If you like being insulted by bartenders and security alike this IS the place to be! The staff are mostly minumum-wage losers from the local area. And sadly get their kicks insulting paying customers who try to come and have a good time.

If you make the mistake of going to TheirPlace you may enjoy a few visits before they single you out for humiliation in front of all your friends. But an employee will shit on your parade and you will feel like I do eventually.

Just trying to warn Seattle ppl before they waste their $ on this shit-hole :)

Pros: worst bartenders in Seattle

Cons: you NEVER want to come back again

Back in the day this place was friendly and had the great atmosphere of a diverse crowd. I loved the different levels that catered to how u might feel that night. Now i have no idea what happened the staff are rude and racist. I overheard them call someone a gook. The police are always there and the staff talk to people with disdain. The drinks are getting weaker and more expensive. I can no longer say this place is great, i dont like house music but neighbours is a way better place. Stay away from R-Place they need to shut the place down asap. They make a bad name for the seattle gay scene and the place is RACIST. I never understood how a gay person could be racist but.......Terrible place the worst..save your money

Great place to go, for a gay guy, if you like being surrounded by giggly, bubbly, young straight women (who can't hold thier liquor) and being accused of grabbing thier asses.

It's a whole new bar-genre! But maybe, not a gay bar anymore?

Rplace has three floors of fun. The staff is friendly . There have a drag show on Friday and Saturday nights .
The drinks are great the music is good. darts and pool on the second floor. dance floor on the top. bars on all three floors. Coat check is a dollar cover varies from night to night. over all great experience. Primarily a gay bar but everyone is more than welcomed into this local cheer type atmosphere dance club.

Drinks are expensive, I spent more than a $100 on a couple of drinks. The crowd and the security were totally abusive and there wasn't a lot of people there even though it was a saturday. I don't recommend it.

Pros: They play a lot of Hip Hop

.

R place was my favorite place after Neighbors but until when I went there with my friends for the third or fourth time and got humiliated by the security, it is no longer our weekend destination. They shoved us down the stairs and out the door in the middle of the night for no apparent reason! We only had a drink since we came in so it wasn't because we were intoxicated or anything. We talked to the management and they were as rude as the security and told us it was a "private place" and they can do whatever they please!! I wont pay a cover charge to get humiliated, its not worth it. Its never as crowded as it was a few months ago anymore!! Go to Neighbors or The Cuff for the best crowd.

The security wasn't as violent until the management was changed about a few months ago. I saw the quality of the atmosphere decline as the management got more violent with their customers. However i heard this place is closing due to number of complaints about this place!

Pros: great place for gangsters

Cons: not as crowded as it was.

I've heard a lot of good things about R place so I went to check it out. While I was there, I witnessed 2 fights on the same night!!! The security was very demeaning, they shoved me and my friends out the door even though it was when after everything calmed down. They started yelling profanity at us. We talked to the manager about the incident and he told us he didn't care!! So we got our stuff together AND WENT TO NEIGHBORS!! there are a lot of other clubs to go to besides this one. The Cuff, Eagle, and Purr are my favorite!! Have fun!!

I'd like to start off by saying that I've been living in the Castro area in San Francisco for about seven years now, worked at the The End Up, Badlands.... these are really great gay clubs in SF, last weekend I came by my self to Seattle and decided to visit this place, as soon as I was on the third floor I was a little confused by the three floors, how was the first one different from the second one..? and let me get right into my MAIN complaint about this place.... THE MUSIC.... seems like somebody thinks this is a club for straigtht ppl where girls are grinding the guys as if there was no tomorrow.... isn't obvious what music it should be playing... and there might be some of you that think that the music is fine...OK, well why not have a theme for this kind of music for another day, a thursday ? but not weekends, I think most ppl are better dancers when it comes to dance music, its just more natural and gracefull than trying to dance to hip hop... yucks!
drinks were fine, nothing out of the ordinary.... I wouldn't come back here ever.....

R Place?? Please, everyone knows the best gay sports bar in town is the Madison Pub. Going to watch a game at R Place is like watching a game at a sleep study.

I enjoy going to R Place with good friends for a fun atmosphere. There are darts and pool, quiet(er) places to sit, and upstairs, the music and drinks are always flowing. Good any night of the week, but if you like a crowd then the weekend are for you.

