To The Owner of Mazatlan Restaurant

I just wanted to let you know that I have been having lunch at your restaurant at least once a week for the last 2 years. I think that it??s the best Mexican cuisine that I??ve ever had. In fact, since I have found your restaurant, other Mexican restaurants can hardly compare. I work near you establishment and it makes it very convenient to go there for lunch and have a very relaxing, delicious meal. I have never been disappointed. Where I work I have the opportunity to recommend your place to customers that are waiting to have service on there vehicle. My customers thank me for the recommendation and pass on the word, saying that they will definitely go there again, people that don??t even live in the area. When friends or family meet me in Renton for lunch, I always take them to your restaurant. I just wanted you to know how good I think your food is.

After today it made me think of how much I have spent in your establishment. I normally order the Pollo a la Crema $9.95, when its?? not the lunch special. Sometimes I just order the special, maybe 1 out of 3 times? I usually come in once a week at least, sometimes three times. Sometimes I don??t come in for a couple of weeks. Lets just average once a week to make it easy. Once a week at $7.95.. I??m guessing that??s the average of the $6.95 and $9.95.. More time then not, it is $9.95. 104 (104 weeks in 2 years) x $7.95 = $826.80. Not including tax, tip, drinks or paying for friends or family.

The only reason I even thought of this is because when I came in the other day and enjoyed my lunch immensely, when it was time to pay I was told that I short paid the last time I was in, by $2.65. How I did this, I have no idea. I was embarrassed that I did and by all means, it was an accident. I was glad that it was brought to my attention and was happy to pay what I owed but that day I only had so much cash on me and needless to say I had to practically empty my purse on the counter to get to the bottom of it to pay the last of what I owed in pennies? I was embarrassed that I made the mistake but after I thought about it, I was embarrassed for you that you really had to ask for it, obviously it was a mistake on my part, couldn??t I have just brought it in on another day when I was carrying more cash or couldn??t you just mention it to me and tell me to just forget and thank me for my continuous business. Normally I carry my ticket/tap/check/receipt to the counter or just go to the counter and wait for my ticket, one of the few times I leave my money on the table and walk out, I make that mistake. I don??t have a problem paying for what I owe but that is not the point. My point is, was that $2.65 that important that you made sure I paid it and embarrassed a good customer? You probably give away more then that in chips, salsa and soup. I think as a person that works with the public, it was handled very poorly and I feel that I put more value into your good food then you do in a loyal customer.

I will miss your Pollo a la Crema very much but I do have more pride then that, you treated me like a criminal. I never thought that your people were very friendly, they sometimes acted as if I was an inconvenience but I over looked that because I wasn??t there for friendly conversation anyway, I just wanted the good food and figured they just might not be friendly people.

I won??t be recommending your place to anyone else and the few people I have told about my mistake and the way it was handled, they told me that they were always going to try your restaurant because I spoke so highly of it but not now, it??s just bad business and no I don??t feel you owe me anything but you made a big deal of a small mistake and now I am.

I hesitated to put this in a review for the public to see, there is no doubt the food is delicious but the service is poor and I felt that before I short changed you. Again I apologize for shorting you on my bill but I hope in the future, you take a look at your procedure on how it??s handled. You lost a loyal and consistent customer.

I went there just to eat , thinking it was a common restaurant like the others. BUT WOW I WAS AMAZED THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS, THE KAREOKE WAS AWSOME, SUPER FUN. THE DRINKS ARE SPECTACULAR, THE ENVIROMENT WAS THE BEST EVER..& ABOUT SERVICE I HAVE TO GIVE THEM 5 STARS... I JUST LOVE IT

When you walk in the door, you will see an abuela hand making tortillas, which should give you a clue as to the quality of food here. The manager will come check on you, just to make sure that things are up to your standards. The food is great, and when you are in the mood for Mexican food, I'd certainly recommend giving them a try! The prices are very reasonable!
