Not so good. Was good when it opened, not so much any more. Poor imitation of southwest quisine.

Pros: Example: best croissants in town

Cons: What are the drawbacks?

If you are looking for a nice evening out with the family without breaking the bank, Canyons is a great choice. The food is delicious, well-prepared and reasonably priced for a mid-range-priced family restaurtant. My family of four can eat there for between $50 to $65, which includes a 20% tip for the waiter and a corn fritter appetizer we can all share.

Their specialty is mouth-watering BBQ ribs, which are so tender the meat falls off the bone! I also recommend their incredible corn fritters, which they serve with honey butter, as an appetizer.

The decor is fun with primitive cave-painting-style art on the walls, subdued lighting and a warm color scheme that are very relaxing. My daughter loves their children't menu which keeps her busy (and quiet) throughout the meal every time we go.

The wait staff is friendly and have always promptly refilled our glasses and checked on us throughout our meals.

If you are planning on going to a movie at Galaxy Theaters after dinner, you can buy your movie tickets right there in restaurant from the waiter! If you've already seen a movie, save your ticket stub because you'll get a discount on your meal if you present it to the water when it's time to pay the bill.

Visit this restaurant when you want to have a nice dinner out - you'll be glad you did!

Canyons has a great selection of foods you won't find on the menus of the other restaurants in Monroe. They have several fish choices and use lots of spice! My absolute favorite are the blackened fish tacos. Kids menu is a little pricey.

We have been there 3 or 4 times and have decided that, first, you are better off in the bar than the dining room and making friends with one of the bartenders will ensure a nice time. We prefer to have appetizers and cocktails in bar, the dinner menu prices are too high for what it is. Don't get me wrong, we are not cheap. We just like to get what we pay for. We don't mind spending $150 - $200 for the two of us to have a quality dinner and drinks or bottle of wine, if it is good. But, $30 for a fillet with instant mashed potatoes that is served on a cold plate? Dinners do not include salad or bread, just the meat, instant potatoes, and vegie. The servers are young and have little knowledge of what they serve or what drinks, wine, etc are available from the bar. If they want people to be happy spending such money, they need to bump up quality and service. Not once has a server checked back after food was delivered. The decor and artwork is nice but, in general, it feels like a glorified Shari's. If you aren't bringing children, try the bar.

My husband and I ate here a few times recently, and every time we have had a meal at Canyons the food has been extremely delcious!

We both had been looking in the area for a good BBQ restaurant, and while Canyons isn't exactly a BBQ place they do have excellent Baby Back Ribs!

So far, the few times we have been to Canyons in Monroe there hasn't been a wait, and the restaurant is fairly quiet...And we go on the weekend when other places are fairly busy. I don't know if it is the fact that the restaurant is fairly new, or what...But the food is absolutely delicious!

I love the way the restaurant is decorated as well, it looks like the owners maybe love to travel and have all sorts of different art from different areas, etc. It is a very nice restaurant overall!

Also, their beer selection is great - on their menu they have a "map" showing you the different beers on the sweet/bitter, light/dark scale. It is really unique, and always a great time!

I highly recommend this if you're looking for a nice place to go to dinner :)

PROS: Great Food, Friendly Staff, Good Atmosphere, Reasonably Priced
CONS: None
