We purchased a puppy on a Thursday night from a lady that did not do as she stated and give the puppy shots. Needless to say the puppy was sick and had parvo. We first took our puppy to Sumner Vet where the said the puppy did in fact have parvo and that it was a 1500.00 deposit and it would have to be paid now or we would have to leave. We called Auburn Vet and they took us in and let us pay a deposit of 500.00 and took our puppy in for imediate care. The same day we had to put our 14 year old dog down. Both the doctors and the assistants were the most caring and gentle people we have ever met. They put our dog down with so much compassion that they made what was a very trying experience an experience of relief. He told us that we had done the right thing and took very good care of our animal. They puppy stayed for 5 nights and came home a very happy and healthy playful puppy. I truely believe that the Vets and staff at this hospital are a god send. I will never use another vet and will recomend everyone to them. WE LOVE YOU!!!!

We took our friends pup to see Dr Brown on Sunday afternoon. After a short wait, we were seen by Dr Brown and felt extremely confident with his evaluation and his "tableside manner". He was kind and compassionate with Cricket and the estimate wasn't as bad as we thought (for a broken leg.)
I am glad I didn't pay any attention to the negative remarks made by others on this site. Highly recommended.

Dr. Jow treated my chow in 2010. He offered options for her care that included daily outpatient care instead of an expensive inpatient stay. This allowed her to be calm and relaxed and I had a chance to spend, what turned out to be her last week, with her at home where she wanted to be. He had a genuine concern for the comfort of the dog as well as a respect for my time.

When I did have to make the agonizing decision to put her down I knew that all reasonable things had been done and that it was a medical decision, not financial.

The doctor called the day after we had her euthanized to check on the mental status of me, my wife, and our other dog. I believe that Dr. Jow really cares.

This is a great place to take your pet. I can't say enough good things about the staff. After adopting a very fearful and aggressive dog I took him to a vet in Kent that refused to examine him, instead gave me a bottle of Valium and told me not to bring him back unless he was sedated. Then I found Auburn Vet Hosp and they were totally able to deal with my dog and even trimmed his nails without sedation! He has become a more socialable dog over time and easier to handle but I am forever grateful for their willingness to work with my challenging dog. They treat their patients and their owners with TLC and compassion. When I travel I feel secure knowing they are taking good care of my precious little guy!

I came to the emergency clinic in Auburn couple years ago to euthanized my dog. I know its horrible to say this but I was desperate the fact that three other doctors who look at my dog could not figure out whats going on with my dog's mouth who can't close down. My dog is not eating well because his mouth is constantly dropping and his jaw was not right. Doctor Brown saw my dog and he thought the problem can be fixed. Doctor Brown doesn't think he needs to be put to sleep if I'm willing to work a little bit for him. I love my dog and I said "yes i will do my best". Dr. Brown diagnosed my dog and he called it "Drop jaw syndrome". He handed me a piece of paper and some instruction on how to feed my dog. As per Doctor Brown's instruction my dog got better. Thank you Doctor Brown. My dog still alive.

My family pets have been going to Dr Jow and Dr Schneider for nearly 28 years, and we have, on occasion, seen Dr Brown. Now while there are not enough words in this posting to express my deep appreciation for Dr. Jow and Dr Schneider; one must understand that when you take an animal in for emergency treatment, Dr Brown does not have the time to waste on being attentive to our human needs. He may seem gruff, but do not underestimate his ability or compassion for the animals in his care. I too have lost some of my canine buddies - to parvo, heart failure, benign lumps . . . no matter how you lose a buddy, it hurts bad. Yet, every single vet and staff member I have come to know at Auburn Vet Hospital have ALWAYS exceeded my expectations. And I would never have anyone other than the vets at Auburn Vet Hospital take care of them.

