You can easily visit this museum in a couple of hours. The tropical butterfly house has a bit of a long line to wait in, but being in a room with tons of butterflies flying around you is cool. The dinosaur exhibit features dinosaurs with moving tails, heads, and limbs. The Goose Bumps! The Science Of Fear exhibit was boring with the signs hanging on the walls and not much else. The hands-on kids' setups throughout the museum looked like fun, even for adult me. If you like science, then you should check out this museum for some fun, for both kids and adults.

The Pacific Science Center is a great destination for any day of the week. The Center has a great food pavilion, fun amusement park, the Space Needle (a must for out-of-towners) and my favorite the IMAX theater.

PROS: Imax, Space Needle (view), food
CONS: parking may be a few blocks away.

We had a seasons pass here for many years and it was well worth it. It is a favorite place for us to take visitors also. There is plenty to do for kids and everyone can learn something while you are there.

This is a wonderful place for people of all ages. The structure is beautiful, and everything inside in enjoyable. It has so many different areas, it is hard to describe it all. There is the 'starry sky', where we can learn about our night skies--there is the water area, where little ones can play, there is so much to do, that you can keep busy all day long.

PROS: A fascinating place in the heart of Seattle.
CONS:

This place has great science exhibits. Sometimes they even have video game exhibits as well. I love the laser light shows because the music themes that come with it are awesome though they are held late at night. I loved watching the Pink Floyd one and I would love to see one of the industrial ones as well.

The variety of activities is huge! Our children range in age from 6 to 13 and we all had a great time with activities to entertain even my husband. If you are looking for something to do indoors this is a great place. There is several floors of activities and an IMAX theater. The movies vary by day so I'd check it out to see whats playing. We watched a 3D movie today that was very entertaining. Even young infants were quiet through the 45 minute movie. My children each had a different favorite activity but we all had a great time.
I'd also recommend getting a family pass if you like science and live anywhere in Western Washington. Another suggestion is to bring a pick nick lunch or plan to purchase food from the food court.

PROS: Family pass, great hours, huge variety of activities,
CONS: none

I love the science center! I usually go there on rainy days, heck even on sunny days! It's a great place for all ages. The exhibits are very unique and you can learn a lot from them. The key features of the science center are the Boeing Imax theater and the butterfly house. The theater's screen is a whopping 10 stories high. Surround sound and all the great ish. I would definitely recommend getting a membership there. Memberships are really cheap and they last year long. The family membership is a really good bargin, but nothing beats the PLATINUM membership. It's loaded, comes with 6 imax movies per person up to 6 in a household. Year long admission for free, up to 5 free guest for exhibits, and special engagement passes for everyone on the membership. You also get discounts and all the great stuff the science center has to offer. PICK UP A MEMBERSHIP IN THE MEMBERSHIP OFFICE!!!! Best place hands down for any age.

PROS: Awesome all together
CONS: parking

I remember the Pacific Science Center from when I was young. There was a bike that you could ride on a tightrope with a massive weight hainging down as a counterbalance. Now that I live here I see the Center all the time, but I know that it's a definite must for kids. Adults will probably get more out of the IMAX theatre which plays hollywood movies like Harry Potter and the Matrix.

The Pacific Science Center is always a treat to visit. While some of the exhibits are geared specifically towards children, there is always something to do or learn in a fun and family-friendly way. There are several hands-on exhibits that allow students to learn by being a part of the concepts. There are also IMAX shows that can be for families or adults, and are a lot of fun to attend. This is a great place to bring your family or a class for a field trip. The displays rotate, so you can pick when to attend based on your interests in current topics.

This place has a tendancy to bring back childhood memories. Even if you were not born in seattle or been to a science themed museum, you will be hit with childlike curiosity. You will find yourself rolling around with the snakes and the naked mole rats. You will find yourself checking out the robots and dinosaurs. You will definately find yourself buying a membership here, a high level one for sure.

I absolutely love the kids' section of the PSC. There are alot of education games/toys/gizmos that the kids have alot of fun with. Parents, beware of the gift shops though. (as with all of the little places like this). They have cheap toys with a big price tag!

It typically gets crowded in the spring and fall...especially on the weekends.

No matter what though, go to the IMAX theater! It's definately an amazing experience!

Great place for a family fun day. Especially those little scientists in the family! Plenty of things for kids to do, you can even see a movie, laser shows, u name it! Great prices and they have plenty of discounts for groups and schools. Only thing I didn't like was parking but this is Seattle I guess that comes with every business you go to! Kids will have blast as well as adults!

If you havent visited the Pacific Science Center with your kids it is high time you do. It is such a fun place to go with so many exhibits that are not only fun but highly educational. I just love their butterfly house with its tropical plants and beautiful butterflies. You can even see butterflies emerge from their chrysalis from a window and new butterflies are released into the butterfly house every morning. I also like the high rail bicycle that you can ride high up in the air.

