it they are there.

PROS: open 24 hours
CONS: the charges