I have been taking my animals to Dr. Schneider and Dr. Jow for years. They both take the time to answer all my questions and they treat all animals as if they were their own. I just recently boarded my golden retriever with them for 4 days and it was a great experience. Their prices are reasonable and the technicians are always so excited to see my golden so I know they are taking excellent care of him. When I dropped my dog off I told them that we had been having trouble getting some mats out (I didn't want them to think I was neglecting my baby). When I picked him up they told me that they had groomed him and got out some of the mats. And at no extra charge. That just further showed me that they care enough to take extra steps for the well being of the animals. I would recommend this veterinary hospital to everyone!

We could not think more highly of Dr, Schneider, Jow and Collum. Their staff is also wonderful - always friendly, welcoming and professional. We have been coming here for 25 + years. They are very skilled and treat our pets like one of their own. We can also get excellent feedback with a phone call if we need it. Our dogs and cats have also been boarded there and they always come home well and happy. I would highly recommend this vet hospital.

I have taken my Bernese Mountain Dog to this vet for two years, and my family has taken their pets to this vet for 20+ years. I have seen Dr. Schneider, Jow, and Collum and they are all three extremely knowledgeable. They take time to answer all of my questions and because I am a regular customer, are always willing to help when I call with questions too. I would HIGHLY recommend taking your pet to see these capable and friendly doctors. The staff are great as well, always excited to see the animals that come in for appointments. My dog loves going to the vet and our experience here has been nothing but great. They are very good with the animals and will go above and beyond what is expected.

I know it's confusing, but apparently two separate veterinary practices share this facility. During the day Drs. Jow and Schneider run an absolutely outstanding vet clinic. After they are gone for the day a different group (I'm guessing Dr. Brown) uses the same office space for an after hours Emergency veterinary hospital.

Please don't confuse the two practices!!! Drs. Schneider and Jow have decades of experience between them, are very conservative and old school, and are extremely competent. I have been taking my Golden retriever to them for about six years now, ever since my old vet became a doc-in-the-box. Drs. Schneider and Jow don't overbook appointments. I always have a minimum of 30 minutes with the doctors, often longer, and they always make sure all my questions are answered before I leave. They strongly believe in preventative medicine to keep your pet healthy. Their prices are very reasonable and much lower than my previous vet.

The building is older and doesn't look all shiny and high-tech, but what really matters is the excellent care and treatment they give. I recommend Drs. Schneider and Jow to anyone who is looking for a veterinarian. These doctors are top notch.

We took our very sick weiner dog in late Saturday night. Saw Dr. Brown for only a few minutes. He checked her out thoroughly and suggested they keep her for iv therapy and blood work. They found that she was seriously anemic and they started cortizone treatments. They kept us updated on Sunday. We went back Monday morning. Dr. Brown was very patient. He went over everything and gave us extra tubes of blood for our family vet. Sent x-rays with us and said all the paperwork from her stay would be faxed to our vet. He was realistic with us about our Bailey's condition but he was compassionate. He took very good care of Bailey and we had absolutely no problems. I thought his rates were very reasonable.

I recently had a pet emergency with my 5 year old dog. I called the Auburn Vet Hospital at 845 am on Saturday and much like the other reviewers I was only able to recieve information regarding a paymet that would have to be made. When I orignially called it was a basic $65.00 fee and I would have to be there in the next hour or I would have to make an appointment with the regular hour Vet and that may take days. I didn't have days so I said I will be right down. I live less than 5 minutes away.......so I was right down. I rang the door bell and waited outside in the cold for many minutes. A dull whitted girl comes to the door and acts suprised to see me. She tells me she will ask if the vet is willing to see me and much like the wizard of oz she shuts the door on my face and leaves me and my sick dog outside. She returns and gifts me with the information that the fine doctor will service my dog....A SERVICE THEY MARKET AS THIER CHOSEN JOB! I wait a long time and then a strange vet comes in and makes me feel like I am a bad pet owner. He then provides me with a $500 quote and in a state of panic and self doubt I sign over my life. I then realize that the 65 fee is now 85 and that if I would have waited an hour I could have been seen fast and not paid any after hours fee. My dof is now on the mend but this was not a great experience!!

