.

The Bothell library is a regional center for the wonderful King County Library System, one of the more progressive library systems in the country. You can go online and reserve books, which will automatically be sent to the branch of your choice, or you can download electronic visual or electronic audible books. There are also volunteer services to take books to homebound patrons. In addition, there are in-library programs, such as ESL learning programs and elementary schoolage summer reading programs.

The Bothell library was remodeled this spring, and it is a light and airy space with lots of natural wood. There are dozens of computers available for public use, and knowledgeable and pleasant reference and children's librarians on hand to channel interests in a productive direction. There is also a sizeable meeting room that is used for the annual fundraising used books sale and for community meetings. This library gets a lot of use, and it is easy to see why.

PROS: Part of the KCLS network, yet small enough to be friendly
CONS: Nothing, if you like books
