The Steer Inn has been one of my favorites every since I was introduced to it as a teenager. It is one of Spokane's best burger joints. The only problem is that I've always had to limit my trips because it takes so long from downtown to get to it by taking slow North Division.
The Steer Inn is a throwback to the '50's burger joint and they have great cheeseburgers. Their prices are equal to or less than what you are going to find for a burger at the regular chain stores you are going to find anywhere. You are not going to find a better burger at one of those chain stores.

I like to stop in at the Steer Inn on my way back from Spokane. They have good
fishwiches and french fries, and what I really like to order are their
chocolate milkshakes. They are rich and chocolate-y the way I like them and
even better if you remember to ask for malt.