Auburn Veterinary Hospital is an excellent facility. Drs. Schneider, Jow and Collum have provided attentive, compassionate care for my pets for over 30 years. The staff is equally welcoming and show concern and care whenever I call with a question or come by to refill an RX. They offer on-site lab service for routine work and also do x-rays onsite which gets fast answers for their diagnostic work. They handle dogs and cats as well as smaller pets such as hamsters, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits.

I, too have had less-than-professional service from Dr. Brown, but he is NOT affiliated with the Auburn Veterinary Hospital itself - he rents space and is open for emergency services only.

The saddest part of me coming to this site and reading that other families horrible experience is seeing that this is not uncommon for this vet ER. How upsetting that when we have a problem with a family pet that we cannot trust people whom we should be able to.

The highlights: I called because my kitten was throwing up blod over and over. The girl asked no Qs and kept repeating that I'd have to pay upon arrival. I said I'd be there in 15 mins. Rang the bell, waited, was let in oddly, thrown a form and girl stated "I'll be back.... whenever." I then stood there at the front desk alone at 10pm at night for 55 mins. Tried to get the young girl and Dr.s attention repeatedly and they ignored and rushed down the hall. Finally called a vet ER in Tacoma and was told that they immediately triage the animal. These people had not even LOOKED AT my cat in her cage let alone taken vitals. I walked into the back to tell them I was leaving and surprised to see FIVE workers back there. They basically begged me to stay and the dr. looking annoyed said he'd look at my cat in 5 mins. I just wanted to leave but said fine.

Inside the room I was assigned, there are no doors inbetween the rooms so I kept my kitten in cage due to dog in room next to us with no barrier inbetween. Dr. took vitals and gave her fluids via IV for 5 mins. The young girl checked me out for $140 and told me to restrict my cats food/water for a day then feed bland chicken and scrambled eggs. ???

In the room next to me the famly was clearly upset about their animal and were given mis-information about whether they had to pay $500 right now as a down payment or if that was full payment. they thought that was the full payment and only had to pay less than for down payment. Felt badly for them.

Go to vet in Tacoma on 56th/Durango. They are phenomenal.

My cat my have leukemia or a bad virus. Her white blod cells were EXTREMELY low. She was in the vet ER 3 days in Tacoma b/c she was very sick afterall.

On Christmas Eve our kitten fell from the top floor of our home to the bottom floor, which resulted in either a broken or sprained foot. Having no experience with cat injuries, both my husband and I were extremely upset. We found the first place that was open, Auburn Veterinary Hospital (718 Auburn Way North). We called and were told that he would have a room right away and to come in as soon as possible. We arrived as a pizza delivery guy was arriving and had to STAND and wait with our cat for about 30 minutes while the staff apparently ate their pizza. We were finally given a room, in which a vet assistant came in right away to weigh our cat and take down a few notes. About 10 minutes later the vet came into the room. His name is MICHAEL BROWN. Don't ever take your animal to this man. For one, he is completely rude. Upon asking for clarification in regards to our animal he looked me in the eye and said "lady, that is what I just said to you". He lacked respect for both my husband and I and our cat. He told us to take our cat home, no x-rays were done, and have him rest for a day or two. For two, he lacked knowledge of animals. We have been told since then that for 1) he should have x-rayed our cat and 2) he should have spent more than 3 minutes on the exam. Please, please, please do not trust this place with your animals.

The best thing about them is that they are open 24 hours a day and you never know when your pet will get sick. They do charge a bit more than the average vet around but when you need it they are there.

PROS: open 24 hours
CONS: the charges

The best thing about them is that they are open 24 hours a day and you never know when your pet will get sick. They do charge a bit more than the average vet around but when you need it they are there.

PROS: open 24 hours
CONS: the charges
