I have eaten here a few times and can honestly say I did not find any of my visits enjoyable. The Krain can get very busy, especially on weekend mornings, so you may be required to wait for a table.
Be prepared for smaller portions at the same cost as similar local restaurants. Omelets are about 1/4 to 1/3 smaller than what you would get in another restaurant with the same number of eggs. The French toast tends to be sour, while the pancakes you could easily make in your own home with Bisquick mix. That is not an exaggeration, the pancakes taste just like Bisquick. Just a little warning - the hash-browns are actually country fries.

Family owned and almost going out of business due to the bridge closure, so get there and check it out. It's like eating in someone's kitchen. Portions are good, not too expensive, and waitstaff is decent. We had the rib eye steak and seafood platter. I thought my husband's eyes were gonna pop out of his head when he saw the piece of fish he got!

A little dirty inside and cluttered but the food is always great. Staff is ok, not too friendly but not rude either. We usually go with a group and they always get us seated quickly.

We went here for breakfast on Mother's Day and it was so great. The prices were very nice and the food was spectacular. This is a very nice family owned place, a little out of the way for us but very much worth the trip from Des Moines.
