Although they have great beer, they made some recent menu changes that I'm not to stoked on. First off, they had a red clam chowder, but made with mussels, that was a special of the day the last time i was in. I pretty much eat anything and I couldnt even eat half of it. I also had the black bean cakes - which tasted like hockey pucks. they were hard and flavorless. I would say that the rest of the people i was with enjoyed their food - the field roast ruben and then steak tacos. Plus the beer was good.

In my opinion, Elysian makes the best beer in Seattle; and I've tried a wide variety of local microbrews. Being a brewery (and restaurant), it's all done on site, and you can watch and smell the whole deliciously steamy process. And, the fact that the food, service and atmosphere are also pretty darn good is a big bonus.

This place has a fun atmosphere and a large floor, which can accomodate whatever you're looking for - lunch with a friend, dinner before a night on the town, or a place to unwind after a busy day. The food is delicious (especially the fries), and the beer menu is always a pleasure, as are the rest of their drinks. Parking can be a hassle, but if you're willing to walk a block or two, I've never had a problem.

They are constantly changing the beer list with some great specialty micro-brews. The food menu is a hit, too. Often it seems understaffed, but the service is still great.

Was taken here by a coworker during training and only had enough money for a cup of soup.
The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly with wonderful aromas in the air - yeasty and rich from the microbrewery (did not have any beer, it's not my thing) and spices in use in the kitchen. Caters to a younger crowd (under 40) but the soup is worth taking my 80 year old mother!
It was the most remarkable potatoe soup - creamy yet spicy! I will return with more $$$ in my pocket. Most meals were under $10.

If you can manage to find parking, the Elysian is one of the best restaurants on Capital Hill. Not only do they offer a supreme selection of beers, their food is commendable, especially the fries with Kali sauce. Suitable for small groups or big ones, the brewery routines provides a visual cross-section of Seattle society. A meal and a beer at the Elysian is worth every cent!