The Pacific Science Center is fun for the entire family. I would highly suggest buying a membership there so that you can save a lot of money; everytime you go after the first time pays for itself. I personally got the Platinum Membership, which allows me to bring my entire family plus FIVE more people in for FREE! I also got a Gold Membership for a gift to my cousins.

I visited the Science center today, and this was by far one of the best places for children to go to in Seattle. Fun packed with 3 buildings of hands-on excitment, along with a building with a travelling exhibit, PSC provides hours of interactive fun and enjoyment for the whole Family. This is the only place in Seattle with 2 IMAX theaters with massive sound. Totally worth it.

The Pacific Science Center is located in what is known as the Seattle Center. There are tons of exhibits for kids and for those of us that just want to pretend we are kids for the day. My favorite is the bike that you get to ride that is on a really high platform. A little scary at first but there is a security net in case you fall. I've been to the Science Center in Phoenix and the one in Washington is just sooo much better. Be sure to visit the Imax in the Science Center also. They show educational documentary movies as well as real movies that are playing in the theater. Admission for the Science Center isn't really too bad - especially for all the things you get to do there.

We've had a family membership to the science center for the past few years. With it, each family member also gets passes to see IMAX films. Sometimes, we go down just to see a film. Other times, we take in the exhibits. Some of the exhibits are getting a bit tired (they've been there since I was a kid) but there is one building dedicated to rotating exhibits. I love going to the butterfly house, free with admission. It's warm and moist in there, with beautiful flowers, and butterflies everywhere. The science center doesn't have anywhere to eat a brought lunch inside. They have a canopy set up outside with some tables where you can eat the food you've brought. We've had better success eating our lunch while we watch an IMAX movie. Otherwise, it can be pretty cold out there! The busiest we've ever seen the place is during the annual model railroad shows. Most of the time we practically have it to ourselves. If you have several kids, a family membership is the way to go if you think you'll visit more than once a year.

This sprawling science museum includes everything you've come to expect and a little bit more. See laser shows, IMAX movies, high-tech exhibits, a dinosaur exhibit, outdoor exhibits, a butterfly exhibit, and various special-event exhibits depending on the time of year. Armies of kids will be underfoot everywhere, so time your visits appropriately (which means not when classes are in session).

This place may not be a world class facility, but it is a Seattle landmark and a great place for kids. I went here several times on field trips and with my family as a kid and always had a fascination with the place. It has a ton of great exhibits like an elevated bike that you can ride on a track, a bunch of displays explaining scientific phenomenon, an IMAX theater and a laser light show. This is a really great place to spend a day with your kids.

I had an enjoyable experience at the museum, I went early on a Saturday morning and the place was not packed at all. As the day progressed, more and more people arrived but getting there early was a great idea. The Museum has hosts laser shows during the night, and I attended the Beatles Laser Show. It was an awesome experience, but your eyes/head might start to hurt a bit with all the flashing lights.

This place is awesome for both kids and adults alike. They have five buildings with interactive hands-on exibits and two IMAX theaters where they show both documentary and feature films (e.g. Polar Express) They also have a planetarium in one of the buildings (included in the price of your admission) and "laser dome" (costs extra) where you get to see laser-drawn images on a dome-like ceiling while listening to Pink Floyd or similar music. The museum exibits include various historic artifacts (stuff about dynosours, etc.), nature phenomenon, and various aspects of human anatomy and biology. All displays are interactive and are a blast for both kids and adults. One of the IMAX theaters has 3D capability. There is tons of stuff to do and see here for several visits, enough to justify a season pass.

PROS: Lots of stuff to do and see for kids and adults
CONS: Could be way too much for a day

The Pacific Science Center is a family favorite in the Seattle area and this reputation is well deserved. The exhibits are all hands on and children are encouraged to jump right in and explore. Its the perfect outing for families with smaller children. Admission pricing is low and you can get discounts if you look around. Be sure to catch the annual butterfly exhibit.

The Pacific Science Center complex offers a lot of things that can engage the whole family for an afternoon. People of different interests can find things tailored to them. For example, you can play interactive computer games and, review computer history in the tech room. You can also see robotic dinosaurs and tropical butterfly downstairs. The IMAX theater is also very nice. Admission is reasonable given the choices it offer.

They have wonderful permanent and semi-permanent exhibits that will keep your kids entertained for at least 4 hours, although adding a imax movie or lazer show might test their patience. There butterfly room is cool for girls and adults and boys that aren't mean. There's full-size dinosaurs for the boys, and many many small exhibits that are very fun for everyone, even you. The temporary exhibits sometimes are of dubious scientific value (a candy exhibit?) but I suppose the sponsors donate a lot of money for their name to be plastered everywhere(Jelly Belly), and they're only less slightly fun than the rest.

The Pacific Science Center is a lot of fun for everyone! We love to take the kids and they love the hands on learning. I like how the Pacific science Center has a nice flow to the buildings. You can see Dinosaurs, lean about the human body, see the Butterflies a tropical butterfly house. There is even a Planetarium! Dont forget to see a Laser Light Show! You can experience the music of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and some newer bands, set to very colorful laser lights. The prices are also good. Consider getting a yearly pass, your will want to go again and again.