2: This is a gay bar... R Place is typical fare on Capitol Hill. It's consistently crowded and for good reason. The drinks are good and the patrons are friendly (mostly) and happy hour is from 4 to 7 daily! There are theme nights and they have costume contests on Halloween etc. Though it is generally a gay club/bar, everyone is welcome! Nothing is cheap, but happy hour there is pretty rad!

A few friends and I were looking for a change of a pace and somewhere new to go, and we happened upon R Place. It is a nice breath of fresh air! There is a bar and some seating on the first floor, and on the second floor there are pool tables. The third floor has a dance floor, a bar, and a pole for those unmodest types to play on. I found the atmosphere to be friendly and fun, while crowded it was not too entirely packed, and the drink prices are good. I've only been on Saturdays where the music is hip-hop oriented, which isn't my favorite but is still fun. I reccomend this place to go with friends for just a good night of fun, drinks, and dancing.

My friends and I tried this place a couple times on Saturday night. But everytime we went there, we hated music and videos they played expecially on 1st and 2nd floor. We were expecting fun Electronica and House but all they played were boring Hip hop & Rap with straight videos on and on and on... If you are looking for gay taste, go to Neighbours.

To begin with,R Place is a great place to meet friends or to make new friends. There are three floors that offer different entertainment. The first floor is good for conversation. The second floor has pool tables,Darts and other games. And the third floor(my personal fav)is the dancing and event area. And when I say event, I mean Wednsday nights WET and Thursdays Amateur Strip Show. Be aware though, both nights are fun but can be quite naughty! Of course, theres always dancing the night away!

if you're looking for a place with a great atmosphere for that after-work drink, Bartender Jeff has created that atmosphere at Rplace. on top of pouring a mean cocktail, hottie Jeff is one of the friendliest, funniest, most delicious bartenders you'll find on the hill. Jeff has a well established crowd of loyal fans (customers) who come back day after day to kick back & relax as Jeff lets the good times pour freely.

Bar owners Rick & Steve have really scored big with Jeff behind the bar. Better hold on to him boys, cuz any bar in town would lucky to have a pistol like Jeff pouring for them!

Check it out. go see Jeff & tell him Ben aksed how he dur?

A crowded, fun place to go, R Place is consistently entertaining, has fun couches on its mezzanine floor and some great dancing on the upper one. The lady who works the door on weekends WILL remember you after your first visit and the drinks are strong. A tip: park in the SCCC Garage on weekends. It's cheap.

*Being a lover of mixed races, diversity, and R&B Hip Hop music, I have to say this is the BEST place ta just dance and kick it w/friends..(also the only r&b hip hop gay club on the west coast it seems)..besides Rage in LALA land...usually no attitude, just drunken fun at Rplace! It would be nice to have a deeper R&B hiphop rap music vibe..it's kinda MTVish but it's iight!!**Can We Get A/C on the THIRD FLOOR please? at least turn on the fans/open the windows! it's hard to stay for a few hours on the weekends cause it gets so packed, and sweaty hot on the 3rd floor..expect a sidewalk sale after 2am*

R Place has transformed itself into the club that all the others want to be. Instead of turning their back on what the patrons have to say, they've listened! Theres more to hear than tired circuit music (the Cuff) and more to see than pouty wannabe's (Blu). R Place is the truest represeantation of the diversity within the Seattle gay community. White, Black, Asian,Gay, Bi, Lesbian, Hip Hop, R&B, Tuesday thru Sunday..It's on! And no "hater'ations"!

A bar in Seattle that is as diverse as the culture and people that live here. The music is energetic and up to date (think Ja Rule to Brittany Spears) and caters to all taste from hip-hop to pop (none of that wild-lady-screaming circuit party crap you hear everywhere else). And NO ATTITUDE ALLOWED! Dancing is the bomb, the boys are cute, the girls are gorgeous and the staff is as friendly as a hometown family reunion. The most attractive thing about R place now is that you get all this and it's absolutely FREE. No Cover! You can't beat that anywhere in Seattle. The managers are the DJ's on the third floor and are the cutest one's around.

Not what it used to be. Was dissapointed after visiting R Place after a few years. Used to be a fun neighborhood "sports" bar. Seems to have lost its charm, is just another clone gay bar, and too much loud rap music for my taste. Hopefully someday Seattle will get back another gay sports bar.