The Pacific Science Center in downtown Seattle is just plain awesome! Their permanent exhibits include a cool dinosaur exhibit, my daughter's favorite the butterfly house (real butterflies fluttering around everywhere), insect village, how the body works, animal exhibits, music and technology, outdoor exhibits, and far more! You can spend the entire day here, easy! They have so much there, it is easy to miss some of it. That's a good thing because you can go again and again and see something new each time! In addition, they are constantly adding new or updated exhibits for your entertainment and education!

In addition to exhibits, they also have live science demonstrations, day camps, workshops, awesome laser light shows, a planetarium, and awesome IMAX theater which shows educational and nature movies and also shows current children's releases (such as Willy Wonka).

Prices for General Admission (not including IMAX or Laser shows) are adults $10, seniors $8.50, juniors (3-12) $7, ages 3 and under free. For an IMAX add on, add $5 per person. Laser shows are $4-$7.50. The way I recommend doing it, is inquiring about a membership, which turns out to be the cheapest way if you go more than once a year, plus you get free IMAX passes! Another option is to inquire about a City Pass, an especially good option for out of towners, where you get several different city attractions (zoo, aquarium, space needle, science center, and more) which you can use over nine days for one low price.

Whichever way you decide to pay, I highly recommend a visit to Pacific Science Center!

Wow! This museum really blew me away! The exhibits are very well-setup and were great for me (in my 20s), my sister (age 14), and our family friend (in her 50s). Lots of interactive exhibits, including one where you play virtual soccer. Lots of surveys, too, so you can see where you stand relative to other people who have been to the museum. If you go to this museum, you should check out a City Pass, which saves you 50% on 6 tourist sites in Seattle. Definitely a must-see for anyone interested in science at any level. Great for families!

We have season passes. We also go to PSC on field trips. Plan to spend a whole day there. The IMAX theater is great. The whole thing is extremely educational. You can pay some extra money to go on a simulator. Take a lunch. There are eating areas.

This is a great place to take the kids for an afternoon of fun. While some of the areas are looking a bit dated (the dinosaurs), there are enough new exhibits and animatronics to keep kids occcupied. It is nice they have an area set aside just for the very young with water play, climbing equipment, etc.. The Butterfly House is always fun to walk through to see the many species of butterflies there (and maybe even have one land on you). It's worth it to get a membership if you live close enough to visit regularly.

Going to the Pacific Science Center can be a great adventure- for our daughter, but - to my surprise- we had lots of things to discover - or remember- ourselves (the "grown-ups"). The hands on experiences are a very nice feature. And many times there are special programs taking place at the same location.

PROS: great, for kids young and not so young
CONS: none

This place is amazing. You can take your family and spend hours exploring all the different buildings, displays, experiments, and the Imax and other theatres. There is always something wonderful going on. You don't have to be an avid science fan to appreciate all the exhibits they have. Lots of fun things to entice every age group and well worth the admission price or buy a yearly membership for more savings.

This is a great tourist stop and the children love it. The exhibits change all the time and are very interesting for all ages. If you have time go to the IMAX for a movie. They are incredible.

The Pacific Science Center has it all for the family. From time to time they have excellent short term exhibits, once even had a ufo display which was great. The IMax is of course as good as any with all the most recent movies.

No matter what is playing at this theater, I guarantee it's going to be great fun! The screen is so huge, you feel like you're actually inside the movie! The theater itself is large and comfortable, and it almost seems like you're at home! The staff here is friendly and prices are reasonable, so it's a great afternoon outing!

This place is great. Fun for kids fun for adults and lots of things to see and do. Imax, dinosaurs and learning. It is a great place to take your kids or your date. Lots of things to touch see and do. Spend a day there and your brain will feel better. The Lewis and Clark Imax is wonderful, rich and full of Northwest History. One of my favorite things to do is stroll around the butterfly exibit. It is like a tropical rainforest in the city of rain.

PROS: Kid friendly

My son and I have been going to the Science Center at least once a month his entire life (he's 11). When he was about 4 or 5, we would go once a week. He was terrified of the Dinosaur Room but the older he got, the braver he grew. When he was 8 he took his first step into that room and we spent our entire visit there. He learned all about dinosaurs it was great! They have a ton of different learning levels. Waterworks for the little ones, a larger, tech area for older ones. And outside they have some fun toys for the kids to play with regarding water. It's helped foster a lot of curiosity in my boy and he loves science now.

PROS: Lots of exhibits for all ages
CONS: Gets really crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Better to go on a weekday morning.

I went to see the Polar Express at the Boeing Imax Theather at the Pacific Science Center a couple months ago. The movie was in 3D, and to watch it in the most high tech theather in the nation, was way too cool. the sound and visuals will blow your mind. Don't miss a chance
